“It’s Not A Total Disaster Everywhere”
November 17th, 2017There’s a lot of headbanging against blunt objects in South Florida these days, where the Bucs’ next opponent is in a complete free fall.
Heck, in some gambling circles, winless-on-the-road Tampa Bay is a one-point favorite against the Dolphins on Sunday.
Miami head coach Adam Gase sent a lot of Fins fans and media buzzing this week with a fantastic quote about his team that’s been outscored 112-45 in its last three games.
“It’s not a total disaster everywhere,” Gase said.
How bout that for an endorsement!
Frankly, Gase is exaggerating. His team, which averages just 15 points per game, is a complete mess. The defense is loaded with talent in the trenches and is getting roasted in all phases of the game.
The Bucs on the other hand have at least settled their mess for a week. Perhaps they’ve even incinerated a lot of it. They’re also getting healthy, with Kwon Alexander getting into full gear after the early-season hamstring injury. Brent Grimes is humming again. And Mike Evans said Wednesday that he injured his knee very early against New Orleans, gutted out the game but now is 100 percent after a week off courtesy of a suspension.
The biggest think that scares Joe about the Dolphins game is the quarterback, not Jay Cutler, but Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Fitz is still Fitz, and he’s going to have to force himself to protect the football and not give the Dolphins gifts that will give this beaten down team confidence.

Fitz is still Fitz. Cause for pause.
November 17th, 2017 at 10:44 am
Fitz plays the entire game. He’s been there before. Fitz will play well against the sardines. We need to play him the rest of the year. But won’t. I actually went out on a linb and picked my Bucs this week. Defense has gotta show up though. Many are critical of Fitz but he plays well when you need him to. Something, Jameis has got to learn.

I caution about overconfidence. It leads to disappointment.
That said, I believe the Bucs can, and should, win this game. But let’s not forget the Dolphins fans are saying the same thing.

“The biggest think that scares Joe about the Dolphins game is the quarterback, not Jay Cutler, but Ryan Fitzpatrick.”
Who knows? If he doesn’t play well enough, maybe we’ll see Griffin get a shot. Griffin won’t be great for us, but he could maybe do better than Fitz.

Tampa is gonna win this game against the Fish, I feel it !
November 17th, 2017 at 10:54 am
we SHOULD be able to get a win vs the fins….GO BUCS!!!!
November 17th, 2017 at 10:56 am
BUCS13 FINS10 GO BUCS!!!
November 17th, 2017 at 11:01 am
@813bucboi Sounds good!
Kwon overrated. Can’t stop the run, this will need to be address in the off season.
November 17th, 2017 at 11:04 am
Hearing a lot of people talking about how bad the dolphins are. Seems like a set up for the Bucs to get completely waxed by the dolphins on Sunday.
November 17th, 2017 at 11:19 am
FPI gives the Bucs (50.0 percent) a tiny edge over the Dolphins (49.6 percent) in the closest matchup of any game on the regular-season schedule, past or projected. That said, this is the lowest-quality matchup of Week 11, and each team is favored just once in its final six games.
ESPN FPI has no confidence in either team
November 17th, 2017 at 11:23 am
Kwon overrated? Only the dumbest fans pick the best players to trash.
November 17th, 2017 at 11:32 am
Bucs defense should look good against Cutler, particularly if they blitz heavily. This could be about as entertaining as last weeks Jets game. A battle of blah…
November 17th, 2017 at 11:34 am
Did someone say Bucs are in danger of being overconfident? Seriously? How does a 3-6 team get overconfident? And if they are, why?
November 17th, 2017 at 11:35 am
Joe screamed all offseason that a good backup QB wins 50% of games played!!! So no matter what, the Bucs are ahead or right on schedule!!!!!!!
But I like the way 813BucBoi is thinking!!!!! Even if it takes 5 safties by the defense and 1 field goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 17th, 2017 at 11:37 am
dont think Fritz going to last the whole game
Fritz got popped vs the jets a few times…miami defense going to go all out on him
get ready for “bad news bears” ryan griffen
you guys going to laugh how bad he is
November 17th, 2017 at 11:41 am
miami wins in a terrible game by 2 terrible players
Gase wont let cutler make too many mistakes with the short passing game
fritz 2 ints because Koetter will go deep
griifen 1 int and 2 fumbles
17-13
November 17th, 2017 at 11:47 am
A 3-6 team should only play one way. That’s with their hair on fire!
@Kobe- I can’t help but think that they signed Fitzy for a reason. It wasn’t because they felt good about their back-up, that’s for sure! I mean for real, the guy has never taken a regular season snap.
November 17th, 2017 at 11:47 am
Not that I am saying anything that has gone wrong this far is excusable, BUT we have been playing with our QB hurt or out and our MLB hurt or out all season and last time I checked those are two pretty important positions on a football team. Maybe just maybe when fully healthy this team will start to resemble what we all thought we would see at the beginning of the year. To bad that even if that happens it is too late.
November 17th, 2017 at 11:48 am
BUCS 17-10
November 17th, 2017 at 11:52 am
Bucs 50 Dolphins -2
November 17th, 2017 at 12:06 pm
Fitz is still Fitz, and the Bucs are still the Bucs. They make bad teams get well. How many times will we expect this Bucs team should win anything? They stunk on the road so many times with no real reason to stink. I hope their internal sniping is done, and how this weekend plays out could be a big indicator. I am happy the Fins gave away their star RB.

Wow. Winston being investigated according to BuzzFeed. NFL focused on an allegation he groped an Uber drive…not good
November 17th, 2017 at 12:09 pm
What happens if Fitz goes down? We would be doomed…
November 17th, 2017 at 12:11 pm
derrickbrroks
kwon had a little rust to knock off….didn’t see many missed tackles by him last week….don’t think he’s overrated but your entitled to your opinion….
but your right tho….we need some big nasty’s up front that take up space and thrive at stopping the run….GO BUCS!!!
November 17th, 2017 at 12:14 pm
I am hoping for a win but not expecting one.
November 17th, 2017 at 12:19 pm
You get your news from BuzzFeed?
November 17th, 2017 at 12:26 pm
It is being picked up by other outlets. Personally I get my news from multiple sources to try to get a true and full picture of what is going on.
And too be honest, my source of the news is the least of the team’s worries if what is being alleged is true.
November 17th, 2017 at 12:41 pm
I’m wondering if Jameis did his finger licking routine after he groped the Uber driver.

“It’s Not A Total Disaster Everywhere”
LMAO. When I first read that headline I thought it was going to be another story about the Buccos.
Fitz is not a star, but he’s not as bad as some are making out. He played well for the Jets two years ago as a starter. He’s a lifetime 60% completion guy with 171 TD’s against 136 ints. He’s actually a solid runner. He’s not sparkler but he doesn’t suck nearly as much as some here would say and he is fiercely competitive!!!
Bottom line….Fitz will not WIN this game for us. But he will not LOSE it either.
If the D shows up and the OL blocks well enough to create an actual running game Fitz is a good game manager and we can win this booger.
November 17th, 2017 at 2:07 pm
Will be a close game. Low scoring and a total bore. Bucs 13 – Fins 10
