“Feeling Great”
May 31st, 2018Later today, Joe will get a chance to watch more Bucs underwear football. Reports will be coming shortly thereafter, you can bank on that as always.
If it continues to rain, perhaps Joe will get a chance to see how finished the indoor practice facility is? Videos on social media of OTA practice yesterday seem to show bleachers are ready to go.
Last week, Joe wanted to talk to Noah Spence, perhaps the forgotten Bucs defensive end. Many folks in national circles talking about the Bucs seem to overlook Spence, coming off his second injury-riddled season. Yes, he is still on the roster.
Last year it nearly made Joe sick to see Spence after the curb-stomping dished out by the Vikings. He was so emotional about throwing out his shoulder on the second play of the game for the second season in a row.
Joe tried to talk to Spence last week but he seemed intent on something entirely different, perhaps a meeting he wanted to get to. Spence only had brief words for Joe as he exited the practice field but insisted his shoulder surgery “went great.” And he feels “Great.”
How great? Well, after the defensive linemen had a meeting among themselves on the practice field, they each lined up along the sideline in the end zone of one of the three practice fields behind One Buc Palace and did some sort of Michael Jackson/”Thriller”/slide move. Joe asked Spence what that was all about and his answer was short yet direct.
“Feeling great.”

This is such good news and yes….you almost forget Spence is on the team with all the new additions. Please stay healthy Noah, and show us how great you can be.
The added depth should lower the snaps for Spence helping to keep him on the field.

Like it when you guys summarize highlights from practice.

All bucs feel GREAT may, june and July. Its week 1 when they get hit in the mouth that they fold like a cheap lawn chair. Shut up and win! Nothing else matters.

RiaB- “Shut up and win!” Yea, I’d like to see us hit somebody in the mouth for a change!
A healthy Spence will definitely be a boost.

Was hoping between Spence and Smith we would have two very speedy and gifted rushers. . . . alas that didnt happen, and I worry that Spence may never be what he could have been. . . .not giving up on him – but coming back from something like that sounds like a big long shot.
Hope Im wrong

spence should be fine this year….he’ll be coming off the bench on pass downs so less wear and tear on him…..
last thing I want to hear is we went 6-10 because spence was injured….again….
this team has to learn how to overcome adversity….the coaches have to adjust….players have to step up…..
#NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!….#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES…GO BUCS!!!!

Like everybody here I remain hopeful but it’s an optimism tempered with reality.
I believe Spence is the real deal and will be a pass rushing star if he’s healthy. I do not worry about his “lack of size”.
However until he plays a full season I can’t get past his injury…especially since it’s the same shoulder two years in a row. Maybe this year the Orthopod got the surgery right. GMC had a rough two years physically with injuries at the start so maybe Spence can duplicate that and end up in multiple Pro Bowls.
On the positive side besides the GMC example…Spence is still young..youth is great when it comes to recovery…he will have almost an entire year by the time the preseason rolls around to heal.
Bottom line…we all have our fingers crossed.

The Bucs have bolstered up the defense this off season. Spence will have the support and mentors he needs to begin succeeding. Obviously won’t mean a thing if he can’t remain healthy and on the field. His trainer would be the most important person in his professional life at present.

When you look at the roster, NS57 is the best pure pass rusher on this roster!!!!! Even though the Bucs took a lot of lumps by sitting NS57 so early last year by placing him on IR!!!! They did right by him and let him get surgery early for a final fix on his shoulder!!!!! They could have asked him to keep playing and he would have!!! And the Bucs would have been better in yards for defense which the sheep and joe would be happy with!!!! Instead they took the lumps and did it correctly so NS57 can be a force for the foreseeable future for the Bucs!!!!!!!
GO America!!!!!!!!
AND Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!

He’s the #1 player on defense I pray to f*cking god can stay 100% healthy for 16 games. He had a hurt shoulder as a rookie and still got more pressure than anyone when it counted. Please god man
Spence/JPP = please give us 16 games of pass rushing terror. We can weather any other storms if that’s the case imo

Lord C- I’m with you. I’m hoping he’s on the GMC 2 year plan. Remember? GMC was toast his first 2 seasons. If we get GMC-like or better production from Spence for the next 5-10 years, we might be alright.

Best player on defense??? What am I missing??? Every time I watched him he just got abused by the tackle, getting pushed out and around the pocket. Regardless of injuries, I think he just isn’t strong enough to play DE in the NFL. From what I have seen he sucks and is injury prone on top of that.

Man it would be so great if Spawn could stay healthy this season.
He has the drive and passion.
He certainly has the ability and skill set. Probably the 2nd best pure pass rusher on our roster after JPP.
But can his body hold up? Shoulders are a fickle b!tch. One of the most complex and vulnerable joints in the human body. I really hope he can find a way to hold up.
Unleash the Spawn!
