“He Got His Flight Already”

Adarius Glanton gets humiliated on national TV

Bucs linebacker Adarius Glanton suffered an ugly leg injury last night against the Falcons, but he also bruised the pride of the Tampa Bay organization with a shameful loaf.

And he got called out on it.

Just when Joe finally got over the brutal loaf by Brent Grimes in the previous game (video here), Glanton had to go ahead and give up on a Devonta Freeman run last night.

On NFL Network after the game, Reggie Bush and Reggie Wayne showed the film and blasted Glanton. Bush even said, “He got his flight already.”

Disgraceful stuff.

Bush goes on to dissect poor mental play by Robert Ayers and Kwon Alexander and says “Tampa Bay’s defense didn’t show up today.”

Joe still can’t believe how poor some of the Bucs’ tackling was through the game. Kwon had 13 solo tackles but still managed to have Bucs fans pulling their hair out. T.J. Ward? The way he tackles most of the time he might as well have no arms.

Glanton has had a ton more of positives than that one play. Seriously JOE, there have been a 100 of these types of plays. Glanton has done well with the little time he has played. I refuse to take part in the bashing. There were far more positives last night than negatives. They picked apart the bucs because they are losing this season. They hyped the Falcons because they won.

  2. AlteredEgo Says:

Teams don’t practice much if any full speed contact in practice….league wide there is a lot of knock down hits rather than blow up tackles….that said our DB’s laid some fly into the hole collisions last night

  3. Mike Johnson Says:

Thi Buc Defense with the exception of maybe 5 players needs to be gutted and replaced. Save the Charmin tissues for losers! Get us a fire up Defensive coordinator who roams the sidelines with his troops instead of eating nachos in the PressBox. You’d think since sitting upstairs all yr long did no good, DC pressbox Smitty would make a..surprise cameo appearance on the sidelines..Just once to rally his platoons. Nope, he’s comfortable up there on his perch looking down on his minions. Fire Smitty..today if not sooner!!

  4. mike10 Says:

Was that the play Ward got (another) concussion?

What causes a defense to not show up like that? Honestly, I want to know. Is it coaching?

  5. AlteredEgo Says:

I can’t even listen to that blow hard…

  6. derrickbrooksforGM Says:

Not sure if it’s cause of the injury but Kwon has been really bad against the run this year. He can’t get off his blocks. More concerning is Beckwith, I thought his bigger frame would make him more of a force in the run game but he keeps getting washed out by his blockers as well. They lack physicality and that’s because their camp was a breeze. If Koetter stays, then I hope he hits a lot more as early as possible.

  7. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Our defense has just been down right bad. Someone will pay for this and I believe it will be coach Smith. Man I wish we had gotten Swartz when we had the chance. Go Bucs!

  8. derrickbrooksforGM Says:

What does “got his flight already” even mean? LOL

  9. Bucsfanman Says:

Yep, but somehow, some kind of way, we’ll find a way to blame this on a DT!
Why? Why is TJ Ward on the field?! Can anyone answer this question?! Conte looks like an All-Pro compared to Ward!
    Wow, just wow!

  10. Bucsfan951 Says:

tmax: yeah because the defense didn’t play with any heart during the pats game. You’re so lame, dude. Now go ahead and talk about me being a nut hugger of gmc and fan boy… you’re so predictable. I feel bad for your ex wife and kids!

  11. Bucsfan951 Says:

^^^ wow that was meant for another article. Joe, your site took me to the wrong article 😉

  12. 813bucboi Says:

that’s been the theme of the year….either the defense doesn’t show up or the offense doesn’t show up…..that points to coaching….falcons fans were clowning us….nfl network was clowning us….that was another embarrassing performance….GO BUCS!!!!

  13. Lakeland Says:

The Falcons had twice as many negative plays than the Bucs. Devonta Freeman fumbles, drop passes, missed tackles, stupid penalties, Matt Ryan missing wide open receivers etc. I don’t watch these Dumb Clowns on television, and I don’t listen to them on radio.

  14. DB55 Says:

The defense hasn’t shown up all year.

Gave up 200 yards rushing twice this year
Gave up 150+ yards rushing six times this year.

Gave up 300+ yards passing in 7 games including:

    301- Mike Glennon
    369- case Keemun
    303- Brady
365 – Mia with Matt Moore throwing for 285 in relief
    317- Ryan
    381 – Stafford

So if you think the dline was missing McIceCream last night you’re wrong. In the 2 games with ATL in the past 3 weeks:

    W McCoy v wo McCoy

    34 points v 24 points
11/14 third down conv vs. 9/15
    516 total yards v 410
    368 pass yards v 209
    148 rush yards v 201
    75% comp v 54% comp

    Same team 3 weeks apart.

  15. John Says:

    That’s not loafing

  16. Bucamania Says:

The front 7 was horrific last night.

How many TD saving tackles did Conte have? Poor guy got trucked like 10X.

  17. Bucamania Says:

Glanton got abused by Freeman all night and the Falsons all night. Then again the pass rush was non-existent so that didn’t help.

  18. BigHogHaynes Says:

@DB55 : Those numbers numbers….really…they mean absolutely nothing!!!!!

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    “Media cannot be played”

  20. DB55 Says:

They mean the McIceCream does nothing to improve this defense. They play harder without him/her/it whatever.

  21. ATrain Says:

    I’ve seen others loaf
Joe can you write on all Players please

This team HAS to get a Win Attitude

Look at the side line during the game it’s oh well we are flat today attitude

  22. Lakeland Says:

    Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense 2015

    Rushing 1606 Yards

    Passing Yards 3840

    Sacks 38

    Tampa bay Buccaneers Defense 2017

    Rushing 1673

    Passing 3798

    Sacks 18

    There’s still two games left

  23. Tackleblockwin Says:

Bucamania so true about poor Conte. He took on RBs coming at him full speed numerous times last night.

  24. 813bucboi Says:

and we maxed out at 21 points yet again….GO BUCS!!!!

  25. 813bucboi Says:

    @Lakeland

and people will still sit here and say this defense is better than what we had in 2015…..GTFOH!!!!

    PS…..WHERES @REALIST?……GO BUCS!!!!

  26. DoNUTS Says:

    DB55

Put an asterick on those numbers…in game 1 we had Julio being covered by a rookie. In game 2, he was covered by Grimes, who plays like an all-pro when needed. There is the difference not GMC.

  27. Lord Cornelius Says:

    @DB55

Yep. I don’t even care about the stats. Visually our pass rush was better with GMC out.

His style of play is NOT conducive to the D_line playing better. He has never made any player around him better; and players like McDonald looked better playing next to someone else.

I am not a D-line expert; but it seems like McCoy is an all or nothing player. Either he gets in with a first step and can get some disruption / pressure; or he is completely taken out of the play. And I’ve seen him quit on those type of plays instead of hussling through it and still trying to make a play.

I’m done. Move him for an ice cream sandwich if that’s all you can get.

  28. Bradinator Says:

For a microcosm, on one play I watched as all four Dlinemen got squished into one pile during the worst looking stunt I’ve ever seen. Looked like when the 3 Stooges (in this case 4 Stooges) try to go through a door at the same time. Don’t any of them have a spin move or ANY kind of move?! The way ATL ran sweeps, it was like we were playing without the benefit of having DEs or OLBs. That’s scheme and a complete inability to adjust. There is not a single coach on the Defensive side of the ball that should have a have a job after the season is over.

  29. Bucsfanman Says:

Yea, I don’t know where you guys saw all this “fire”. What I saw was a d-line that got pushed around, LBs out of position, safeties getting ankles broken, and tackles being missed all over the place! Did I miss something? Oh, that’s right, Julio didn’t hang 200+ yards on us.
Can we please stop putting TJ Ward on the field?! Please?!

  30. DB55 Says:

Grimes didn’t follow jones. They were playing the same tired zone as usual.

  31. Bucsfanman Says:

Oh, and 10 players on the field in the red zone! Yea, they played lights out!!!

  32. Bucsfanman Says:

The fact is that we don’t have much talent on that side of the ball. We adjusted to Julio and the Falcons adjusted to us adjusting (aka Davonte Freeman!).

  33. BucTrooper Says:

I couldn’t get through the whole video. They’re just shooting fish in a barrel pointing out how poorly coached and undisciplined they are.

  34. Mike Johnson Says:

Our Offense outplayed theirs. What does this tell you Einsteins? Steive Wonder can see it without..DC Smitty’s binoculars!!

  35. Trubucfan22 Says:

Glanton is a back up. Did we expect him to play at the level of LVD? Did we expect him to cover freeman one on one and win that matchup? No we didn’t. No use pouring salt on the wound.

  36. Destinjohnny Says:

In the end u have to not like ur coach.
We have 6-10 talent and I get that
    But no lack of effort

  37. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Destin Johnny their record is going to say they have 4-12 talent in two weeks.

  38. firethecannons Says:

    @DB55
seeing it your way. GMC aint really making a difference in results for us

lots btchn bout the knees, crying on the field-needed consoling–wtf

big money for him, getting into his older years

maybe we could get a second rounder

    vita vea?
