Bucs Still Bottom Of Barrell
November 15th, 2017It was encouraging if not exciting to see the Bucs got to Stewart McClown so often on Sunday.
The Bucs damn near matched their season total for sacks (eight) entering the Jets game when the Bucs racked up six sacks. Six!
The way the Bucs have (not) gotten to the quarterback, six sacks in a game seems like an NFL record. Still, despite the shocking number of times the Bucs got to McClown, Tampa Bay remains at the bottom of the NFL when it comes to quarterback pressures, per BSPN’S NFL Matchup.
That’s how awful the Bucs have been at getting heat on quarterbacks. Even when they collect six sacks, the Bucs are still worst in the league at quarterback pressure.

The Bucs have won 3 more games than the Browns. That’s a positive. Right?
Not really the lowly Browns are winless.
This is gut check time. Not for the team so much like Joe says, but for the fans. Can YOU handle being a Bucs fan? Not many can.
I can and don’t EVER see that changing, but can you? I ingest the nonsense cause that’s what it’s always been really. At least since I became a fan. Sure they had things fall into place and got the right players at the right time back in the 90’s that led to the SB.
Nonetheless it ain’t EASY being a Bucs fan. Really never has been, only briefly.
Bucs Fans Still Bottom Of Barrell is more like it. Can YOU deal?

This pass rush will be the death of this coaching staff.

Yes, I can deal with it! Because regardless of how it may look…what the Bucs are going through is just growing pains, players and coaches alike!
We have a lot of talented players when they gel all will be well! I think it will take patience but we will have a winning team and one who will bring the wood, offensively and defensively.
I have to admit JW brought me to the Bucs but I am locked into the Bucs! Unless the unthinkable occurs!
Go BUCS

This is what happens when jacka** media types scream #weapons for Winston. We now have DJax and Hump, Howard and Brate, and a defense that sucks the soul from it’s fans, leaving us without the will to live. Good bye cruel world, welcome to Cleveland

Or, like all great teams, the Bucs are still building. Reminder, Lovie jettisoned a lot of talent that thrived elsewhere. Mark Dominik failed on so many draft picks. Chucky passed up on Adrian Peterson and Aaron Rodgers. It takes time to build a team. This pass rush was always going to be suspect and it doesn’t help when the kicker can’t kick and the QB has a bum shoulder.
There’s reasons to be optimistic about this team. Give Licht another draft, another free agency period. He can get some pass rushers, some tackles, and corners. Dirk can spend an offseason studying how he needs to improve, whether it’s play calling or practices or whatever.
Sorry if y’all got hoodwinked by media types that have to make content all summer. But if the Glazers fire Koetter and Licht they set the franchise back another four years at least. That means Gerald McCoy’s career will be wasted, and probably Lavonte David’s as well.

@westernbuc … “Give Licht another draft, another free agency period. He can get some pass rushers, some tackles, and corners.” You make a BIG assumption there westernbuc: That Jason Licht’s contract gets extended. I’m not so sure anymore. He’s the architect of his DLine & Oline, and BOTH have some major issues IMO. Licht’s done nothing to help this coaching staff since this season started … no trades, no pickups from other teams’ practice squads or wherever. It’s like he’s saying to this coaching staff “Hey, you guys stumble through the rest of this season and IF you’re still here next spring we’ll work on fixing things.”
Look at the upcoming 2018 FAs & you’ll see there’s not a whole bunch of DLine or OLine talent coming available. And most of what is there will re-signed by their own teams or franchise-tagged (if those linemen are any good). Will say however that there are several CBs in 2018 FA who could help us, but they’ll cost big $$$ no doubt. The 2018 draft doesn’t look nearly as good, at this point, as the past 2 years. IOW, it’ll take several seasons to fix this thing. And BTW, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Glazers are already shopping around for Licht’s replacement (is Dave Gettleman still on the loose?).

I’m a happy Bucs fan. I don’t go to games and waste my money. Haven’t gone to a game in 7 years. No desire. Rather watch at a sports bar eat good food and drink good beer (that’s not overpriced) and smoke a cigar. Wouldn’t waste my time attempting to fight the traffic, to make the long walk into the stadium where you then wait in line for everything you do. It’s a joke. Not worth the effort. Why give effort when ownership and players don’t give effort? If it were a stretch of a year of two without a playoff win, I might let it slide, by we are now at year 16 without a playoff win. No excuse for that.

Our Bucs are always rebuilding, Always need..just one more draft, Just a few more players, Just a few more…..of everything. Just give’em a few more..years. We just need…Its ben our same ole stroy. on repeat for years. We should join Clint Eastwood for..A few dollars more…. Just a little more…its all growing pains, We are still in our infancy..Just give us time…Please..we need.. Buc fans we are for fact..the no 1 excuse team in the NFl. The top 10 teams..have injuries, plug in players, scour the waiver wires, take otheer team rejects, and keep right on winning. The package store owner down the streets looks at me and smiles every Sat night and says, What you drinkin for Tomorrows Buc game? He knows I gotta tame the savage pain and disappointment every Sunday with my Bucs. Bucs got me so numb, Hell, even I’m, making excuses..for whatever. The absolute Horror..of being a Bucs fan!

Ya wanna know why Mike? Cause new regime’s get rid of about 40% of the roster every time they come in. Hence constantly rebuilding every 2 years.
Yet you’re in the get a new coach club. wash, rinse, repeat and complain about the next head coach.

Nobody could ever question your fandom…we all give you that.
And if you’re in the crowd that thinks firing Koetter and making yet another coaching change is not the answer…I’m with you there.
I could put up a dozen links on the NFL draft that all pretty much say the same thing…50% success at the top…it drops from there.
Soooo how many good players can you expect from any draft…if you get three to contribute that’s great…and if you get a franchise QB that’s awesome. Licht has done that but it’s not enough for many here who see the draft as seven sure things for the right GM. Only problem for these guys is there is NO right GM.
