“Their Secondary Has Been Abominable”
October 5th, 2017The Patriots may just be vulnerable.
That’s the word from California train-romancing, anti-football proliferation, outhouse-admiring, airline-napping, steerage-flying, Yogi Berra-worshiping, urinal picture-taking, video game-playing, Taylor Swift-listening, pickpocket-thwarting, Bucs-uniform-frowning, Allie-LaForce-smitten, Big-Ten-Network-hating, pedestrian-bumping, olive oil-lapping, popcorn-munching, coffee-slurping, fried-chicken-eating, oatmeal-loving, circle-jerking, craft beer-chugging, cricket-watching, scone-loathing, college football-naïve, baseball-box-score-reading, NPR-honk, filthy-hotel-staying, fight-instigating, barista-training, social activist Peter King of Sports Illustrated and NBC Sports fame.
Appearing this week with the one and only Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on the SiriusXM channel that bears his nickname, “Mad Dog Radio,” King believes the Patriots are ripe for an upset tonight in Tampa.
Why? Because of the alarmingly porous pass defense of New England, which is last in the NFL coughing up an average of 324 yards a game.
Chris “Mad Dog” Russo: Are you worried about the Patriots defense right now?
Peter King: Of course! How can you not be? I mean, their secondary has been abominable. They get beat once or twice every game with a guy who is wide open and Bill Belichick is a secondary coach. That is his bread and butter. That would bother me a lot. Stephon Gilmore’s play bothers me a lot.
While King was harsh on the Patriots, he is of the mind sooner rather than later, Belicheat will figure things out. The catch, King said, is that Belichick needs time to turn things around and King believes the Patriots, playing on the road on a Thursday night, is too quick for Belichick to devote the time needed to right the ship while preparing for the Bucs.
Per New England’s media relations staff, tonight is the first non-Thanksgiving Thursday night road game the Patriots have played since 1990.

Think we are catching them a week too late. The Bucs don’t do a lot of things to confuse defenses. They are pretty much what you see is what you get on defense. This will allow BB to simplify his scheme and will correct their defensive woes. Bucs are the perfect team for the Pats in their current condition. Bucs play a soft, no pressure defense. Brady thrives on the short pass. Bucs D is the perfect D for Brady to abuse. Sorry Bucs fans, we are all going to sleep like sh*t tonight after losing 42-27.

With both D’s occupying the cellar, who is more likely to put up 35 to win this game? That’s what I’m worried about. Screw DJAX wanting the ball this isn’t the game…we need to get Doug and Quizz 35+ carries and keep Brady on the sideline. Run the clock and own time of possession and your chances to sneak out of this game with a victory increases dramatically.

He is no longer called VH3
Just Vernon

My hope is that Koetter’s army will come out kicking butt n taking names. Drives for touchdowns n Folks must bring his “AAA” game, no excuses, no exceptions. Jameis must b on his “A+” game if he wants to compete with Brady. Patriots lost to the Panthers, Brady n team will b in payback mode. Plz do not give Brady all day to throw. We know about Brady, Gronk, Amendola, n Brooks but the hidden gem is James White, they love the short dump off pass to him out of the back field for big gain. Go Bucs!!

I would disagree Negative Jeff:
For example the Bucs sneaking OJ Howard across the line after the snap and racing down the sideline uncovered for a long TD against the Giants.

King is ugly now, and he sure looks like a DWEEB+ in that pic! 🙂

what goes up…must come down….BUCS-35 PATS-28…
Winston throws 3 TD’s….VHG gets a pick…GMC records 2 sacks…
CANT WAIT!!!….SECT. 140 ROW S seats 1 and 2….HOLLA AT ME!!!!

I still blame him for the HOF debacle. John Lynch should have gotten in this year. Instead he was butt sniffing Brian Dawkins causing a split vote between the two and Jason Taylor goes in as a first ballot. He should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself. Idiot.

Peter King is a nitwit. Why does anyone still care what he says?

Except for Spiderman Grimes the Bucs secondary isn’t off the chain either.
