Desperate Times

October 17th, 2017

Make him an offer he can’t refuse.

You know what the old saying is, don’t you?

“Desperate times call for desperate measures?”

Well, these are desperate times.

In case you don’t know, the Bucs are at the bottom of the NFL in sacks. That’s bad. What’s worse? The Bucs have a grand total of one — ONE! — sack from a defensive end. That came from Noah Spence against the Bears to open the season. That’s one sack through five games.

It fries Joe’s brain to contemplate just how awful that is.

So, since the Bucs are in dire need of some kind of an edge rush, barring a total overhaul of the defensive schemes midseason, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht, is going to have to make a drastic move.

No team is going to give up a decent defensive end now without holding the Bucs for ransom. So here is what Joe would do:

First, go to Team Glazer’s vault and fill up a large suitcase with bundles of loot. Then, hop on Team Glazer’s private jet, bring along T.J. Ward and fly down to Texas and meet with DeMarcus Ware.

Judging by recent stories, it seems Ware is torn about having retired this past offseason, claiming his body couldn’t handle a full NFL season. This just in: training camp is long gone and we are approaching late-October.

Licht should stand in front of a seated Ware, open the suitcase, and start peeling off $100 bills and dropping them at Ware’s feet while Ward, Ware’s former Broncos teammate, explains to him the benefits of making big money in a state with no state income tax located in a tropical climate.

Licht should keep peeling off the $100 bills until Ware says yes.

You telling Joe that a 53-year old former All Star first baseman can being heat from the edge better than a soon-to-be Hall of Fame pass rusher not yet a year removed from retirement? Don’t jerk Joe around!

That’s the predicament the Bucs find themselves in. This season very easily could spiral out of control, in large part due to virtually no edge rush. So, will the Bucs do something about it, or sit back on their hands and hope that a fiftysomething former MLB great can get two sacks in the next 11 weeks the same way Leonard hoped to score with Penny when she first moved into the apartment down the hall?

It is already starting to spiral out of control 🙁
Both of our next opponents have winning records, and we play the Bills in Buffalo, where they are undefeated this year.
Next, the Panthers come to town.
Something sure as heck needs to be done.

  2. Q Says:

Joe the dude can’t even play all 3 downs….hes prob not even close to football shape…hes maybe a 3rd down rusher that’s it ….we would be paying him for what???

  3. Q Says:

Joe the dude can’t even play all 3 downs….you seen how he was that super bowl run…hes prob not even close to football shape…hes maybe a 3rd down rusher that’s it ….we would be paying him for what???

  4. tmaxcon Says:

Stop blaming DE, coaches and scheme and address the real problem and that is the leader of the losing culture and his love of losing….

  5. Q Says:

    Sorry was sent twice

  6. Bucsfanman Says:

No Joe, we’ve got Will Gholston. We’re good!

@tmax- I notice that you don’t post much when we win. Care to elaborate?

  7. LocalJoker Says:

Bucs got two 6 round picks. 49ers will take a conditional 7th for DE Aaron Lynch. Bit of a head case but can play when he wants to. Desperate times!

  8. Getaclue Says:

Freeney came off the couch and played well last year

  9. nate_tweetz Says:

Put Baker and McDonald inside and Put McCoy out on the edge. See if his quick get off can get him around an LT. Desperate times call for desperate measures. At least try to use more stunts to get the O-line guessing on assignments. Obviously we can’t just line up and beat the man in front of us straight up.

  10. nate_tweetz Says:

Or if Kwon gets back this week, let Beckwith get some snaps on the edge.

  11. Jim Says:

    OH NO! We suck again!

  12. ATrain Says:

Ware wont play in that lockerroom.

    TMax is right

Whether yall want to believe it or not the CANCER is in the lockerroom

Ask Ayers, Winston, and a handful of other players..

When a player makes the most money and is OH WELL we are FLAT today attitude affects the whole locker room

STOP picking people off the GROUND and put someone on the GROUND

  13. Joe Says:

    Q.:

You could make the very same arguments for the current Bucs DEs.

Game shape? Didn’t stop Koetter from using Doug Martin.

  14. Canadianbucsfan Says:

    @tmax
How come your not cutting up Kwon for missing games?
    @ nate_tweez
I think we should put Mccoy on the edge on third downs aswell. Why not give it a try?

  15. DBS Says:

Sure. Bring in more old players in to enjoy the money and sun. What exactly has that gotten us so far?? Well at least Grimes does try.

  16. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    The trolls are so funny.

  17. grafikdetail Says:

if it’s desperate times… go get the women beater head case Hardy!!

  18. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    No

    no

    no

    no

Our wonderful GM will never offer up huge contracts to any defensive player considering that he’s saving up all of his pennies to resign Jameis Winston and Mike Evans

………AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

It is getting crazy here in Tampa these days. Now, they are claiming Jameis is not a franchise QB 🙁
    OMG, read this 🙁

Jameis Winston went down in the Buccaneers most recent loss to the Arizona Cardinals with an injury to his throwing shoulder.

With Jameis Winston out, the grizzled veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick stepped in and nearly led the Buccaneers to an improbable comeback victory.

Fitzpatrick put up very nice numbers going 22/33 with 290-yards and three touchdowns. The significant number to take away from this though, is Fitzpatrick was only sacked a single time, and even with two interceptions had a quarterback rating (QBR) of 53.4 per ESPN.

Winston, in his first four starts this season had a higher rating in only two of those games. Also going back to last season, he only had a higher QBR in 7/16 games.

The single sack shows the offensive line is capable of protecting a less mobile quarterback.

Currently, according to Pro Football Focus, Demar Dotson is the #1 rated offensive tackle (87.1), Ali Marpet is the #14 center (71.3), and Evan Smith is the #17 guard (78.6). Three-fifths of the offensive line is currently grading out inside the Top-20 at their position in the entire NFL.

While having a mobile quarterback is a nice commodity, it isn’t a necessity for winning the big games.

Breaking down the numbers: Winston, through his first two years had graded out as nothing more than an average quarterback. Throwing for over 4,000 yards in each of his first two seasons is an impressive feat, but looking at the numbers needed to win games, he falls far short of the expectations of a number one overall pick and franchise quarterback.

Many other quarterbacks had more success than Winston through their first two seasons and have faded into NFL obscurity. Why not get what you can for him and progress onto a quarterback who can bring a Super Bowl back to Tampa Bay?

Does this mean the Buccaneers would be better served having a stopgap veteran like Ryan Fitzpatrick?

The pieces have been built around Winston, but those parts might be better served by someone who understands how to use them. This, coupled with the return the Bucs would get for Winston could set up the franchise for success over the course of the next decade.

There are a lot of quarterback-needy teams which would part with at least a few first round picks to obtain Winston.

The 49ers are the first team which comes to mind. They are in the middle of a rebuild and could use Winston as their building block, and Jason Licht would get the next two selections of theirs in the 1st-Round which would likely be Top-10 selections.

Licht could work miracles with an additional Top-10 picks over the course of the next few seasons. This would also leave Kirk Cousins in free agency without a top potential suitor.

Adding a proven player of Cousins’ caliber to the explosive offense the Buccaneers have amassed could lead to success for the next decade and push the team over the top.

If the Bucs failed to land Cousins, there are multiple proven options in free-agency next year who could prove to be a better option than Winston.

  20. Blade Runner Says:

@nate_tweetz….I couldn’t agree with you more…move McCoy to DE with Baker and McDonald on the inside! Why not try it?

  21. Mental Bucdown Says:

Hopefully they’ll figure it out soon bcuz they look like middle schoolers on the field compared to other team’s schemes

  22. Tom Edrington Says:

I find it hard to fathom that Joe has gone the “desperation” route, what happened to all the pre-season giddiness? I saw guys on this site a bunch, predicting 10-plus wins…..

Perhaps this team was overrated to begin with….anyone ever consider that?…it’s probably a solid 8-8 team, tougher schedule than last year people….so deal with it!

  23. tmaxcon Says:

    Bucsfanman

I post equally sir. i have been moving the last few weeks therefore a little less active. It’s getting tiresome being always right….

    Canadianbucsfan

Kwon is NOT the highest paid player and the self anointed FACE OF THE DEFENSE like the career loser and mentally weak GMC is thus he is held to a different standard. kwon is a 3rd round pick who has overachieved where GMC is a 3rd overall bust that is a overrated underachieving locker room cancer with a smile…..

bottom line is dominick and his pathetic choirboy / captain experiment has sent this team back further than anyone could expect with all the mentally weak career losers he put in place.

  24. Bucsfanman Says:

ATrain- Saying it over and over does not make it true. ONE guy does not effect an entire team offense/defense and coaching. Outside of Grimes and David on defense, nobody played well. This long-running diatribe against one of our best players on defense is kind of silly when you consider that football is a team game and that NOT ONE OTHER d-lineman has produced all year. NOT ONE! To my knowledge, they do get a paycheck as well. Just saying!

  25. Bucn Enough Says:

If I were the Glazers, I would not trust Licht with a bag of doughnuts right now. Nor is he taking any flights on my private airplane…

Why isn’t anyone holding this guy accountable for the lack of talent on the defensive side of the ball, the blown draft choices, the blown FA signings…

  26. passthebuc Says:

The problem is the coaching staff and their problem is that they do not know what they do not know.

  27. mark2001 Says:

Better pull out all the stops, Doug. Gruden is in the wings, and if we don’t turn it around pronto, the Glazers will be chasing him and throwing money.

  28. Conte Piscateli Says:

It won’t happen, and this is why. The rest of the dial world equated or organization as maybe only second to the browns for ineptitude. Sorry, I love my Bucs but the organization, not saying players, or coaches specifically think we are a joke. I think Ware would like up on Sunday if a team like the Pats, Steelers, cowboys, Packers called and asked. It’s unfortunate, but we are not in the plans of many players and this truth needs to be recognized by all the Madden players that think we should sign every big name just because we have money. It isn’t always about money, and the players who it is about money end up like the signings we get year after year. Tampa Bay is NFL Siberia.

  29. Bradinator Says:

Go 3-4 put McCoy on the DE and put some of that athletic LB stuff to work on the edge. Noah Spence lined up like Von Miller and push “play”. Ware is likely still viable, and maybe could teach someone (anyone really) how to do a spin move instead of their normal run around the guy (which ain’t working). Gholston is built for 3-4 DE. A big dude that can get in the way of a OT trying to get after a speedy LB coming off the edge.

  30. Bucsfanman Says:

@tmax- Alright man. We just “missed” you a bit I guess!

  31. tmaxcon Says:

mccoy at DE is absolutely laughable… he would be HUFFING and PUFFING after 3 plays he already is all tuckered out by halftime at dt… those late nights playing with dolls will get you every time.

  32. tmaxcon Says:

    Bucsfanman

i guaranteed no one missed me… LOL… People do not like reality and the truth around here they just want all the rose colored glass versions. they forget they are fans of a franchise that has 4 good years in 41 therefore not a lot to be happy about. again remember tampa is the only franchise / fanbase that would call 2 playoff wins in 6 years glory years meanwhile tom brady has more super bowl appearances than bucs franchise has playoff wins.

  33. Locked In Says:

uh oh, I bet McCoy is REALLY mad now! no more Mr. nice guy. He’s not going to put up with this any more.

  34. Bucsfanman Says:

Bad teams find ways to lose. Look at our game against Brady. We wrapped that game up in a pretty little bow and said, “Coach Belichek we do not accept your gift of victory!”
You’re right, this franchise has a loooooooooooooong way to go. I think we all felt like it was turning when Koetter became HC. Right now, we’re still in baby diapers looking for answers.
Oh, to be a Buc fan! Is it 5 o’clock yet?! I need a drink!

  35. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    This idea sucks, Joe, lol.

5 years ago? Maybe. Not now. He’ll be 36 soon!

  36. JonBuc Says:

Saw Ware on Players Only via NFL Network…looks thin and probably isn’t close to NFL ready. Once you’re done…you’re probably done unless you’re juicy James Harrison.

  37. Kobe Faker Says:

“Desparate times calls for desparate measures?”

WTF! Really? JBF taking Kobe fakers intellectual property?

“My Morgan&Morgan disability lawyer will be sending you a cease and desist letter ASAP! You have been warned!”

    Kobe Faker

  38. FortMyersDave Says:

LocalJoker: I remember Aaron Lynch: kid was a 4 star recruit out of Cape Coral, committed to Jimbo up at FSU in 2011, decommitted to go to Notre Dame and then transferred to South Florida and played for Willie Taggert (rather well for a bad USF team that had little talent thanks to Skippy Holtz), got in some probs concerning character there before leaving early and getting drafted by the niners in 2014 in the 5th round. Kid has talent but had a lot of nagging character issues which caused him to slide so far. Basically he might have fell out of the draft but Willie Taggert personally vouched for the kid and then SF coach Harbaugh took a chance while a USF asst coach resigned after tweeting some criticism towards the Niners for taking the kid… So far the kid has 15 sacks as a Niner. He probably would be an upgrade to what the Bucs have and given his “colorful” past it kind of makes sense to see him playing for such a dysfunctional D. Somehow though I suspect that the Bucs brain trust is incapable of pulling any miracle cures to this putrid D right now, they put almost all their eggs in the offensive basket this past offseason and the cupboard is bare of talent on the D side of the team. Lynch is intriguing and seems to have stayed out of trouble in SF but I doubt if a guy who is 2nd string at SF is going to be able to make much of an impact, kind of like to fix a hole in the dam with a bandaid….

  39. Lamarcus Says:

Tmaxcon. I’m with u. We will always have these type of blowouts. Follow the pattern. It’s not coaching. Coaches can movitate all they want but when u have a career loser gmc who never experienced winning u have a problem. U have to have guys who what to win. Gmc only cares if Oklahoma sooners win. He could care less if we win. Helped get these boys get flat

After he said he wanted payback from last year I knew we was screwed. Gmc trying inflating u guys and the troops. But I said we mcdonald doing that job and gmc looking sad sitting down. These ass whoopings are too normal for him

  40. FortMyersDave Says:

Correction on Aaron Lynch being clean in SF: he did get a 4 game suspension to kickoff 2016 for violating the NFL banned substance rule: he claimed it was for having submitted a sample that was “diluted” (in other words tampered with….). Anyhow, doubtful anyone would trade for this guy with that kind of baggage and he probably is holding onto a back up position in SF simply because the Niner are about as talent depleted as you can get for an NFL roster (though I suspect the Bucs D unit would probably make the Niners look rather good right now)…. A leopard can’t change it spots, much like a losing team simply can’t shake off a decade of losing mentality despite going 9-7 one year.

  41. Bucsfanman Says:

How about this Lamarcus, ANYONE, SOMEBODY, out of 4 players on that d-line make a play! There have been crickets out of every other position on that d-line for years. I suppose that’s GMC’s fault?!
    Imagine!
    Crickets!
Ayers? Nope. Spence? Nope. McDonald? Eh. Gholston? Ye-noo! Baker? No. This is the same story EVERY year.

  42. Lamarcus Says:

U can’t just put anybody around gmc. That’s why it doesn’t work out. U need individual elite talent. Way far above average players. Who can hold their own. Dware can’t help gmc nor himself here. We need jj watt talent. Gmc makes his money running into double teams which doesn’t free nobody gmc is and wants notjing to be just a background dancer while Winston and kwon are lead singers.

  43. Lamarcus Says:

    Bucsfanman

We spend drafts and free agents for years and nothing correct. Some were proven. So they bust when they got here? Michael Bennett became all world after he left. No its gmc fault. We been fooled. We need “special” gmc is good but good is not good enough

  44. Lamarcus Says:

And when u drop a rb 8 to 9 yards back in a rocket launch style gmc style of play should been a key factor. Oh wait he gets doubled? He got doubled once or 2 in that game.

  45. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

localjoker right on go get aaron lynch and ft myers dave this team needs football players not sunday school teachers, the bucs have too many players who do not care about the Ws and Ls, bring this dude in and let him loose on sunday maybe being back in florida will spark a fire under him….again…the GM of this team his horrible and sat back and did nothing the entire offseason to upgrade the weakest spots of the defense and then the OL, the defense was suspect in the backend and the edge rushers, the bucs did nothing, and again those 2 areas are deficient and they will be defincient for years to come because jason gump could not recognize the way to build and win through a great defense, cool licht can drink beer and jump in pools, and he is cagey and crafty, ZERO qualities that are needed in a competent GM…the bucs GMs are on par with the cleveland regime…its almost impissible to go this long without sniffing the playoffs in the NFL….look at the rams, bills and eagles as quick turnarounds

  46. Joe Says:

For folks mocking Joe’s suggestion of bringing a future Hall of Famer out of an eight-month retirement:

How’s the great Will Clarke doing?

At least Ware has demonstrated a few times in his life how to get within the same zip code of a quarterback.

  47. tmaxcon Says:

Bucsfanman if GMC was a real man he would have turned his C into Licht and Koetter at halftime…. simple as that!!!!

gmc will be perfect in Dallas next year collecting jerry jones checks and bringing that locker room down.

  48. Q Says:

McCoy is who he is because of his nice guy attitude ..fans vote for his pro bowl …the league lacks defensive tackle talent …its a offensive league these days …if McCoy was playing in the ops he would be a no name player …yall keep beating the chest about McCoy…we have too many “leaders” on this team…too many voices ….this team needs one voice and one voice only…let me name the “leaders” McCoy, Alexander, David, jameis …the team has no identity what do ever …every year I renew my season tickets , because I love my team, and every year it gets more f ustrating, scratching my head at why this team can not win consistently …it makes no damn sense at all…we are not the browns …we are not San Fran …this team has too much talent…we have fired coaches , paid crazy money for crazy free agents …draft cornerstones and who are we building the team around? The talent is there …what the hell is the issue????

  49. tmaxcon Says:

the issue is the low standard owners are more worried about soft arse players feelings than instituting a WIN at all costs mindset throughout the organization. When you have a fanbase and ownership group who are very satisfied with losing and non stop excuses than you will have a losing culture. it just so happens bucs also have the perfect leader of the losing culture the smiling jack arse to run the show. for the last 8 years we have watched the gmc led defense come out soft, uninspired, flat and unprepared. time and time again they have quit on multiple coaches all in the name of Mr. Nice Guy!!!! The only cliche that fits this team led by GMC is NICE GUYS DO FINISH LAST!!!

  50. Lamarcus Says:

All gmc can about it is that we was flat. Minus the pro bowl votes he just average. He gets a pass cuz heis the only player in the world that gets doubled. I swear if I hear him being excused cuz he gets doubled I’m going to blow a fuse. No one on this bucs team gets spared from the sword while spotting 31 frigging points

  51. SOEbuc Says:

No Joe. We have to stop going out and offering old ass players huge contracts. Robert Ayers is one of these DE that doesn’t have any sacks and he’s 30 with a $21 mil contract. If we want to get it done this season, we have to go out and make a major trade for a healthy, mid aged vet.

  52. ATrain Says:

    Bucsfanman

YES and just because you say it doesnt make it TRUE.. I get it your a t-shirt wearing McCoy lover who can not criticizeh THE GREAT ONE…

the rest of our D-Line doesnt make what McCoy makes a game combined..

ARE you KINDING ME one player doesnt set the tone in the locker room…

HAHAHAHHAHA Brady doesnt set the tone / Rodgers doesnt PLEASE

maybe in team chess BUT THIS IS FOOTBALL McCoy FAN…

IF you are the highest paid then you are held to a HIGHER standard I.E. why you get paid…

McCoy is a Good Player but yall hold him up every week and say he is the BEST

PLEASE soft even his peers have made that statement ( PRO FOOTBALL PLAYERS) I will listen to them..

  53. FortMyersDave Says:

Oh I agree with ya Dusthty. The Lynch kid is a beast and is a special talent. Not many 4 star defensive players come from the Florida Gulf Coast and yes I think he’d love to be playing less than 2 hours from his Cape Coral home and it could be a big motivating factor to be playing at RJS where he has some success for Willie Taggert. I just think that the cats at One Buc won’t go after anyone with a red flag though it looks like Lynch’s issues are behind him, think of him as a dude with a mean streak who occasionally makes the boneheaded “Mike Williams” type of decisions off of the field…. He is young, only 24 despite being in his 4th season at SF. He definitely can not hurt the Bucs on D but the question is whether One Buc would take a flyer on a guy who has already got popped for a 4 game suspension ala Dougie Martin….

  54. gambelero Says:

So, am I the only one that has no clue what the Leonard->Penny reference is about?

  55. 813bucboi Says:

why don’t @Realist and @LC post after a lost?…..they only begin to post on Thursday leading up to the game after a lost!!!!!…..but when we win, they post immediately after the game, and everyday until the following game!!!!!…..after a win we get the “I told you so” repost(even tho you say nothing)!!!!!

    where you at?!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  56. Pickgrin Says:

Joe – that was great! Literally made me laugh out loud with the vivid imagery of TJ Ward coaxing while Licht peels Benjamins off a monster Glazer wad to get Ware out of retirement. Best article you’ve written in awhile. A sense of humor is definitely needed on the Tuesday following the Debacle in the Desert – part deux.

  57. Joe Says:

    Thanks Pick.

  58. martinii Says:

When Kwon returns I would expect more blitzes. Its obvious we would have to go to the bottom of the barrel to get an expensive outside pass rusher, so for now I would focus on pressure and possibly more 3-4 alignments bringing 2 LBs on every play. Like Koeter says we have to play with what we got. Next year I would focus only on pass rush and RB’s in the draft. Same for free agency only I would try to pick up another OL.

  59. Mike Johnson Says:

Come on Man..the Bucs are at the bottom in NFL sacks? You gotta be kidding me. How many sacks does..our 1st round OJ Howard have? Opps my bad, thats offense. Why he’s averaging one half catch per game. I told Y’all we should have drafted a DE>

  60. LakeLand Says:

Age is nothing but a number. Julius Peppers is 37 years old and have more sacks than the Bucs entire team. Peppers has 6.5 sacks, the Bucs team has 6.0 sacks.

  61. Bucsfan951 Says:

These comments have me laughing out loud today. My favorite? “We need JJ Watt talent.” Yeah, no Shat Sherlock. Every single nfl team, including the Texans, needs JJ Watt talent.

  62. Capt.Tim Says:

Its one thing to “plant ” a troll, to bring up poster numbers, and drawn responses.
There are no “plants” here. Frankly, Joe doesn’t have that kind of time to waste. Second, Joe filters out so many comments, which wouldn’t happen if Joe was seeking “poster numbers” as you claim. Hell, if Joe wanted numbers like you claim, Joe would run a daily rumors post, or use many other devices. Frankly, if the comments were shut off here, Joe’s business would continue on just fine. Life would be a little less entertaining, but the point is the comments are nowhere near as important as you think they are.–Joe

Its really sad to see posters starting to agree with a planted Troll.

    Noah Spence- 1 tackle
Robert Ayers Jr.- 1 tackle- thats from our DEs!!!

Gerald McCoy- 3 tackles, 1 QB sack, 3 QB hits. This is from A DT!!
If you know anything at all, you know DEs are supposed to have the stats. Not the DT

Only an absolute fool could think McCoy isnt the most Dominant DT in the game.

Since 2013-Gerald McCoy has 35.5 sacks. The most of any DT in the league.

So stop with your stupidity. This defense has 2 problems.
No DEs, and the worst CB in the league.

McCoy is the best player on this defense. By far.

Ive been posting”if only we had a DE . . .” Since preseason. If you cant rush the QB-you cant win in the NFL.

Short of signing Demarcus Ware( which I fully support). 2 possible solutions.

    Run a 3-4.
McCoy is a perfect fit at DE, so is Gholsten. Baker and Silviga are natural Nose tackles.
Spence and Beckwith at Ilb, David and Kwon at Olb.
Bench Hargreaves. Start Smith. Play Elliot.

    Or
Play Will Clark, Ryan Russell, and Larry Webster Jr. Much more at DE. They are At least big enough to compete. And they have shown some talent.
They cant be worse. Bench Hargreaves

Defense is 30th in league. Cant hurt.

Joe. “Tmaxipad” may spark arguements, and lengthen comment sections.
But obviously- From McCoys comment this Preseason, players read Joebuc- and take it personally.
    Is it worth it?

  63. Bucsfanman Says:

    You’re funny ATrain!
Riddle me this then, regardless of his paycheck, shouldn’t the other d-lineman produce? Why? Well, wouldn’t they want a good payday too?
Take off the very colorful blinders you’re wearing. I’ve openly criticized EVERY player on this team at one time or another. AND, once more, I’ll go on record as saying that this entire defensive line stinks.
By the way, you don’t sound smart when you start comparing the GOAT (Brady), Aaron Rodgers, and then……… a defensive tackle. There are ZERO comparisons to either position.
You might want to put down the Red Bull, your rants are getting a little sideways! “THE GREAT ONE”? Who said that?! You’re funny!

  64. Bucsfanman Says:

@Capt. Tim- Stats just muddy the water. You know this. It’s funny how people were jumping up and down with glee over the re-signing of Gholston, the “run-stopping specialist.” You read these posts and shake your head, “GMC’s the problem”??? Gholston, if he was so stout, should’ve accidentally sacked a QB by now. No, he’s too busy thumping his chest over a tackle he made 3 yards downfield. Maybe tmax is right! (Did I just say that?!) We’ve come to settle for mediocrity; Ayers, Gholston, Baker, Smith, McDonald, Clark, Siliga, Spence. You don’t see many coaches losing sleep over THAT line-up!
But, we did get the best blocking TE in the draft! Isn’t Luke Stocker still on the team?!
    I digress!

  65. tmaxcon Says:

ahhhhh poor litle Capt.Timmy is all butt hurt because he CAN NOT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!! GMC is a locker room cancer and the face of the basement years the record under his watch and tenure has captain proves that. You can rewrite history because your mancrush turned out to be fraud.

plant. really did you come up with that all on your own or did jack bower or scully help you out… what a dumbarse lol thanks for the laugh…

  68. Mike Johnson Says:

Tmaxcon..Funny how when Gerald does not play..our defense stinks even more. Hell, even Stevie Wonder sees that.

  69. Capt.Tim Says:

    Sorry Joe.
Weve been together too long, for me to say things like that.
    🙂

  70. ATrain Says:

They are Leaders of a Team Bucsfan

Please change your name to McCoy fan

Money doesnt matter really then why don’t the Bucs pay them all the same

    Your post makes no sense

McCoy was placed as a LEADER OF THE TEAM
    even before Jamie’s got here

Oh You think all Leaders are just QB
How about Watt bet he would put up with the soft play of McCoy
I noticed you skipped over the last part of the other NFL PLAYERS WHO CALL D MCCOY OUT
    Buy blame everyone else
The one constant has been McCoy
Coach s changed/ Gms Changed/ Every other position
    SAME RESULT
    WHY
    MR SOFT THE CANCER

  71. Capt.Tim Says:

    Look- another simpleton!!
That dont let you drive, do they?

  72. Joe Says:

So, am I the only one that has no clue what the Leonard->Penny reference is about?

    Google is your friend.

  73. Rick Says:

@gambelero, it’s a reference to a show called “the big bang theory” among the best sitcoms ever IMO. @Joe great reference btw. However I doubt that Ware signs here no matter how many 100’s Jason tosses unfortunately. I surely did not see us looking anything like this before the season began. WOW! That said I’m not giving up on this team EVER

  74. Bucsfanman Says:

ATrain- That you could muster a retort to that, I’m impressed. I will give you the courtesy of a reply.
Do I like GMC? Yes, he’s a Buc. I root for all my team.
Is GMC the best d-lineman on the team? Without question, yes.
Is GMC the best DT in the NFL? No.
Is GMC one of the best DTs in the NFL? Absolutely. His numbers say he’s top 5.
Will I change my name to McCoyfan? No, I’m a fan of ALL Buccaneers.
GMC has NEVER been a leader of this defense. NEVER. Just because he makes the most money doesn’t mean he’s supposed to be either. Who wears the earpiece on the field? It ain’t McCoy. Whoever does wear it IS your leader.
This reply is probably for naught because you’ll find a way to prop up your stupid argument that GMC is the reason that the Bucs lose. As the saying goes, you can’t argue crazy.
    Have a nice day! 🙂

  75. Skipper Says:

This guy Tmax has the same message in every post. Guessing McCoy must have stole your lunch money. Give it a rest already.
