Gerald McCoy Talks About His Pain
December 10th, 2017Gerald McCoy is in pain.
Emotional pain and physical pain.
And now that pain is too much to bear.
McCoy left today’s loss to the Lions in the first half. It was reported as a biceps/shoulder injury. Fans watching on TV watched him appear to cry on the sidelines.
In today’s postgame locker room, McCoy said he believes he was injured on the first play of the game and fought through the pain until he couldn’t take it any longer.
Asked whether it’s a serious injury, McCoy said he’s not sure and he’ll have an MRI soon to find out. McCoy has had shoulder and biceps issues previously, and he said this injury feels similar but different.
Joe hopes McCoy finds a way to battle through the final three games. Joe has no problem typing the Bucs have no shot against Matt Ryan, Cam Newton and Drew Brees in the final three games without McCoy.
Clinton McDonald is still out with a bad back, and Chris Baker, well, he’s got three games left as a Buccaneer. Defensive end Robert Ayers, who took many snaps for McCoy at defensive tackle when McCoy went down today, doesn’t have enough to hold down the position.

Dirk Koetter needs to stay in games to keep his job. One blowout? And he’s outta here. I know many of you knock Mccoy. But he is a warrior. He plays hard and is doubled every game. If we had more McCoys on this team we would not be in the Dilly Dilly dungeon now!!
December 10th, 2017 at 6:15 pm
get well soon mccoy I’ll miss you!
December 10th, 2017 at 6:16 pm
GMC welcome rto our world, every game we watch you in we are in far worse pain than you are experiencing
December 10th, 2017 at 6:18 pm
Tmax he will be back here next season…….And each loss gets us closer and closer to your boy Gruden. That should be a fun combo.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:20 pm
gruden is not the answer. living in the past is for losers… gmc better take a pay cut if he is going to be back. bucs have real men to pay soon.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:24 pm
Boo Hoo Batman has a boo boo 😢

gruden is equally responsible for the current playoff drought as schiano, lovie, koetter and raheem. so let’s bring back a has been that started the playoff failures in the first place. only a bucfan would think like that.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:26 pm
I said last week that the Bucs will get a Top-5 draft pick. These are the new standings.
Cleveland 0-13
Giants 2-11
Colts 3-10
49ers 3-10
Denver 3-9 (winning 20-0)
Bucs 4-9
Houston 4-9
Chicago 4-9
Houston plays the Colts
Denver plays the Colts
Chicago plays the Browns
The Bucs plays the Falcons,Panthers,Saints
December 10th, 2017 at 6:26 pm
Well then Tmax..Who is? the answer. Koetter and pressbox Smitty certainly are not!

it does not matter who with the glazers in charge the bucs are destined to live in the basment until ownership changes or brings in a true president not some has been ex coach or has been player either. fresh eyes with complete control.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:29 pm
He needs surgery. Time to start thinking about replacing him anyway. He’s an older player now. He wasted his prime years on bad teams. That’s the tragedy of has career. Kinda like Paul Gruber did here.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:30 pm
Paul Gruber never quit on coaches like cancer93 has with multiple coaches.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:31 pm
Deeyham Tmax..You are even less optimistic than me. I thought our Bucs fought hard today. But something has to change with this franchise. Its like a Jinx. When Detroit got the ball at the end, my wife shouted..Watch’em score. And they did. WE..gotta change man.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:31 pm
Gmc doesn’t play another snap his days are over. Should been done along time ago. Gmc fanboys the defense looked the same when he went out proves he is overrated trash.
Get jw some real warriors on defense and we are game.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:31 pm
tmax…that is low and cruel…

i am a realist sir. the glazer clowns have beat me into submission with their failed attempt to field a quality nfl team… i like some of the young guys but all the hold overs led by gmc, martin and dotson make me sick to my stomach,
i was an optimist years ago. the bucs have fixed that issue.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:33 pm
Gmc looks like a undrafted free agent on weekly basis anyway

tmax…that is low and cruel…
Honesty is not for the weak!
December 10th, 2017 at 6:37 pm
I am gonna somewhat blame the Glazers. R Morris, L Smith, G Schino, D Koetter I need not say more
December 10th, 2017 at 6:39 pm
Being the best player on a horrible defense doesnt change the fact that the Bucs have a horrid defense. Trade GMC, JW, Mike Evans and go full defense!
December 10th, 2017 at 6:43 pm
Pelbuc
an unproductive injured over paid quitter has NO trade value… that was funny though.

What do you mean by “only a bucfan would think like that”? Which fans? Dimwit fair weather types? They ain’t fans. Adrred with the rest of your comment. Rare.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:46 pm
Agreed. Typo time.
December 10th, 2017 at 6:47 pm
I say bring in a good D.C and O.C ( Koetter give up the duties ) and lets see what happens if no better results lets find another staff
December 10th, 2017 at 6:48 pm
Strange, did I miss GMC throwing an interception, fumbling a football, quitting on a a route? No? Let’s look at 5 turnovers and then the tell us how GMC was secretly tipping off the Lions to our offensive plays…lol. Sad that people(supposed fans) want to question a players heart for some crap on a blog
December 10th, 2017 at 6:57 pm
Dafenderman
it’s sad you low standard fans make excuse after excuse for a career loser
December 10th, 2017 at 6:59 pm
Tmax your only half right about Gruden. He didn’t hurt this franchise with his coaching ability. His personnel decisions is what hurt us. If they could bring him back IN the capacity of just being a HC and have somebody making solid personnel decisions it could work.
December 10th, 2017 at 7:03 pm
Stay faithful tmax. I’m a critic. But I do know one day..we shall rise. When? its anybody’s guess. I just don’t think our defense is on the right track at all.
December 10th, 2017 at 7:07 pm
I didn’t even know McCoy was in the game anyway.

ill keep watching hoping the weekly trainwreck turns into a competitive winner but like you said it could take time.

GMC is a good player
But a Hall of Fame salesman
He sold fans a Volvo at a Rolls Royce price
Good car but not at the price
December 10th, 2017 at 7:11 pm
Poor 93 having to play his career here…
What a waste of talent
December 10th, 2017 at 7:15 pm
While I hope this is not true, I have the feeling we may have seen the last of McCoy in a Bucs uniform.
December 10th, 2017 at 7:21 pm
The Bucs has given GMC over $158,000,000 in contracts. I’m sure he is not losing any sleep over losing.
December 10th, 2017 at 7:21 pm
Animal
if the bucs are lucky and the losing culture is to be defeated once and for all it will be a true blessing if this was mccoy’s last game. the face of the basement years must depart and bring his losing ways to another poor franchise.
December 10th, 2017 at 7:25 pm
Amen jimmyjack I am with you. If they were to bring back Gruden which I don’t think will happen please don’t give him control of all personal use good GM for that
December 10th, 2017 at 8:10 pm
The “face of the basement years”…wow. I have been watching the Bucs since Spurrier was their an, since Lee Roy Selmon had to listen to the crowd boo because he was too nice, since our previous owner spent no money on the team while being one of the most profitable in the NFL. The state of this franchise is down and not getting better anytime soon. We have had plenty of money under the salary cap to approach top players at various positions. We spend money on cheaper lineman and flashy receivers, but never bring in the grunts. We need to stop criticizing the players that fight on Sunday and question the ones that don’t and question our pathetic personnel decisions
December 10th, 2017 at 8:37 pm
When McCoy heard about our pain he asked for only positive questions.
December 10th, 2017 at 9:05 pm
Only reason I noticed he was out was because I didn’t see anyone on the YUCS with a big a$$$ smile on their face helping the opposing RB up after getting trucked. The D-Line looked the same without him. Ice cream anyone?
December 10th, 2017 at 10:07 pm
Big time changes coming soon
December 10th, 2017 at 10:42 pm
Before we completely hammer this dude again, consider the genius defensive minds he has played for and the complete lack of talent surrounding him upfront. He’s not a generational player like Sapp…not even close…but he has been a solid contributor (maybe the most solid) on largely putrid teams. If our GM had testes he would’ve looked to trade McCoy before the deadline- as a favor to both parties-and to simply move forward/get some value before he’s not worth much. I’m not delusional to think he could’ve fetched a 1…but a 2 or 3 is draft cash. Maybe Jason tried. Maybe he didn’t. Either way, I’m kinda done with this garbage.
December 11th, 2017 at 3:37 am
TMax should move to ALABAMA ASAP …just in time to vote for the pedophile!
December 11th, 2017 at 9:38 am

Time to move on from McCoy. He’s part of the losing culture that’s festered in this franchise for the last decade. Trade him while we can still get something for him. He doesn’t make the players around him better — like Sapp did. Time to move on.
