Alex Cappa Highlights

April 27th, 2018

Joe knows one guy that likes this pick.

When it was announced the Bucs selected guard Alex Cappa from Division-II Humboldt State, NFL draft guru Mike Mayock of NFL Network howled in glee how violent Cappa is.

Watch for yourself.

I LOVE how Licht has been gathering nasty big dudes. My heart is happy.

  2. SOEbuc Says:

    Bulldozer

  3. AL121976 Says:

What did we give up to trade up?

  4. JabooBuc Says:

So basically this guy had a decent Senior Bowl week and parlayed that into a 3rd round pick. He played against really poor competition and his measurable’s are really bad.

Hope it works out but these are the type of picks where Licht loses me. Sometimes it looks like he’s trying too hard to be the smartest guy in the room.

  5. William Berry Says:

    A man among boys.

  6. DB55 Says:

their 104th pick in the fourth round and 180th pick in the sixth round to make the deal.

Found this article about Cappa–dude is motivated–sounds really like a smart, capable guy with upside once he gets beefed up with proper food and weight room workouts

    JabooBuc.

Turn that frown upside down man

  9. JabooBuc Says:

ShutTheBucUp: not upset or negative. Love what the Bucs have done both in the offseason and during this draft. Just questioning the need to move up for this particular player.

Definitely hope he works out but seems like a reach to me.

  10. ShutTheBucUp Says:

We all said the same thing about Ali Marpet and kwon too. We’re just going to have to trust that Jason sees something in him that nobody else does. Although I am wondering why he traded up for him when he probably would have been there for us anyway.

I’m more concerned about that first cornerback that we took. I trust Jason when it comes to the OL, that’s his specialty. But he’s pretty unproven at drafting corners.

  11. Mtbucsfan Says:

The next Ali Marpet if there’s one thing Licht is good as is finding beasts that are somewhat over looked. Unless it’s a kicker at that point he’s Mr Magoo!!!

  12. JabooBuc Says:

Well, i actually loved Ali and really loved Kwon when they were drafted. Ali’s combine matched his play at the Senior Bowl and his tape. This guy, not so much.

    Again, hope it works out.

  13. webster Says:

You guys kill me. Teams dont trade up just to trade up. Alot of times they have intel on what teams may be interested in doing. Case in point, the eagles traded up one pick in front of dallas to pick a tight end. Why? Because dallas was targeting him due to whitten’s retirement. Some of you guys said the same thing about marpet when licht traded up for him. You said marpet would have been there. You dont know that and if you want your guy, you have to go get him. Crying about whether or not a player is worth trading up for when you have never been a gm and you dont have any intel on what other teams are targeting is pointless and is the very definition of arm chair gm.

  14. pekkerrinne Says:

doods got feet of stone in pass blocking. maybe move him to guard?

  15. The Armchair Athlete Says:

Yep, Ali Marpet was a three-year starter at Left Tackle for Hobart College, we drafted him early, and he has been a great interior lineman for us since Day 1. It worked out for us last time, maybe we’ll strike gold twice!

  16. OneBucPerson Says:

Fantastic pick, now we have an out to cut Sweezy and save some money for extensions for our 2015 players.

  17. Kevinator Says:

He is definitely going to be Sweezy’s replacement. We are going to be mean and nasty af up front.

  18. BoJim Says:

Finally got some long hairs on this team. And one is a Tongan with hair that rivals Troy Polamalu’s.

  19. Horse Liver Says:

To the person who questioned Licht moving up five spots and giving away virtually nothing for the chance to grab a guy they like — STFU.

  20. Horse Liver Says:

@Webster — right on, excellent take.

  21. USFBUC Says:

@ Horse Liver – bingo! People getting excited about trading away a sixth round pick is silly. Licht could trade away our 5th-7th round picks every year and it wouldn’t phase me much less impact the team.

  22. Baker Mayfield Says:

After RJ II this draft is garbage. Look at the tape of this guy most of the time he’s blocking a highschool DE

  23. NCFlorIdiot Says:

I’m trusting Licht… Watching the highlights on him didn’t do anything for me… He could be a bad ass or a scrub?? Just a long time Bucs fan, frustrated and excited like the rest of you… Go Bucs!

  24. NCFlorIdiot Says:

It just seems slipping back 7 spots at the end of the 2nd round and having our original pick go for a cornerback and another after that, then we pick a cornerback after all that… was it so we could get this O-line guy? Doesn’t add up to me… Feels like the Patriots got the better end of that deal… All said, I do believe in Licht, just my gut tells me that trade wasn’t the best

  25. stvcl Says:

    Be afraid Sweezy…be very afraid.

  26. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Man…all some of you do is whine. I actually miss the days when only the real fans were around…

  27. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Look up more highlights. Those were not the best available. The NFLN showed a lot better.

  28. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

My only concerns with Vita is weight control and he seems too nice. I hope he’s meaner on the field, lol.
