PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASE if Josh Sweat is there at #117, take a shot on him Licht.

  4. Bucs Guy Says:

Equanimeous St Brown can be the DJAX replacement. 2nd round talent.

  5. ShutTheBucUp Says:

CHRIS GODWIN IS DJAX REPLACEMENT. We don’t need to draft any receivers

  6. Bucs Guy Says:

Okoronkwo would be another good depth pick for LB or 3rd down rotational DE.

  7. Roy T. Buford Says:

Thanks for laying it out for us Joe; saved me a about an hour figuring it out myself. So far I think this is shaping up to be the best draft for the Bucs in years. My wife thinks I’m a genius because when NYG and DEN didn’t pick a QB early, I said “Awescome! Watch the Bucs move down and clean up on picks.” She was like “Wow, how did you know.” I was elated they got 2nd rounders! Of course, the dialog on Joe Bucs Fan gets the knoggin working. So, thanks! I loved that we hit so many needs in two rounds…now today we can focus on depth, hopefully at OL and LB.

  8. Pa Privateer Says:

Some of the guys I am watching for in the later rounds:

    FS Armani Watts
    FS Troy Apke

    LB Shaquem Griffin

    DE Josh Sweat
    DE Jay Holmes
    DE Duke Ejiofor
    DE Tyquan Lewis
    DE Ade Aruna

    SS Marcus Allen

    RB Nyhiem Hines
    RB John Kelly

    OC Scott Quessenberry

    WR Desean Hamilton
    WR Antonio Callaway
    WR Justin Watson

    CB Kevin Tolliver
    CB Quenton Meeks
    CB Christian Campbell

  9. IndyBucsFan Says:

I’m coming down to Tampa tmrw tic go skydiving, any recommendations for a good steak house or a nice place with a great view??

    Go Bucs!

  10. WutdaBucisthis Says:

Pair Evans with his former teammate in Watts. Griffin after that. Hopefully Lawler to finish it out
    I’d be good with that
    Go Bucs
    #NOexcuses2018

  11. GreG Says:

The Vita Vea pick is really growing on me, if he is who they think he is our d-line could be scary for the first time in a while. I’m indifferent on the RB, would’ve rather had Guice but lets see what this guy can do. Really do not like either of the corners at all. Stewart probably can’t play outside so we spent that high a pick on a slot corner when we could have given the former 11th overall pick to revive his career there. Davis has the length we need but the guy gets lost deep, he’ll fit in perfectly with the rest of our DBs! Would have rather had Isaiah Oliver (a tall corner who can start on the outside from day one, and will do so for our division rivals) than both of these guys. Would not shock me if they both bust. I like the guard a lot.

  12. Easy Says:

If Shaquem Griffin or Danny Johnson are on the board when we pick in the 4th round I think we take one of them.

  13. Stanglassman Says:

    Pa privateer

Tyquan Lewis got picked in the 2nd by the Colts.

I had him on my Bucs board in the 4th.

  14. DB55 Says:

I’m just gonna get this off my chest so I can be on this is how my draft would look:

    Da’Ron Payne 1st
    Harold Landry 2nd
    Darius Guise 2nd
    Nathan Shepard 2nd
Desmond Harrison 4th (not sure about this one)
    Anthony Everett 4th
    Bo Scarborough 5th
    Joe Ostman 6th

  15. DB55 Says:

*so I can move on, this is how my draft would look

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Here is what I would like with our 3 picks.

    A safety
    A developmental Olineman
    A RB or WR (Returner)

I would chose the S first as he would likely be the only player to make the team….and I wouldn’t mind packaging our 5th & 6th to move way up to pick him.

We will, as we do every year have plenty of UDFA and a couple of them usually make the team.

  17. Trench War Says:

    IndyBucsFan,

Try Bern’s Steakhouse …the best in Tampa

  18. JDR Says:

We need another big running back

  19. Bucs Guy Says:

Our 5th and 6th together would get us a very late 4th round pick.

  20. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Armani Watts!!!

  21. Bucs Guy Says:

I also like RB Scarborough and another CB or S.

  22. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

    @IndyBucsFan

Like Trench War said, Berns is the best of the best. But you will need to call and make a reservation. But make note, with one days notice on a Sunday, you’ll either have to go very early when they open at 5, or rather late around 9 o’clock.
Your other option is to go down there with no reservation and try to get seats at the Bar. You could get lucky and get seated within 30 minutes, or have to wait up to 3 hours.

Either way, they have the best dry aged steak in the State, and their expansive selection of Wine rivals any Steak House in the world. So it’ll be worth it to go no question.

  23. Easy Says:

    @LuveMyBucs

As a fellow Texan I would support this pick. IMO him and Evans are the same type player who can play either Safety spot on the field.

  24. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We already have a 4th……we can give up a 6th to move up again

  25. Broy34 Says:

    O lineman and safety

  26. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We need good players….not a bunch of prospects…..no more CBs looking to make them Safeties……draft a S.

  27. Pa Privateer Says:

    @Stanglassman

Thanks, I didn’t see that. In my defense the GF and I went to see Avengers Infinity War last night just after the Bucs drafted RB Jones

I too had DE Lewis ranked in the 4th.

I really think FS Armani Watts will be the pick if he is there at 117, but then again I had no idea we would take a DII OG in the 3rd.

  28. DB55 Says:

That’s what I meant Armani watt idk who Anthony Everett even is. Still early lol

  29. macabee Says:

I searched players who had WOs or PVs with Bucs still undrafted – found S Armani Watts, RB Nyheim Hines and DE Justin Lawler. Also know from his pre-draft presser Jason Licht likes well-prepared Penn State players, SS Marcus Allen is still undrafted. I personally like SS Dane Cruikshank/Arizona but have no knowledge of any scouting by the Bucs.

  30. Bucsfan1010 Says:

I’d like to see josh sweat
Either one of both of the CB Campbell and the WR from penn state and a safety would be one of the Bucs best drafts on paper in years

  31. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Good call Bucs Guy… really would like griffen if smitty can use him right and 7th round go get antonio callaway to be sp teams guy

  32. Dewey Selmon Says:

  57. SCBucsFan Says:

I doubt anyone gets picked that I know from this point on

  58. TampaTown Says:

That Parrot thing $ucked. Typical- all hype no delivery

  59. Tampabaybucfan Says:

There is the S I asked for…..thanks, Jason.

  60. JabooBuc Says:

Browns have Cheech and Chong split wide

  61. bucsfan1988 Says:

Ughhhhh, what the heck Licht?? Jordan Whitehead?? Damnnnn, take SHAQUEM GRIFFIN!! 😫😫😫😫😫😫

  62. Easy Says:

    Not sure about that pick

  63. SCBucsFan Says:

Not a good sign the parrot wouldn’t say his name

  64. Wesley Says:

    Good pick!

  65. lambchop Says:

He’s a dual threat on defense and offense.

  66. unbelievable Says:

Was really hoping for Shaw Griffen… damn oh well

  67. Rojas Says:

Would trade back up and take Shaq Griffin

  68. Tony from L.A. Says:

Man – our staff just simply has complete different valuations on DBs than most analysts.

Every pick gets a “meh” reaction.

I watched Whitehead play quite a bit this year – good at coverage but you don’t want him as the lats man between a barreling RB and the end zone. He’s depth most likely.

There were still some studs there. Was hoping for the FSU DE or the tackle from Oregon – guys who had starter potential. This has that “reach” feel.

Why not sign Eric Reid on the cheap and grab a talented guy that fell?

I know we all want to be extremely optimistic and wait and se – but all 3 DBs have serious talent red flags. And Joe has already mentioned HUNDREDS of TIMES that this coaching staff is not successful at coaching up DBs.

    So… yeah.

Go BPA and build some trench depth in round 5.

FIX THE TRENCHES, FIX THE BUCS!!

  69. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

You don’t want to see his scout report, lol.

Bucs staff must have seen something no one else did.

  70. unbelievable Says:

    *Shaq

  71. unbelievable Says:

Really not that stoked in any of the DBs we’ve taken.

    Hope they prove me wrong!

  72. SB Says:

@UB with the Pass Rush I believe we will have next yr our DBs are gonna have a field day feasting on errant passes from under duress QBs

  73. Pickgrin Says:

our 5th and 6th is fair value to move up right now to this 130

  74. unbelievable Says:

@SB I sure hope so man!

I actually like Carlton Davis. But Stewart and this guy both seem like projects. Not as big of a deal for a 4th rounder, but for a high pick in the 2nd round… I worry Licht tried to outsmart himself sometimes.

If we could somehow still snag Shaq Griffin and John Kelly I’d be stoked. Prob a pipe dream though. Getting on a plane so I have no idea if they’ve been picked picked already .

  75. MadMax Says:

Alright (just woke up)….lets get Griffin please!

  76. Easy Says:

Griffin Is gonna get drafted sometime inthe 5th round I think.

  77. MadMax Says:

Crap, Nick Nelson is gone…but Desmond Harrison and Ryan Nall are still there (5th and 6th rounders)

    Still want Griffin though too.

  78. unbelievable Says:

    Would like Desmond Harrison too!

  79. MadMax Says:

We’re picking 7th next round….lucky #7, make it Griffin Mr Licht

  80. MadMax Says:

Yeah, Desmond will be a great pick up to use as RT.

  81. Buchead407 Says:

Griffin better be our 5th rounder if he’s there

  82. MadMax Says:

There he goes…..Griffin, and with his brother…..so good to see.

  83. lambchop Says:

Shaq Griffin goin to play with his bro in Seattle. 🙁

  84. bucsfan1988 Says:

I knew Seattle would try & grab griffin so now the twins are playing together again…

  85. Bucs Guy Says:

    OL, St Brown or Ejiofor.

  86. Destinjohnny Says:

We draft guys earlier then needed then trade up when we don’t have to.
Jason is the definition of average

  87. Bucs Guy Says:

    Great value for a 5 or 6.

  88. JDR Says:

    Bo

  89. bucsfan1988 Says:

I’m totally bummed about Bucs not grabbing Griffin!!! UGHHHHHHHHHH 🙁

  90. Bird Says:

Man. I was worried Seattle would take there

Not sure bucs even had on their board. We missed out.

  91. JJBucfan Says:

Happy for the brothers but the Bucs whiffed here, Shriners World HQ is on the causeway and we still need an edge rusher

  92. Bucs Guy Says:

    Bo works too

  93. MadMax Says:

    WR Justin Watson 5th round

  94. lambchop Says:

    Justin Watson WR

  95. Bucs Guy Says:

Read some on him before the draft. Looks good.

  96. K_Bassuka Says:

Man, we could’ve trade this picks instead of drafting these players that aren’t going to make the team.

  97. Greg Says:

Okwronko and flowers both available, and we take a WR we dont need? Stupid waste of a pick!

  98. MadMax Says:

We have two 6th’s right? Lets use them….go get Desmond Harrison. He wont be there in the 6th. Im surprised he’s made it this far.

  99. Bucs Guy Says:

So one pick left in the 6th. What position do we go for?
RB, OL, CB, DE or QB?

  100. Bucs Guy Says:

We need a WR. Bobo and Freddie? I don’t think so.

  101. JabooBuc Says:

    1 6th left

  102. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I like the pick. His combine 40 was horrible…but…

Ran a 4.4 forty and posted a 40″ vertical leap to wow teams at his pro day.

1,000 yard in each of the last 3 seasons.

THIS might be Jackson’s replacement. Godwin is a slot WR.

  103. MadMax Says:

Only 1? crap….hmmmuse a 6th or 7th from next year to get him then.

We seriously need to start thinking about RT….even if we do get one more year out of Dotson.

  104. MadMax Says:

Yeah, I like the pick being a WR….never know.

  105. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Greg Says
“Okwronko and flowers both available, and we take a WR we dont need?”

Actually, we did need another one. It’s a very good pick. A speedster.

  106. Greg Says:

No Bonzai, it’s a luxury pick, still need depth at DE, and Flowers can do it all out of the backfield.

  107. larrywoods3 Says:

if taking a receiver with that pick, why not get Tate instead tho

  108. MadMax Says:

We are pick #202. I doubt Desmond is still there, but if so…..and we pass…

  109. Capt.Tim Says:

After watching every minute of the draft- Im friggin glad we dont have a 7th round pick!!

Its beenna great off season- both Free agents and Draft.
Its gonna take the rookies a couple years- but this defense wont be a joke anymore.

    Licht is a keeper.
Good job. We will have a good team now!

  110. Bucsfan1010 Says:

There is a lot of good names on the broad that look like they will go undrafted, will be interesting to see who the team brings in

  111. Gt40bear Says:

Frazier (DE), Jones-Smith (OT) or Scrabrough (RB). Would also consider Eddy from UF IF those are gone.

  112. Jarrett Says:

Since we have a nasty o-line and a stud running back, I’d love to add a nasty, in-your-face fullback. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned.

  113. Chris Schiefen Says:

Mike Smith is gonna be the death of us. Derwin James plus Maurice Hurst was the move, but no, we need fat DTs in a passing league.

  114. Rod Munch Says:

Yeah, wasting another 6 rounder on a fullback that has zero percent chance of making the team. Licht does it nearly every year so you might get your wish.

  115. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Chris Schiefen
“Waaaah! I didn’t get the players I wanted! Waaaah!”

  116. NFLRealist Says:

Enough of you cry-babies whining about us passing on Derwin James.

14 OTHER TEAMS PASSED ON JAMES for a reason.

  117. Chris Schiefen Says:

Shut up Bonzai. That is some deep analysis buddy. The fact is is we have a huge DT with no get off and basically no safeties (though I like MJ Stewart). Seeing how good Hurst looked (& PFF ranked him the 4th best guy overall) sucks, especially since it was Gruden doing the picking.

  118. Jarrett Says:

LOL, like most of picks in then 6th round aren’t already usually wastes. Just saying you’re more likely to find a starting fullback around this time than you are a DE or really any other position besides K or P.

  119. Dave Says:

    Chris

A DT with no get off? What the hell are you talking about? Vita has got a damn quick get off and McCoy has the fastest in the NFL.
No safeties? They drafted 3D D’s DBs !
    A corner, a corner/safety and a safety.

I don’t know you but you are sounding like 1/3rd of all the pseudo-buccaneer fans on this website.

They are clueless whiners who think they know more than the teams actually drafting. Just giving you a heads up, it sounds pathetic

  120. NFLRealist Says:

BUCCANEER BONZAI – what the hell are you talking about with Justin Watson and “his combine 40 was horrible.” ???

Justin Watson wasn’t even at the combine, he didn’t get an invite. He only performed at his own Pro Day.

I love how so many of you just MAKE STUFF UP about these prospects.

  121. NFLRealist Says:

Dave is right, Chris. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Vea is one of the most explosive DTs in a long time. There’s a reason he was a consensus TOP 10 prospect in this draft by every NFL team.

As for safeties, the team has several to ‘audition’ in camp now and we’ll most certainly add more. And you also don’t know what the front office is working on… they might be in contract talks with Eric Reid or another FA safety.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many Bucs fans think they know more about scouting and player personnel than actual execs in the NFL that do it for a living.

  122. MadMax Says:

Desmod Harrison….and yes, he needs to put on some weight (and he will), but that speed.

Need to groom our future RT…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zZaO_TpMYo

  123. SB Says:

    Eddie Pinero????

  124. Eric Says:

Mommy I going to cry because we didn’t get Derwin James for Christmas. You dont grab a combine hero with horrible tape, especially a Strong safety. Now Hurst I wouldn’t mind but he cant even hold Vea’s jock.

  125. Joeypoppems Says:

Hurst and Vea are two completely different players that play 2 different positions. Not all that fair to compare them to each other.

  126. MadMax Says:

2 more picks….make it happen Mr Licht

    DESMOND HARRISON!!!

  127. Joeypoppems Says:

Hot take(?) – Im sick of hearing about Shaquem Griffin

  128. MadMax Says:

Loving the Griffin piece btw….Good luck big man!

  129. Tampabaybucfan Says:

With three Dbacks drafted…..I think it might be time for Joe’s punter…..oh wait….we have a punter…..
Sorry, Joe…but we have some developing to do…..

  130. Eric Says:

His combine was horrible…. you are a complete fool for saying that. He wasn’t invited so how can he be horrible. Stupid people should talk less so that way there stupidity is at least hidden. Rofl🤣

  131. MadMax Says:

it gets old for some people and nfl network has run it a lot….i get you.

  132. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Today, I called for A Safety….WR & Developmental Olineman…..lets see if I hit the trifecta.

  133. Joeypoppems Says:

    @MadMax

Yea thats the only reason why lol. Its a great story for sure, just gets old after the 30th time lol

  134. Sam Says:

I’m sick of hearing about Derwin Fing James!!!!!!!!

  135. Joeypoppems Says:

Wouldnt mind seeing them take another RB here. Scarborough would be my choice if it were to happen

  136. SB Says:

Pick is in! LB Jack Cichy

  137. MadMax Says:

    Jack Cichy LB…..wait what?

  138. MadMax Says:

    ok, i’ll trust them….film time.

  139. SB Says:

Surprising that we took a flyer on a LB in the 7th. Maybe they are worried about Beckwith’s injury?

  140. Joeypoppems Says:

    Not a bad pick

  141. Easy Says:

I hope Cichy can stay healthy!

  142. MadMax Says:

So nobody to groom at RT…..really?

    ok then

  143. Joeypoppems Says:

Benenoch is still on the team

  144. Bucsfan1010 Says:

Ok I know it’s the 6th round and all but why pick a guy who’s been injured for the last year and a half in cichy? He’s not played since 2016

  145. Rod Munch Says:

Cichy sounds like a special teams pick, and if healthy perhaps he could grow into a backup role. You need special teams guys, and most 6th rounders are busts, so not a bad pick if he’s healthy.

  146. Licht’s Out Says:

Agreed. Feels like a throw away pick/give up slide…

  147. Rod Munch Says:

Man I don’t know about this draft, every pick the Bucs made has some major red flags, except for Vita, but even then there is the issue of if if he’s just a 2-down player or not. They picked a RB with durability concerns and a diva personality, they picked two corners with limited speed, they picked an undersized safety with limited speed, they picked a D2 offensive lineman with mediocre (at best) measurables, and they picked a white WR from an Ive league.

Not at all saying the draft is a bust, we don’t know, but just saying no pick in the draft seemed to be a value or to make a lot of sense – and yes, that includes Vita since he’s a 3-4 run stopping NT despite the people that are saying he’s the next Sapp+Donald+Suh and a surefire 1st ballot HOFer.

Anyways Licht has enough history to get the benefit of the doubt, but if I’m the Glazers I’m not rushing to give him any extension anytime soon – I’d want to see how this class plays out first. Hopefully it all works out fantastic.

  148. Easy Says:

Cichy will be a solid special teams player and can contribute especially if we switch to a 3-4 as an ILB

  149. Joeypoppems Says:

    @Rod Munch

There are pluses to all of the picks as well.

  150. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Boohooo.

  151. Rod Munch Says:

I’ll say it again, I hope the Bucs sign Quinton Flowers who I doubt will be drafted, the idea should be to move him to RB, but I’d allow him to at least have looks at QB. The kid has special talents and I think he’d help the team in some way, be it special teams, as a RB, an emergency QB and in particular as someone they could use at the goalline. From watching him and Lamar Jackson there is very little difference other than about 2.5 inches in height.

  152. lurker Says:

i assume the defensive staff and head coach told licht the type of players they wanted/needed.

  153. Joe Says:

Ok I know it’s the 6th round and all but why pick a guy who’s been injured for the last year and a half in cichy? He’s not played since 2016

Story to answer your question coming momentarily.

  154. Rod Munch Says:

Joeypoppems – certainly, my post sounds more down on the picks than I actually am, that’s just my gut reaction to things. But the picks are in so now I hope for the best and hope Licht’s history proves that he knows what he’s doing.

  155. Licht’s Out Says:

I’ve got the same uneasy feeling that Hot Rod has…of course I have PTSD from the past 15 years of fandom.

  156. Bucsfan1010 Says:

Alright now it’s time to start lining up udfa…

  157. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Overall this is a very meh draft from Licht.

I like picking Vea, Davis, and Cappa, and I’m ok with Ronald Jones. Even though if it were my call Jones would have been Guice.

But the rest of the picks I could do without. Stewart, and Whitehead should have been Isiah Oliver and Shaq Griffin. I don’t care about the 6th round pick, but honestly if you were going to take a linebacker anyway why not take the much, much more talented one.

  158. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Oh yeah and The Watson pick isn’t bad either I suppose. At 6’3 with 4.4 speed at his pro day and a 40 inch vert he could develop into a pretty solid Receiver even though we didn’t totally need one.

  159. Pa bucs fan Says:

I love the crying from the couch gms and scouts.

These picks seemed pretty good and fit what needs we had. Let these guys play a snap and see what they have before calling for thier heads.

We added depth to the d line and secondary and added a homerun type rb. Not sure how u can be upset.

We get it some players wanted people from thier fav college teams or whatever but there no need to hate on the pkayers before they even played becuase u prefered your “favorite” player over another.

Go be a Titans fan then! Seriously, what is your beef? Are you upset we passed on Derwin?

  162. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

I think DB is trying to say we drafted too many White guys.

  163. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    The Wide Receiver they drafted.

    Six spots for WRs, right?

    The locks are:
    Mike Evans
    Desean Jackson (this year)
    Adam Humphries
    Chris Godwin

He will compete for one of two spots with:
    Freddie Martino
    Bobo Wilson
    Jake Lampman
    Devin Lucien

If he is even halfway good, how can he not make the team????

I believe the hope is that he will turn out to be a major steal, because Licht knows Jackson will be gone next year, and Godwin is not fast enough.

  164. Licht’s Out Says:

Don’t forget D. Walker outta Canada, eh Brown 👁?!

  167. Bucsfan1010 Says:

Godwin will be thud teams #2 wideout once Jackson leaves..

  168. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @bonzai
Godwin ran a 4.42. That’s plenty fast. Walton was clocked by Licht @4.39.

  169. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ Blake
In a vacuum Guice would be the pick for me as well. But seeing as Guice lies multiple times (teams asking if he liked men, and if his mom was a hooker) AND got into a shouting match at his (job) interview/visit with the eagles I’m glad we didn’t take him. I like RoJo, and some scouts had him as the #2 rb in this class (in front of Guice)

  170. Sweeptheleg Says:

Lmao DB55 is such a biatch lol.

Wha wha cry cry. What a fa g

  171. Frank Pillow Says:

What’s with all the b*tching here? Over the course of this draft and off-season we have significantly overhauled the DL, improved the interior of the OL, added an RB and added some quality to our secondary. Now it’s on Dirk, Smitty and the staff to develop these guys and integrate their strengths into the O and D systems. There are still rookie FAs to sign, June 1st cuts and viable vet FA options at S. This team isn’t done yet. We’ee Seemingly on the cusp of having something we haven’t had since the turn of the century- quality depth.

  172. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @frank
It’s nothing new. Site is full of negative Nancys.

  173. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Not Walton lol. Stupid auto correct

  174. NFLNut Says:

The Titans drafted their next starting QB in Luke Falk at the same pick as Falk’s idol, Tom Brady, #199 overall … front page story on ESPN.

In all seriousness, I don’t think Mariota loses his starting job next year … but maybe by 2019 …

  175. MadMax Says:

  176. Doctor Stroud Says:

Cautious optimism for this very ‘blue collar’ draft class. Licht overhauled the secondary and drafted some good players for the trenches. Let’s see if he can bring in some undrafted free agents. He now has my permission to bring in a kicker. Did he draft the right players? We’ll talk again in 1-3 years.

  177. Trench War Says:

Can’t wait to see our undrafted free agents list. These guys can sign with whatever team they want so it’s always interesting to see what teams the best players gravitate to. We should be able to sign a few corners since that was our biggest competition.

  178. NFLNut Says:

BRING IN OT DESMOND HARRISON and groom him to be Dotson’s replacement in 2019

    2018: Smith/Marpet/Jensen/Sweezy/Dotson

    2019: Smith/Marlet/Jensen/Kappa/Harrison

  179. Defense Rules Says:

Next day or two will be BIG. Lots of quality talent wasn’t drafted for one reason or another. Classic example is CB J.C. Jackson from Maryland (the cat who was kicked out of UF). Quality skillset & a number of evaluators thought he could go in Rnds 2-3. Unfortunately for him, teams don’t forget little things like being arrested for armed robbery (he was acquitted) or being shot at (bullet barely glazed his eyelid apparently). But at the same time, Maryland coaches said that he was never any trouble, so MAYBE he’s turned things around. And Bo Scarborough’s still available, as well as a number of pretty highly-rated DTs & OLinemen. We hit it big before with undrafted guys like Cam Brate & Adam Humphries … do it again Jason.

  180. feelthepewterpower Says:

I was initially down on MJ Howard and RoJo, but I am starting to come around. One thing’s for sure……we’re going to be as nasty as we want to be!!!

  182. JimmyJack Says:

I’m very happy we adressed the secondary. And I love BIG guys so love our first round choice too.

Now they have to coach these guys up and they have to contribute or it’s back to square one.

  183. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

No Scarborough was already picked. By Dallas I believe.

  184. JimmyJack Says:

  187. DanBucsFan Says:

VERY GOOD DRAFT MR. LICHT ! I was a lil upset Thursday night that we took Vea over James, But now I am all in with not only Vita, but our entire draft class. Even when the first cb we picked was a little surprising instead of kid from Lsu or Colorado, I still have complete faoth in our Gm and our entire team ! Looks like we definitely got more of a physical team. Im pumped for camp and optimistic about the upcoming season. GO BUCS FIRE THE CANNONS !!!

One thing is for sure with this offseason. Our defense has overgone a major overalhaul. The Dline and Backfield will look completely different from last year. The potential looks great right now.

Will be very interesting to follow this defense and see how it shapes out.

  196. Ryan Beaman Says:

@Joe. Unless I missed it, I haven’t heard Quinton Flowers’ name throughout the entire draft thus far. I Knew that he would be a late draft pick but not one word about Flowers. Have you heard through your sources if there’s any chance of him being an undrafted free agent with the Bucs? Say what you want about his poor quarterback skills, he’s still an amazing talent. Just give the guy a chance and I gaurentee he will be wearing pewter & red. – Thanks

  197. Trench War Says:

  209. JJBucfan Says:

I am happy with the draft overall again, the back half of Lichts drafts always baffle me. There were better players (IMO) than who we drafted available for what we needed, but I guess that is why I do what I do and JL does what he does. The UDFAs are a little bizarre too this year but Iggy is a stud and could make our team. I thought we liked the RB from FSU. I really thought we needed 2 RBs in this draft and then we could send Sims or Rodgers packing for some young blood that would be hungry. Love the RJ pick but thought we shoulda followed it up with another guy on the back end. John Kelley, Bo Scarborough or some guy no one has ever heard of. Jason Licht seems to always go for small schools for his UDFAs I hope one of these guys pans out, he always seems to find one.

  210. MadMax Says:

“Don’t forget D. Walker outta Canada”

No accounting for bad taste. We should have kept him over Bobo, who did absolutely nothing for us. Meanwhile, he had another monster year in the CFL, right?

And considering only one person calls me that, congrats on exposing who you really are. I imagine the Joe will figure it out too at some point.

IP Banning is the only way to go!

  212. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Bonzai you’re a maroon dude. Derel Walker is a no-talent bum who will NEVER make it on ANY NFL roster. Same goes for your man crush Riley Bullough.

He can make it to the CFL hall of fame playing against fellow nobodies. But he does not have the natural ability or skill set to make it in the real Pro league. That’s just a fact, and it is honestly so effing hilarious that you’re still clinging to that bum.

I like Vita Vea a lot, but I have to admit, the fact that you love him as much as you do really worries me. But I guess a broken clock is still right twice a day.
