Thursday Night’s Blessing
December 8th, 2017Joe was ecstatic when the Falcons (8-5) beat the Saints (9-4) last night on a terrible fourth-quarter interception by Drew Brees.
It was good for the Bucs on one important level.
Tampa Bay finishes this season with a home game against the Saints on Dec. 31. So now it’s virtually assured that New Orleans will need that game to either clinch the division, or to lock up a Wild Card spot or better seeding.
Remember, Carolina is 8-4 and finishes the year at Atlanta on the same date and time.
That’s awesome. The Bucs, and their fans, don’t need to see a Saints team come in here with nothing play for.
Everyone needs to know what the Bucs truly are made of in these final four games. It’ll be great to see Tampa Bay compete against a desperately motivated Saints club in a season finale. And now it appears we’ll get to see just that.

Good for the Bucs? I watched this game and simply thought
THESE TEAMS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE BUCS IT’S NOT FUNNY!
Only served to show how bad the Bucs are, how they’ve fallen and how far behind they are talent-wise behind the other teams in the division.

Your just saying that for another opportunity for dirk to keep his job but the only reason he isn’t as pathetic as Lovie is it’s his first head coach job, many head coach aren’t ready their first time but do better the second time around, that is dirk he’s simply not the guy
December 8th, 2017 at 9:26 am
OMG.. you mean other “Top Tier” QBs throw bad interceptions at the worst times. Marty ice had 3 I think. 1 in the end zone 1 at the end of the half with 14 seconds left that gave the Saints a chance at a FG.

Run the table !….the offseason will be here soon enough …..long…long offseason
December 8th, 2017 at 9:33 am
Yeah that’s what we want to see, a better team in our division with something to play for.. Really looking forward to that.
December 8th, 2017 at 9:36 am
^^^ defeatist….never win at anything with that attitude…SMH
December 8th, 2017 at 9:38 am
I am as disappointed as any Bucs fan.
Matt Ryan threw three picks last night and still won. If the Bucs did something like that they would loose by 30.
The problem areas of the team have been amplified by the poor coaching.
The Bucs need a fresh start at leadership. The defensive coaching has been beyond atrocious this year.
Make the Bucs great again by getting Gruden back, sign Lamarcus Joyner and Malcom Butler in free agency and get Brent Grimes back for another year.
Have a draft that looks like this:
1) Bradley Chubb DE NC State
2) Damien Harris RB Alabama
3) Duke Ejiofor DE Wake Forest
4) Ike Boettger OT Iowa
5) Jerry Tillery DT Notre Dame
6) Davontae Harris CB Illinois State
6) Cole Reyes SS North Dakota
and see what Gruden and a competent defensive coordinator can do with this team.

@AlteredEgo You’re right. I see the same attitude on the field every Sunday.
December 8th, 2017 at 9:43 am
Wausa…there is plenty of blame to go around…coaches and players….impossible to single one without addressing the other….the coaches are not bad…either are the players….just need to put it all together one game at a time over the next 4 weeks….

Mike Smith doesn’t coordinate offense for the Falcons so why is it his fault Julio Jones had a career day?
December 8th, 2017 at 10:05 am
My exact thoughts there TOM. I watched the game last night and thought..man, look at these 2 energetic talented teams duke it out. I wish my Bucs had this kind of fight in them! And Claybon is playin like a guy possessed for the Falcons. Didn’t we let him go? Bucs need a CHUBB..in the draft!
December 8th, 2017 at 10:13 am
Clayborn always played with fire
December 8th, 2017 at 10:24 am
Sounds like this Joe is thinking about a draft pick. At least, that’s the impression this story gives me. I could be wrong though…

ugggh…..SO TIRED of the hip hop hoorah in the final games…same story…….and this year all it means for this years team is a guaranteed

Yesterday’s game is proof that you loud mouth brainless degenerates have absolutely zero clue wtf your talking about and that your prejudices far out way your love for football.
You are a joke now, have always been and will forever be a complete joke.
December 8th, 2017 at 11:07 am
LOL, yea last night’s blessing was that it ensured we will finished in the bottom cellar of the NFC south, even if we win out the rest of the schedule (which obviously won’t happen)
December 8th, 2017 at 11:15 am
A joke you say, OK. Tampa police are reporting a Bucs fan left two tickets to this weeks game at Raymond James on his dashboard in his locked car parked at the mall as he did holiday shopping. When he returned to the car, sure enough the windshield was smashed and there 100 more tickets added on the dashboard.

The Yucs are playing for draft position in early December. What a waste of a franchise.

First off “other top-tier QBs”, implies Jameis is one….hilarious! Yea they do but not consistently. How many playoff games has Jameis been in?
December 8th, 2017 at 11:33 am
Matty Bum is a trash QB, the facts speaks louder than these idiots. Drew Brees was doomed once Alvin Kamara went out.It was back to the old Drew Brees, throwing dumb picks.

AlteredEgo
Matt Ryan threw 3 interceptions and Drew Brees threw an interception in the red zone that ended the game. Jameis Winston throws know interception, has a fumble that would not have happened if he had just given up on the play, bringing his team from behind to winning the game by three points in the fourth quarter, and you insulted Jameis Winston with ill will. One would think that Jameis Winston did something to you like caused you to lose millions of dollars.

So we can plan on getting their best. Great news….if the objective is to obtain the best draft choice we can.
December 8th, 2017 at 1:30 pm
4-12
December 8th, 2017 at 1:34 pm
JBF, Everyone already knows what these Bucs are made of and it’s 4-8 with a spineless defense, questionable offense and lots of excuse makers. I too was also reminded watching the game last night how far apart the Bucs are from the Panthers, Saints and Falcons. Please fire the GM and coaches!
December 8th, 2017 at 2:29 pm
^^^BAM!!!! Night and freakin’ day apart Pelbuc.
Last night’s game proved just how soft this football team is. 4-12 is a realistic ending to this season.

No one is reading your blog, so you have to go come to Joe’s for attention?

Revenge for them killing our season last year perhaps?
December 9th, 2017 at 12:35 am

If Jameis has the exact same game as Matt Ryan had against the Saints, the difference is that the Bucs will lose by 28 rather than win by 3 … the Falcons TEAM is a good one … we may have the better QB but we don’t have the better TEAM … Matt Ryan can throw 3 picks and they can still win … that’s a good TEAM!

Each of the 3 units has taken turns breaking down at key moments to lose games this year
The talent level is not the issue
Lost by missed FGs early, twice gave up late 4th qtr leads, multiple punts blocked and big returns given up….
It’s not just one problem
It systemic it appears
