Making Kicking Great Again

September 17th, 2017

Nick Folk had the last laugh today

The only thing weaker than the kicking of Roberto Aguayo is his ghost, which was barely heard from in today’s thunderous 29-7 victory at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway.

Nick Folk successfully shed the haunting of Bucs kickers past, drilling field goals from 50, 41 and 42 yards, and the latter was a critical boost on Tampa Bay’s opening drive.

The veteran Folk was 3-for-3, with the only stain being a missed extra point.

Today was big for Dirk Koetter’s confidence in his kicking game.

It’s so hard to be a playoff team with a garbage kicker. It’s one game, but it sure seems like the Bucs have shed the absolute mess they had last season.

Mental health counselors across the Tampa Bay area should be lighter in the wallet come Christmas time.

The 50 yarder at the first half gun was a nice little dagger. Aguayo-no can’t kick one that long. Way to pull the trigger on your mistake, Licht.

    Problem fixed!!!

    In Licht we trust!!!!

It was a nice feeling going into kick as I sat RayJay today, knowing that it was most likely that our K would produce. None of the awkward, random, inconsistent machinations we saw with Aguayo. Yup, he missed a PAT and 30-7 sounds better than 29-7, but I’ll take it.

    Missed extra point is inexcusable.

Glad Folk hit the longer field goals but he can’t miss a 33 yard kick and simultaneously breed “confidence in his kicking game”.

When Folk lined up I was very confident. When he missed the extra point I was a little shocked. Big difference from last season. Thank you Liicht.

Pickrin, it’s like pulling a wedge from 70 yds out. Can’t foresee doing it, but a little quick from the top, and she’s yanked. I’ve seen a couple missed pat’s today. They’ll be more every week. It’s not a gimme anymore. Folk is solid.

  7. Dlavid Says:

This kicking performance should put the Aguayo lovers to bed for good . The importance of a solid kicking game on display . So sweet not sweating out every kick and and keeping the momentum going with the kicking game ! Case closed .

Well OK it can be inexcusable if you must. The Great thing for Folk is, there are no excuses thrown around after a HUGE win! I have confidence in him thats for sure. Great win Bucs. Thank you! Go Bucs

Great game outta Folk, but I don’t want to have to watch the extra points being kicked. That’s prime beer-refill time that I’m still being robbed of. Keep practicing Folk.

Looked away on kicks for the first time in a year and a week.

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

He still missed an extra point.

I’m not satisfied with him…but he’s better than Aguayo. I still think he gets replaced next season.

hate to see missed XPs, but occasional misses seem to be the new normal in the league since the rule change. at least it costs just 1 point and no field position. missing a makeable FG is a dagger, 3 points out the window and the other team starts closer to midfield than your defense would like
