  1. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I am suspecting that Joe#2 has made up his mind to find negative in everything about the Bucs. For years he complains we have no running game, and then when Koetter says he wants 125 yards rushing per game, Joe complains that the team is built for passing, not running.

It sounds to me like he needs to take a breath. It;s going to be alright. The only reason Koetter passes so much is because he did not have a running option before now (between the RBs and the OL).

We still don’t know if the RBs will be good…but we do know the OL will be better at run blocking.

  2. The Buc Realist Says:

Payton Barber’s record for most rushing is 102 yards not “120”!!!!!!!

you think that someone that has been promoting yards all offseason to ridiculousness would have gotten that right!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I honestly do not think the Bucs have any choice but to let Jones make the team. I’m not too concerned about fumbling…it’s a simple problem to solve. Make him clutch that ball everywhere he goes, and encourage players to try to smack it out.

He will start holding it firmly pretty quickly.

  4. Trench War Says:

I personally don’t understand Steve’s criticism of RoJo’s fumbling. The guy fumbled. Koetter’s not happy about it and doesn’t see it as as rookie right of passage. Nobody said RoJo is a turnover machine. Hope here is he proves himself to Koetter in a hurry, so there’s trust for the regular season. — Joe. … It’s a fact that running backs are at a higher risk of fumbling when in traffic, but for as many times as they handle the ball, it’s usually a low percentage in comparison of their number of carries. Everybody wants to trash a RB when they fumble but for some reason when a QB (especially Winston) fumbles excessively, they get a pass. Why the biased criticism? This may be RoJo’s only fumble for the rest of the preseason. I will guarantee Winston will still fumble when he plays again but he won’t garner the same level of criticism as a RB gets.

  5. Only Wins Count Says:

I know a fumble can hurt some players but usually because someone makes a big issue about. I feel the less said the better it is for the player.
One of my fantasy RBs fumbled his first carry and then did not fumble again for the rest of the year.
That player not only did not fumble again he led the NFL in rushing!!
