Good Vibes
March 26th, 2018It seems one NFL analyst likes the offseason of Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.
The Bucs were having a pedestrian offseason but the trade for Jason Pierre-Paul last week sealed the deal for Chris Roling of Bleacher Report, who suggests NFC South teams should be looking over their shoulders.
The Buccaneers don’t have the vibe of a team that spent big money unwisely, and they still possess a top-10 pick. The NFC South could have a big problem on its hands next season.
The big key is JPP. If he can toss opposing quarterbacks to the dirt with regularity, there is no telling how much that can help the defense.
Roling believes the free agent class of the Bucs warrants a grade of “B.”

Add Early to the depth and a good draft class should make the team better on paper.

We need a CB. I’d prefer improving the pass rush without giving up draft capital but I like JPP. W need more draft capital and a few solid top picks.

Licht must be counting on some secondary help from upcoming releases as salary load is balanced, then the draft, and more turnover into training camp and preseason. It is scary to think about the current DB personnel being the answer.

The draft can’t come soon enough!

I’m surprised licht gave up the money to a kicker instead of ej gaines. Makes me think he’s set on selecting a cb in the draft .

Meant to say cb in first round of draft

I agree they might draft a CB unfortuanately, I with Joe I have no faith they can develope what they have or CB in the draft!

“The NFC South could have a big problem on its hands next season”
We thought this last season and we were an embarrassment. Lets see where we are after week 8 to start giving out grades.

@Joe … “Roling believes the free agent class of the Bucs warrants a grade of “B.” Personally think it rates an even higher rating … to this point. Bucs still have major issues at RB, LG, CB & SS. Beyond that, we still need another beastly DT & DE, plus depth-depth-depth across the board to compete in the NFC South. Hopefully Licht isn’t done in FA, and hopefully he picks well in the draft. Cautiously optimistic …

Assuming Barkley, Nelson, and Chubb is off the board…
Rd1. Derwin James (S)
Rd2. Mike Hughes (CB)
Rd4. (G)
Rd5. (RB)
…

Can we at least put these clowns on the field first before giving them a grade of “B”?

The major problem last year, to many distractions in the preseason, which totally left this team unprepared. This rests solely on the coaches shoulders.
Hopefully this year will be totally different.

I’ve checked 3 sources and according to them we have appx $30 mil left in cap space….I’m not certain that is a reliable number but if it is, we certainly have enough to sign a top-tier CB.
There most certainly be top players available after the draft…..there will be teams unloading players for cap purposes.
I’d like to see us pick up a CB or S….perhaps a RB or G.
We definitely have options facing us with our #1 pick and can probably find a really good RB in round 2…probably a developmental DE in round 4. I’d use our higher picks to trade down.

Bnomo
Also there’s a head case behind center who thinks he $h!t$ gold

Please Mr. Glazers, in order for you not to fire me at the end of the season, I need to spend some good money& this time I will do it wisely ! Two of the 3 dodo birds shake their heads in approval while the 3rd one he has to wait until Trump walks in order to see that head shake..

BS on coaches “developing” players………maybe teach a system or a few techniques….but bottom line…either you have NFL game or you don’t….coaches can’t turn any player into something they are not or will never become

One buc 55
Agree with you except after James and Hughes picks , they need to do whatever they can to move far enough ahead for best runningback.
3 absolute biggest needs are strong safety , db and running back. You can get away with one average guard if center and other guard are maulers.

@Tampabaybucfan
look for a couple of extensions of Buc players just before or at the start of training camp!!!!!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!!

Altered, I believe you’re right that they either have an NFL game or they don’t but, if you are correct about the coaches then why do so many former Bucs players become Ballers once they leave?
Some guys “develop” late. Who helps in the developmental process?
March 26th, 2018 at 9:26 am
Yes we have major holes in the secondary, but because we are not sure what the draft will bring us unless we can get them at a really good price right now we should hold tight until after the draft. I feel like the DBs that are available now half of them will still be there.

JPP and Vinny Curry baby! They’ll get some attention for sure.
Beau Allen should free up the LBs more than Swaggy.
Love the Jensen signing. Now they just need Nelson or Derwin.

It seems pretty much most off-seasons we get great grades for adding talent to the roster. At this point I think the coaches have to get the job DONE! Koetter x BFF Smith. To a lesser degree Koetter, b/c he’s done pretty well overall. I think Smith is the problem & if we’re not successful you can blame him for getting a good head x GM fired.
