“Indispensable” Kwon

September 27th, 2017

Critical cog.

Is middle linebacker Kwon Alexander the most important player on the Bucs?

The Custodian of Canton, the King of New Port Richey, broadcast star of “Kaufman’s Korner” and caretaker of Dante, eye-RAH! Kaufman seems to think so.

The prized columnist of JoeBucsFan.com was holding court on his podcast yesterday and described Alexander as “indispensable.” Not only is that hard to dispute, it’s accurate.

Consider, since Alexander was drafted in 2015, he has started all but five games. Of those five starts missed — due to suspension or injury — the Bucs are 0-5.

Think about that as you slug down your orange juice this morning.

So eye-RAH! is right. When Alexander can’t go, the Bucs are in a world of hurt and the defense is just a different cat.

And if you aren’t listening to eye-RAH’s podcasts, what’s the matter with you?

    NO KWON = NO DEFENSE

The new bucs give us hope the hold over career soft losers are going to derail the train once again. After all they have no clue how to win.

  2. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

If Kwon and David are out, they need to activate Bully at MLB and move Beckwith to David’s spot.

I’m not saying that will be a sure recipe for success, but it’s the best plan I know of. Bully has heart…with starting experience he could become very good. And Beckwith has already shown he is of high potential. Heck, he might even eventually replace David.

  3. Pickgrin Says:

Need ya back ASAP Kwon. Especially with LD54 out for awhile.

  4. cover deuce Says:

It’s not like Beck has been playing like a stiff though. They need better pressure from the D-line.

  5. Easy Denman Says:

Seeing as we are 0-5 when Kwon doesnt play I’d say hes pretty damn important to this defense and team. I just want him healthy for the long haul even if it means missing a couple more games.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The Bucs have on the Practice Squad:

    Riley Bullough LB
    Channing Ward DE

    Isaiah Johnson S
    David Rivers CB
    Eric Nzeocha LB

    Austin Johnson FB
    Freddie Martino WR
    Bobo Wilson WR
    Michael Liedtke OL
    Russell Hansbrough RB
    Justin Murray T

Not the most optimal guys to rely on (yet) but you never know.

Kwon’s presence is vital….I agree…but I think missing Grimes in the Minn game hurt us the most.

We need both of them on the field Sunday.

We also need our offense which is very healthy….to carry us, for once!!!

it’s pretty hard for the offense to carry a team when the soft mentally weak defense led by cancer 93 gives up the booty so quick they have to continually play from behind.

  9. Nick2 Says:

Joe what are the chances Kwan plays this Sunday?? With him AND David out we are in a whole heap of trouble. Riley Bullough? Hey it couldn’t hurt to activate him we are in dire straits at linebacker.

  10. Nick2 Says:

At least nobody will be able to say Bullough doesn’t give it 100% We need someone like that on our defense anyway. Remember Scot Brantley? Not the fastest or most gifted but the guy balled out every damn time. That kind of mentality can be contagious as well.

  11. unbelievable Says:

Bully is a great story and his mind is great for MLB.

But he didn’t suddenly get faster by being on the practice squad for 3 weeks.

We need Kwon, badly. And LVD.

  12. FortMyersDave Says:

@ Nick2: Scot Brantley, now that guy was a monster back in the day for both the Gators and the Bucs. I heard he did have a gig on the Fox sports affiliate up in Gainesville/Ocala a few years back but that he has also fought some rather rough health issues. Guy was fun to listen with Rob Weingarten on the old 820 The Team back in the ’90s and I believe did a show before that with the Big Dog as well way before the WDAE days as well as Ronnie Lane.

    lets see….

kwon’s rookie year, we were on the verge of the playoffs…he missed the last 4 games and we lost each one….

this year, he plays game1 and the defense plays lights out….misses game game2 and the defense plays like sh!t….

    I do see a pattern….GO BUCS!!!

  14. LakeLandBuc Says:

If the Ravens can make the playoffs without Ray Lewis. Then I see no reason why we can’t win without Kwon.

  15. LakeLandBuc Says:

Ray Lewis missed 10 games during his final season with the Ravens. He back for the playoffs, and they went on to win the Super Bowl.
