Cops investigating.
Seems someone has some explaining to do. Specifically, to Bucs wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
A one-vehicle accident is being investigated by Tampa police because someone was driving a ride registered to Jackson and Jackson claims he wasn’t behind the wheel.
Whoever Driver-X is, per Mike Garafolo of NFL.com, slammed a Chevy Silverado pickup registered in Jackson’s name into a tree along Westshore Blvd. in Tampa Sunday night — Christmas Eve no less! Per Tampa cops, Driver-X ran off on foot and abandoned the vehicle.
Tampa police questioned Jackson not just because of his trashed pickup but because cops found weed in the car, 6.3 grams to be exact. It wasn’t his pot, Jackson told police, but belonged to whoever was driving, documents Garafolo.
Per Garafolo, Jackson would not cooperate with the cops other than to cough up the name of Driver-X.
Jackson was contacted by police and later responded to the scene, the report states. Jackson initially declined to cooperate, then gave officers the name of the alleged driver, per a police source. Jackson declined to assist officers in getting the driver back to the scene, per the source.
“It was a friend of DeSean’s who borrowed his car while he was out of town,” Denise White, a representative for Jackson, said. “None of what was in the car was his obviously. He’s dealing with the person that was using it without his knowledge privately. The incident is being handled.”
Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht issued a generic statement where he basically said, in so many words, we know.
(Attention Second Amendment abolitionists: Joe doesn’t give a damn cops found two .38 caliber hollow points in the pickup. Big deal! Hollow points are perfectly legal to own in the good State of Florida. Without a gun, hollow points, or any type of ammunition, is useless. Even more worthless than the Bucs’ pass rush. What’s DJax/Driver-X supposed to do with two hollow points without a gun, throw them at a deer or a hoodlum?)

Joe thinks this story is totally blown out of proportion and Garafolo and others with NFL Media must be bored out of their minds from writing/talking about how doomed the Eagles are without Carson Wentz.
Unless someone has the story of DJax taking a baseball bat to the jerk who destroyed his rig, Joe’s already done with this.

Dear Joe,
You put a reference to “hollow point” bullets in your story to virtue signal to the leftist, anti-gun crowd that loves the social justice spectacle that the NFL has turned into this season. I’m sure some outlet will refer to them as “assault bullets” or some nonsense.

It is probably nothing, but Desean has been said to have gang ties before, when he was in Philly
Jackson made a big splash a couple years ago, but not in a good way. There were rumors of his gang ties that were so rampant it may have played a part in the Philadelphia Eagles letting him go. It was a pretty big deal and many people decided to throw their opinion out in support of or against Jackson.
One person who was adamant that Jackson is a good guy and the Eagles were in the wrong is Richard Sherman who is from the same rough city and grew up with him. Like J.R. Smith, Jackson has been seen throwing up gang signs in games and in particular against DeAngelo Hall of the Washington Redskins. Now they are on the same team.

Lets be real folks. If you drug tested every NFL player tonight, how many would test positive for an illegal substance of some kind? Countless. The only news is that more don’t get caught. Rampant weed use in all professional sports that don’t really drug test without telegraphing when it will happen is the real story but nobody really cares. Go Bucs!

Djax isn’t worth his contract. Jameis struggles to connect with him and does better with Godwin. Should have signed Kenny Stills for less than Djax and would have been a better fit. Hopefully this ends up giving the Bucs some kind of out with his contact but doubt they will get that lucky and everyone on here who was screaming for Djax will be the same ones cursing Licht for him not WORKING OUT!!!!!

That amount of cannabis isn’t even a misdemeanor offense in Tampa. Why sensationalize about it?
The cops were there to find out who left the scene of an accident (a felony) and why (DUI in many cases).

I don’t see the story here personally, Jackson gave police the name of the person driving the vehicle. I am sure many people have been out of town before and let somebody borrow their vehicle. I am sure confirming his location at the time of the incident will be easy enough for police.
