Miko Grimes’ Weed-Coke PSA

April 4th, 2018

Miko adds clarity

After a hiatus for about six weeks, mercurial NFL super wife Miko Grimes, spouse of Bucs cornerback Brent Grimes, was back delivering her candid, entertaining IHeartMiko Podcast on Sunday.

And she made a firm point to issue a public service announcement for NFL players.

(content may not be suitable for children)

For those unaware, the typical NFL player, not the guy already in the league drug program, is tested for street drugs once per year. It’s a rule in the NFL labor agreement. And if that typical player comes up clean, well, then it’s wait till next year’s test. So the ensuing months can be a green light to smoke weed, for example, with limited concerns.

Miko Grimes wants NFL players to be clear on the rules and she has zero sympathy for any player who gets busted by a failed test. So she’s all about education.

“Football players, please pay attention to me. Please pay attention; April 20, exactly 19 days from now, that’s when you will be able to be tested [by the NFL] for all of your street drugs,” Miko said.

“Ok. That’s the coke and the weed. Those are the only two I’m going to really concern myself with because I know if you ain’t doing coke, you’re doing weed, for the majority of the league. There’s a few that ain’t doing nothing. There’s a sprinkle here and there that’s actually not doing nothing. But the majority of the NFL is doing coke or weed or both.

“So listen, I have studied this; I am a weed smoker. If you stop smoking weed [April 2], you’ll be fine by April 20. You’ll be just fine. Anything after tomorrow, my [N-word], you’re telling me you don’t care about your NFL career, and I don’t care what happens to you. Any of you [N-words] that fail this drug test are stupid as f***. Ok. They give you the dates, ok, from April 20 to training camp you can be randomly tested for street drugs — on any day. It don’t matter if you’re in Dubai, in Africa, wherever you at they pulling up on you ass in 15 minutes with a [N-word] holding your d*** while you piss in a cup making sure that’s your piss. So if you want to keep smoking weed after tomorrow, then you don’t care about your career. … It’s time to stop. After the March Madness [basketball], this is a big way for you to know, after the Madness you must stop smoking weed. Ok. Give it up, the coke, all that. Let it go. Wait for your test. It’s not fu**’n worth it. This is a big PSA for all my football players. Lose it … … until you get your test.

“Now once you get your test you get to roll back up. Some people get their test late-April, early-May, and then they start smoking. You can smoke the whole summer, the whole football season, the offseason and all the way back around to April 2. So this is an education lesson for the fans, as well. [Players] can smoke weed; they just can’t get seen with it at all and they can’t test positive for it from April 20 to training camp. So good luck to all the players. Don’t be stupid. … Don’t lose your career over no weed.”

Bucs fans know all about losing players to drugs. Stupidity can ravage any team.

As for Miko’s commentary, to head off the legions of whiners who will inevitably throw darts at Joe for quoting Miko here, Joe has had one primary rule for operating this site for the past 10 years: the Bucs-related content published is the stuff that interests Joe.

And Joe finds Miko extremely interesting when she’s talking football. Also, Joe knows lots of Buccaneers read this site, so if a player’s wife is going to drop a passionate public service announcement rant like that, then surely Joe is going to share.

  2. John meeks Says:

Preach on miko!she is right!!Preach it miko!!

  3. Lord Cornelius Says:

19 days isn’t typically long enough for an average person but I’d think it’d be enough for a low bodyfat % athlete that is working out all the time

  4. Earl Says:

Vernon Hargraves….are you listening! She may be talking about you! ijs

  5. Evolvingbucfan Says:

    ^^^ I totally read that in Miko’s voice^^^lol

    Tanard Jackson approves this message…

  7. lokog Says:

i was on probation and i would still smoke weed. i would smoke a day before going to get tested. take a 32oz bottle of Gatorade go to Walmart buy a thing called CERTO

  8. lokog Says:

its in the jelly section mix it it with the Gatorade and youll be pissing a lot then take the test and you come out negative on drug test but it only works for weed. make sure you drink a lot of water after finishing the gatorade

  9. Espo Says:

Until I’m legally allowed to, I don’t think they should be either. Still, I hope our guys are disciplined enough to refrain during April at least.

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo definitely read this in Miko’s voice….Pablo loves him sum Miko….Pablo would love to have many, many childrens with Miko….OK, lets skip the childrens and just do that thang! As for weed…..Pablo does Peyote…..does the trick for Pablo”

  11. Jeffbuc Says:

I found myself reading it in a Wanda sykes voice for some reason.

  12. unbelievable Says:

I 100% read that in Miko’s voice! Lol.

Most players in the NFL use mj in one form or another (smoke, vape, edibles). It works far better for pain that the addictive, body crippling pain killers that doctors dole out by the thousands.

Time for the NFL to get with the times. Stop punishing players for using an all natural remedy to combat the physical abuse they put their bodies through.

  13. Joeypoppems Says:

    Miko is great lol

  14. Lamarcus Says:

This is probably why Grimes gets his ankles broke on field….. Consistently!!!

  15. Lamarcus Says:

And maybe why he starts to slip and slide every where on the field

  16. IndyBucsFan Says:

@ Espo, if you live in FL go get a medicinal card, super easy.

But after reading this… its pretty obvious the ol Brent smokes too, glad he has a wife the would whoop him for not quitting at the rite time..

Yo MIKO if you ever wanna burn one down and talk about the world, DM me!!

  17. Bucsfanman Says:

She’s 100% right! You’re an idiot if you get caught!

unbelivable- I agree. Not just the NFL though, the country. I cannot partake because of my license but I am not going to begrudge individuals for doing it. Alcohol is a FAR worse vice IMO, and the statistics 1 million % prove it.

    Preach on Miko!

  18. BringBucsBack Says:

In your best Jeff Spicoli voice:

Duuuude….April 2nd, I was supposed to do something. I wish I could remember? Is that Doritos bag empty?

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

So…wait until you get tested then light up?

And what about the random testing throughout the season?

  20. Mr Ed Says:

She does an awesome job, and I laughed by tail off reading it.

  21. Hodad Says:

I guess VH3 is taking his mentors wife’s advice, and getting his weed smoking in before the testing deadline. So there, VH3 is learning from grimes.

  22. Kevin Nieto Says:

That woman is a treasure – A GODDAMN TREASURE

  23. DoNUTS Says:

Dear NFL Fat guys on the OL and DL….you need the full 30 days IMO. Weed/THC is stored in fat cells in the body.

Since Miko is being real, I would also say that the NFL is fully aware of this standard practice and that if they were really serious about removing drugs from NFL that hair test would be required not pee- which can be more easily manipulated. The NFL is a business and has always done whatever was needed to keep the business intact. For example, denying CTE exists, fighting player support for financial instability due to game related medical care, and steroids in the 80-90s-current. The history is all there and we should not expect different behavior from the league. NFL #1.

    90 days on hair test.

  24. Pickgrin Says:

Its shameful that this is even an issue.

Feds and the NFL need to lose this “reefer madness” mentality that keeps the legit medicinal qualities of cannabis from those who can really benefit from it.

Studies have already shown that THC/CBD is one of the most useful substances available for treating all grades of head concussion. And we KNOW how much the NFL wants to “protect” its players from both short and long term effects of concussions – right?

These players have tons of aches and pains through out the season by the very nature of their “work” – and that’s if they stay 100% “healthy”. To deny them (as well as every American citizen) a pain and stress relieving option that has no side effects and no chance of overdose or physical addiction is downright criminal at this point IMO.

But hey – as long as Big Pharma is making Billions and the politicians in Washington are getting plenty of trickle down for maintaining the reefer madness status quo – its all good right?

  25. Gman Says:

    She is such trash

  26. BucTrooper Says:

There’s a part of me that wants to hate her for putting this message out there, but then there’s a part of me that wants to hate every NFL player who is too stupid not to realize what she’s saying on their own.

  27. TrollSlayer Says:

if you are a regular smoker whether you have a percentage of fat cells or not weed usually takes 30 days at least to fully cleanse from the body and im surprised NFL execs hasnt seen this and taken some action shes only blowing the whole deal for players and could provoke harsher drug regiments

  28. TrollSlayer Says:

what an idiot sorry i know JBF and some fans like miko but i think shes a moronic blowhard with the typical ebony diva attitude youre not beyonce bi@tch give it a rest

  29. Walter Seidel Says:

“Mike” Grimes? She’s a foolish cartoonish character, and quoting her verbatim diminishes this site, the Bucs, and the game of football itself.

  30. pick6 Says:

the league and the union are both clear on the giant loopholes in the testing system. it’s a result of collective bargaining that allowed both the players and the owners claim victory for their side on the drug testing front and shift negotiations back to dollars. Unfortunately in collective bargaining nothing comes just because it’s sensible or fair. Less draconic testing is badly wanted by the players union and the owners know it, so they will not give an inch on it until players give up dollars or some degree of labor freedom in return. The NFLPA and its members will have to decide next time around – is smoking weed for 100% of the year rather then some amount between 66 and 99% of the year worth less revenue share? more\tougher offseason practices? a tighter conduct policy? It’s a business question and not a moral or social one

I’m betting most agents, as pragmatic as they are, give the same or similar advice to their players that Miko shared

  31. SteelStudBuc Says:

Aspirin vitamins water every 4 hours for 4 days.
Toss in some cranberry juice…. bam.
Vitamins keep it yellow make it look like u ain’t diluting. Aspirin blocks thc. Done this and succeeded 3 times.

  32. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Pickgrin

Amen brother. A new fact has just emerged that also adds to your point. In states with legal weed the opiod abuse drops.

I know a young man who couldn’t bust a drug test because he would have lost his job. He found a product that claimed it could clear you in four days. He also bought some drug test kits. He used the product and was actually clean in 3 days. But it was nasty…lots of diarrhea and nasty crap out his butt. Still it worked.

  33. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Trollslayer

You are missing her main point. Reality is that the NFL…and many other organizations…do NOT want to really catch their employees. They are still stuck in the reefer madness game where they feel forced to police their employees.

But they do not want to park their best players so they make the testing so obvious that as Miko pointed out there is really no reason to fail one.

This is true for a growing number of employers who need their staff.

It’s just a matter of time until it’s legal and then what? Punish folks for what they did last night and what might be in their blood from a month ago instead of poor job performance and bad behavior?

Again Dock Ellis pitched his no hitter on acid…while tripping out…are they going to take that no hitter out of the record books?

  34. Lamarcus Says:

Trollslayer is trolling. Omg. Where is tmaxcon? At least he kept 100

  35. Mike Johnson Says:

A refined or classy woman..she is not!

  36. Walter Says:

She’s trying to help people keep their careers on track. I commend her for that.

  37. HowToSpellRhonde Says:

Nothing will change for the better with federal weed laws as long as we have an idiot hick like Jeffery Beauregard Sessions as attorney general.

  38. adam from ny Says:

if an nfl dude rolls up on your ass all wild style, pulls your pants down, pops out your shlongerooski, and holds it snuggly while spanking your butt with his other hand saying “make pee pee mofo make pee pee” (in an asian voice)…then this is some really wild type sheet…i’d be all shook if this is really the scenario…i don’t know if i can deal with it if i’m vacationing in dubai or africa…or shooting dope in an ybor city guavaween hoe’s back alley chill spot

  39. BucEmUp Says:

Lokog, yep Certo. It’s been about 15 years since I’ve done that, I recall having to drink about a gallon of water with it but worked every time

  40. Marc Says:

It pretty funny, tbh. The NFLs biggest sponsors are alcohol companies. The last thing they want to see is a their sponsored athletes smoking weed, yet almost ALL of them do. Hell, they not only do it, they glorify it, and complain that they are even being tested in the first place. It time to just cut all the BS out and let them have at it, imo.

So…wait until you get tested then light up?

And what about the random testing throughout the season?
    ————————————————————————

One test between April 20 and training camp. If the player fails that initial test, then they are placed in the program and randomly tested.

  42. DislocatedBucsFan Says:

Are they not allowed to be tested throughout the year due to the bargaining agreement? Can the clubs impose further testing? IDK about you guys but what she did casts a light on all players. The fact of the matter is that illicit drug use shines a negative connotation on the teams and players. If I was an owner of one of these teams I would test frequently and often. That way all punishments and reprimands are handled in house. Many youth look up to these guys and they should be setting good examples for them. Now the glazers and america know that pot is in the grimes home. I’d argue that her admission to usage is grounds for search of her premises and could result in legal action against her. Not a smart move providing admission of guilt. Her actions could impact Brent.

I dont think its likely, but possible. Weed shouldn’t be a drug though. EtOH is much much worse.

  43. Dave Says:

Personally, I don’t get it at all.
Just have some damn self discipline and don’t do any drugs until your career is over. Period.
It’s not worth it at all.
    Not even close.
But that’s me, I don’t do anything and haven’t touched weed in years because, basically, I grew up

  44. Pryda ...sec147 Says:

I hope one day I run into Miko going to fresh kitchen or something and I’ll be like let’s spark up match me

  45. Alanbucs Says:

So the message is do drugs, just don’t get caught. This is terrible for the kids.

  46. TexasStickCarrier Says:

She makes a damn good point. Preach ma’am!

  47. SB Says:

^^^^^^^^ That too. Among all the other things I am thinking about this VERY Disturbing message being sent out by a “Super Wife”. IMO this is not only a racist message but a Stupid mentality message. I just lost the last bit of respect I had for her.

  48. SB Says:

My “^^^^^^’s were at Alan’s comments

  49. SB Says:

WOW! Miko is Epitomizing Racism! WTF? Learn how to talk!

  50. SB Says:

Epitomizing not the right word. Perpetuating would be more appropriate verbiage.

  51. cmurda Says:

The best thing about resigning Brent for another year is that we also resigned Miko. I respectfully love that woman.

  52. unbelievable Says:

I like Miko to be honest. She’s a little foul-mouthed and definitely acts ghetto, but she’s actually correct about many of the subjects she speaks on. She’s just trying to look out for the rookies and help them keep their jobs, I can respect that.

I do agree she doesn’t need to be dropping n-bombs every other sentence, but whatever- bigger fish to fry.

Time to stop punishing people for weed. Simple as that.

It’s far less dangerous than alcohol, and definitely less dangerous than the big-pharma prescribed poisons that we use for “pain killers”.

  53. TampaTown Says:

Miko is awesome! Love her or hate her that girl is real! I disagree with her on many, many things and I still love her. I wish she would be a NFL agent. She’d shake up the whole d@mn place.

  54. Horse Liver Says:

Miko knows exactly what she is saying and to whom. She is trying to alert the NFL to test cocaine more, while also being more lenient about weed. It’s obvious.

  55. Thespiritof1976 Says:

    Typical no good ghetto trash.

  56. Clodhopper Says:

Shes absolutely correct. 100% spot on!! She talks like a dick but shes right. Reminds me of YOUR favorite president: 45

  57. KfromFLA Says:

One can have no middle ground with Miko, and I think she thrives on that. Miko is the REALEST personality in sports. She says what she means and does not care what you think about it. It is called courage, unafraid of what how YOUR expectations for her make you view her. One thing about Miko, you never have to worry that she just lied about what she really thinks. I for one respect that.

  58. Mike Johnson Says:

Miko..Just the kind of woman YOu would luv to take to the family barbeque and introduce her to your white family. I can hear her now with her greetings to my family..Whats up my N.s!

  59. Debilah Says:

Lamarcus, when you comment about my son, make sure you know what you are talking about, just thought you should know ahead of time.

  60. buccan8 Says:

Anybody who watched that Hard Knocks episode where Brent and Miko were on the couch during an interview in their home KNOW–Brent was HIGH AF, but clearly was coached by Miko to not LOOK high af. So he focused on some weird spot on the wall, trying not to imagine Miko coming out of that birthday cake (but maybe he was more interested in cake at that moment?!). Dude was just looking creepy.

When did HK do that interview? If it wasn’t *during* training camp (which, according to Miko, is green light time for lighting up the green), it would have been when HK crews were following players around during the Summer. Knowing now how Miko goes all Gregorian about this, I think it’s pretty safe to say Brent had just aced his wiz quiz, whenever it was.
