Pat Kirwan Wants More

November 8th, 2017

Punishment too light?

It should be two.

That’s the word from former Bucs scout and Jets director of player personnel Pat Kirwan. Now the co-host of the best football radio show in the land, “Movin’ the Chains,” heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Kirwan thinks Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans should be serving a two-game suspension.

The NFL slapped Evans with a one-game suspension after he clocked Marshon Lattimore Sunday seconds after Lattimore got into a hassle with America’ Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston. Kirwan believes the NFL should have sent a strong message to the players by sentencing Evans to insure Sunday’s act will not be repeated.

You can hear Kirwan’s take below.

Come at Joe if you wish, but he didn’t lose any sleep over what Evans did. Not only was he protecting his quarterback, at least Evans showed a pulse and a heart, unlike too many on the Bucs roster this season.

Protecting his quarterback??? Pure Bull-spit…….no one was sacking Jameis or driving his shoulder into the ground……Jameis was taking part in childish sideline shenanigans and both should be fined by the Bucs for really piss poor behavior……protecting the quarterback? Seriously? Come On Man!!!!

  2. bucster Says:

Pretty sure Lattimore didn’t like being touched by Jaboo’s licked up, W-shaped fingers. Icky!

  3. firethecannons Says:

So Joe–at the time of Jameis poking at Lattimore there was Demar Dotson standing right next to Jameis and he was ready to take anybody down–the situation clearly didn’t call for Evans to intervene. He was looking to lay a hit on a rookie who was making him look bad–jus saying it like it was–I agree though Evans has a pulse and good for him. Will be glad to see rookie Godwin get more play time.

  4. Jeagan1999 Says:

I have no problem with ANY Bucs player “protecting” his QB…..but what I do have a problem with is the way Evans did it. You can get in front of your guy to show support and separate him from an opposing player, but running and launching yourself into the back of an opposing player is unprofessional, unsafe and just plain stupid. The players are letting their frustrations get the better of them and the coaching staff needs to have a “come-to-Jesus” meeting with the team to nip this in the bud.

  5. Bucnut2 Says:

How wrong you are Joe! Immature Winston started the whole thing by poking Lattimore. It was a stupid move by a guy that just can’t seem to grow up. Evans was sticking up for anyone, he was frustrated at his lack of production and cheap- shotted a guy in the back. Far from a heroic move, it was as lame as it gets.

  6. Bird Says:

Most times an offensive lineman protects his Qb and pushes back and drops bows.

Mike Evans did it instead. Not one problem in my eyes. Was it from behind. Sure. (Cause some people said he should do it to his face )

He was coming from behind so what should he have done ? Spun him around and do a three stooges maneuver to poke at his eyes.

You always protect your qb. Even respect it more cause I know he is extremely frustrated with Winston right now.

Aj green and jalen Ramsey went full mma on the field and they are fined only. What a joke

  7. Bird Says:

Mike Evans is our best player period.

Funny to see posters rip him and say to trade him.

  8. Bird Says:

    Bucster

Again. That is hilarious. You got some funny posts here my friend …
    “Licked up w fingers”. Lol

  9. Clodhopper Says:

This is one of those situations where I don’t really mind Evans doing that but at the same time Koettler should have disciplined him. Sent him to the locker room at the time. Just for the ability to bring some structure to the locker room. Koettler is letting the inmates run the asylum and he needs to take back control.

Kottler should have sent a message because a message needs sent to that locker room!

You can say in your coddled millennial attitude that these are grown men and that tough love stuff don’t work these days, and I’ll point you to the Jaguars and Tom Coughlin. It took him one single offseason

  10. Jason Says:

No comment on the A.J. Green and Jalen Ramsey fight. Hypocrite.

  11. Dewey Selmon Says:

Well of course, you have to go into the locker room and face these guys. Good idea to punk out and take his side.

  12. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I agree with Joe. I have voiced the same opinion multiple times.

Something no one seems to be thinking about is what exactly led up to Jameis poking the guy. He was clearly trying to get a ref to do something, so the player must have done something that led up to it.

No media has looked into this. For all we know, the player could have done something to Jameis before hand, and Evzns witnessed that too.

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Dewey Selmon

Out of line and you know it. Joe has always called out player without worrying about that sort of thing.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It is not likely but possible that Evans only saw the Lattimore push…

The refs on the field who threw the flag didn’t even eject Evans……why a 2 game suspension?……why even a 1 game suspension…..if anyone should be fired, it should be the refs.

Koetter should not have disciplined Evans publicly during the game…..that would make the act look worse and may affect a pending suspension decision.

  15. The Buc Realist Says:

I would have been more upset if after lattimore shoves JW3 and no one does anything!!!!!!!!!!!

Its funny that the only video they show, starts with JW3 pointing and tapping him on the helmet!!!!!!! Are you telling me JW3 just came off the bench for NO reason????????? Show the 10 seconds before that!!!!!!!!!! Bucs bias indeed!!!!!!!! good thing they did hard knocks for national respect!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Teacherman777 Says:

    It was a full moon!

Thats why AJ Green and Mike Evans lost their cool!

And the 49ers game had a fight!

I blame it on the full moon!

I call it the Lunar Lunacy Theory.

  17. Jim Says:

Keotter had an opportunity to give the team a lesson in responsibility and professionalism. He failed.

  18. Bucn Enough Says:

Evans was putting on a tackling clinic for our d-line..

  19. AceofAerospace Says:

Evans was aiming for Jameis for all the overthrows. He just ran the wrong route getting there.

  20. Kobe Faker Says:

Lattimore- shut down corner for the next 12 years…

We have Milli Vanilli VH3 dancing by himself doing the schitz

Every one raise their Jason Licht Ale!

    “DILLY DILLY!”

  21. Sunny Says:

I like the fire Evans showed , I want all the players on the teams to act like that . . Like a badas$ football team

  22. Sunny Says:

BUCster , now we know why JW is so far off his throws. . . Fingers r too wet to hold the ball proper

  23. Fire the glazers Says:

All of you are just Jameis haters, and have been waiting for something to complain about. Joe is right. At least Mike Evans showed some fight. More than anyone can say about all you PC drones. Mike Evans didn’t have to do what he did, but none of us on here are NFL players, or former. Professional or not, guys do crap like this all the time, and now that it’s one of our own, and we have a losing season, you want to jump on him because you’re frustrated. Cut the guy some slack, and remember this the next time you do something stupid in the heat of the moment. Pray everyone doesn’t try to crudity you for a MISTAKE.

  24. Kobe Faker Says:

    MIKE EVANS IS A LIAR!

    YOU BUC FOOLS

Every game some of the toughest fights, confrontations is with recievers and tough physical cornerbacks

Lattimore was outplaying Evans all game long

That cheapshot biatch move was from frustration from lattimore out playing him

    Trade this Lyin Biatch

    Kobe had enough Faker

  25. Sunny Says:

Kobe why do you even post here , u have the worst and most ridiculous comments , far beyond the realm of possibility , and are down right just stupid

  26. 813bucboi Says:

i was fine with it…we aint playing for nothing anyways…..GO BUCS!!!!

  27. 813bucboi Says:

    @REALIST….

Enough with the HARD KNOCKS excuse!!!….blame dirk not HK!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  28. JMarkBuc Says:

Jameis should of had his ass on the bench, resting his injury. Didn’t he end up on the ground after ME’s cheap shot? Must not have been to hurt.

Bottom line is Lattimore was ON OUR SIDELINE, did we really need ME to come from 30 yards away? JW didn’t need protection anyway, that little shove that Lattimore gave barely even phased Winston ( who started the crap in the first place). Like I said there were plenty of big bodied Bucs standing right there if KFC needed help. Truth is, he didn’t. No reason for ME to turn into Aaron Hernandez.

  29. DWE Says:

Stupid, cowardly act by Evans and childish, immature act by Jamie’s. Shocked that anyone, joe buc, especially can in any way find justification for Evan’s hit. Buc fan since ’76 and I just can’t support such behavior. Koeter should have benched him right then

  30. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Sometimes ya gotta just move on! Yeah it was amateurish and lacked composure but given the situation it wasn’t that shocking. So he made a mistake…will pay for it. I’m over it!

  31. Lakeland Says:

Mike Evans is a PUNK. Only a PUNK will steal a man from behind.

  32. Cobraboy Says:

Protect a QB who started the altercation?

Winston’s and Evan’s actions were both immature, sore-loser punk moves.

Koetter’s passive non-intervention was not the actions of a leader in control.

  33. Kobe Faker Says:

    MIKE EVANS IS A LIAR

If it was someone else other than Lattimore, Mike Evans WOULD NOT have speared a player from the back

    @Sunny

How dare you disagree with me!

    Are you female?

    Do you like momma’s boys?

  34. gulfcoast Says:

I’m wit u Joes. That’s the only fight we saw that day. Somebody needs to light some fires under these guys. Start benching good players, “loaf” fines… something.
