Bears Shouldn’t Hang Around
September 16th, 2017By GIL ARCIA
Well, it’s opening week and excitement is in the air. The Bucs finally kick off the season and kick it off at the soon-to-be Den of Happiness.
As the Chicago Bears come into Tampa Bay with a familiar face in Mike Glennon, the focus is not really on the home team. And that’s a good thing.
Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Sun Times is already saying Glennon’s clock is ticking and that a good game on Sunday at RJS will buy him some time. However, if things go south for the Buccaneers’ former quarterback of the future, Morrissey writes the fans will start turning on him.
So are the Bucs up to the challenge? Well, they better be.
With excitement also comes nerves and some fans on socials are nervous. This could be a game where Glennon looks like an All-Pro. Personally, I doubt it.
While Glennon seemed to have managed the game well last week against Atlanta, part of it was because of what rookie running back Tarik Cohen was able to do with limited touches. The Bucs should dare Glennon to beat them and don’t give him any looks he is used to seeing from his days of practicing against their defense.
Glennon’s Week 1 stat line of 26-for-40 for 213 yards and a touchdown should not carry over into Week 2. If Tampa Bay allows him and the Bears to hang around, that’ll be when this game could turn disastrous.
The guys in pewter need to get out in front early and score often as they force Chicago drives to stall. Then Morrissey’s next article will be a thank you letter to the Bucs.

Hopefully we’ll have a good lead heading into the 4th, forcing the Bears to throw the ball and letting players like Noah pin their ears back and go after Glennon/Trubisky.
Agree with you Gil…we can’t bring our “C” game like the Falcons…or be as distracted as Houston was in their opener…and let them hang around..we need to put them behind the 8 ball as early as possible.

This has all the makings of a typical Bucs trap game where we are supposed to win and let the other team hang around and beat us in the end. Glennon will have a career day on Sunday. Our team will be gassed by mid 3rd quarter.

First game of the season can never be called a trap game.
Now the bears shouldnt hang around. The 89 bucs, with ray perkins at the helm, shouldnt have hung around with the bears either. Instead we beat them twice. 2 of our 5 wins. I agree we should win, still gota play em tho. Go Bucs
