No Decision On Jameis (Yet)

Koetter shares how Jameis feels (full video)

Will America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, play at New Orleans or not?

Yesterday, winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter admitted he’s not sure if he will sit Jameis or play him. We all know Jameis is dealing with issues in his throwing shoulder.

In his weekly sitdown with dangerous Dan Lucas of WFLA-TV Channel 8, Koetter stated Jameis told him Monday that he is feeling the best he has in three weeks, but Koetter admitted it won’t be until Wednesday at the earliest before he determines how to proceed with Jameis leading to the game against the Saints.

The past two weeks, Koetter has held Jameis out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday to help his injured throwing shoulder heal. The layoff didn’t seem to bother Jameis at all in Buffalo as he had one of his best games of his NFL career. Then, Sunday, Jameis was positively terrible, turning in one of his worst games with the Bucs.

While Jameis said the missed practices had no negative impact, he was so awful one had to think otherwise.

Koetter noted after consulting with both team doctors and Jameis tomorrow, it is then when Koetter will develop a Jameis plan for the week. That is, if Koetter believes Jameis can play Sunday.

Winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter. – Fact Check Please!

im just wondering if both sides of the ball will show up?….will we come out flat?….will we come out unprepared?…..its been that way 5 out of the last 6 games….GO BUCS!!!!

  4. LakeLand Says:

The Seattle Seahawks traded CB Jeremy Lane, a 2nd round pick, a 5th round pick to the Houston Texans for 32 year old Pro Bowl LT Duane Brown. Russell Wilson has taken 58 hits this season in 7 games. They also drafted C Ethan Pocic in the 2nd round this season. Last season they drafted OG Germain Ifedi in the 1st round.

If you have a franchise QB

    Build a wall for him

  6. BucFanFromOH Says:

I would be fine with 1 DB and the rest of our picks ALL going to O/D lines.

  7. AlteredEgo Says:

I’d be fine with drafting another QB with the 1st pick….let it sort itself out in 2 years….I have serious doubts with Jameis’s accuracy …not something that can be fixed

We should have snagged Garoppolo in front of the Niners. Then trade Winston to the niners along with Jackson. We should have also traded fro Gruden from ESPN in exchange for free dances at Mons Venus for a year.

  9. Jim Says:

Forget about the play-offs and concentrate on building the team, including plays, players and positions. Sit Jameis and give his shoulder a chance to heal while giving your back-up QBs some playing time.

  10. LakeLand Says:

What’s the purpose of spending another high draft pick on a QB, if you’re going to keep the same pathetic O-Line? Jameis Winston was hit 218 times in 2 seasons, 2015 and 2016. After a few seasons of hits like that, your body begin to wear down.

  11. passthebuc Says:

Joe. America’s QB does not play for the Buc’s.
Maybe America’s 20th choice QB, and that is a stretch.

You are like the coaching staff and the GM. You put a name on someone and they pick someone as a high draft choice. Neither wish to make a mistake so the culture goes on.

  12. mike johnson Says:

Ok Joe..Cut it out and knock it off man!! Koetter is no longer a WINNING coach.
I told everybody here already the season is done. Rest Jameis for a couple of games. Then see if he’s ready. Koetter is only aggrevating the injury. The..Play at all cost is a stupid mentality to pursue unless you are playoff bound. That..we are not!!

  13. Bill Byrne Says:

Jim Says…is absolutely right. The 2017 season is lost and it’s time to sit Winston and let his shoulder heal before he injures his shoulder further. The season is lost so what do the Bucs have to lose?

They fired Dumb, but they kept Dumber

  15. SkBucsfan Says:

America’s Last Place Quarterback, one time pro-bowler filling in for an injured pick. Or maybe America’s Least Accurate Quarterback.

Although the above is true, it doesn’t flow off of the tongue as nicely. The rest of America doesn’t think he represents them. Heck, even a lot of Bucs fans don’t believe he is our best option going forward. Maybe Joe should just stick with calling him Jameis Winston, nothing more.

  16. LakeLand Says:

The O-Line has been better this season. Giving up 35 Hits in 7 games.

  17. Richie8erace Says:

Jamis is horrible. Any offensive line would look bad with klunkity klunk for QB. He has no idea when to run or not and Thenwhen he does it looks awkward . Also, watch 59 watch 59 blue 80 dud! He’s so predictable, NFL coaches are having a week off playing this kid.

    Yes. Yes. And yes.
Most of those ex-Bucs OL have been to the playoffs as starters since leaving.
