A fond farewell to the Boston Bruins, a vanquished rival. There is a letdown element for Tom after months of building hype are suddenly over. But now the task at hand is about business, not emotion.
Will our Bolts handle an out-gunned Washington team that feels it is on a mission? It’s all about the man in the mirror on the way to the Cup Finals. Time will tell, let’s get ready together Bolts!
Thousands love the JoeBoltsFan podcast with Tom Lang, lifelong Lightning fan, Clearwater native and popular personality at ESPN Tallahassee. It’s right here every Friday.
Bucs fans know Lang from The ScuttleBucs podcast, but do not fear, Lang knows his beloved Bolts inside and out.

I agree that we’re the favorite here but you are severely underestimating the Caps offensively. Ovi, Oshie, Kuznetsov, Backstom (if he comes back), and Carlson present a much less top-line heavy approach than Boston. We only had to deal with one player that could score in the first round, then one line against Boston; the Caps will test our defense even more. Holtby could steal a couple games as well. Should be a good series, Go Bolts!

Ovechkin is deadly. It could be only him on a team and it could push us to a game seven. This is a even matchup however and I can see the bolts prevailing. Win the cup!

Stay out of the Box. Rask was a bigger problem to solve than Holtby will be. I am not really worried about the Washington Collapsibles. Bolts in 5 again is what I think.

Hey Tom, great podcast.
I wouldn’t call myself a hockey fan… but I am a big Bolts fan, if that makes sense.
Not to look past our current opponent, but I will be watching the other series as well. As a Bolts fan, who should I be rooting for coming out of the West?
Thanks! Looking forward to the next one!

I’d rather take my chances with Ovechkin than Crosby. Ovechkin is B-Rabbit before the final battle! Let’s hope this isn’t Ovechkin’s final battle, or in another sense, it is.
