VIDEO: Chris Godwin Working After Practice
August 3rd, 2017After practice today, winning Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter raved big time about his rookie third-round pick, wide receiver Chris Godwin.
Joe was so tempted to rehash Koetter’s Godwin-Roddy White comparison, but Joe was in no mood for a glare from Koetter.
So Joe just soaked in Koetter’s words and fantasized about Rachel Watson a White clone playing for the Bucs this season.
What a thought!
“Outstanding. He is doing a great job, the guy looks like a vet out there,” Koetter said of Godwin. “Does not play like a rookie, does not act like a rookie. Very mature and serious about his business, serious about football. Doing a really nice job out there.”
Joe agrees. Godwin is awfully dialed in at all times. He seems so hungry to work. This is not a guy you see laughing and joking on the sidelines, even if he’s getting a drink.
After practice, Godwin often takes extra work on the JUGS machine. Joe captured this video below. It’s Godwin working on contested catches with receivers coach Todd Monken (again, after practice). Sadly, Joe didn’t video the entire segment, but it was more of the same. And Godwin appeared to be hungry for Monken to keep barking at him.

He will be a major player in a few years. He has some really sticky hands.

This is probably the one dude that could really sneak up on people. Hopefully he’s not needed too much this year, but you never know when he could get called into action. I just figured he was one of many talented guys not drafted in first two rounds, but lately ive been hearing about his maturity and all the extra work he puts in, the drive he has to succeed. With how serious he’s taking things already I see great things out of him

I bet he makes rookie of the year !!!
August 4th, 2017 at 4:29 am
Rookie of the year? Mike, but he’d have to be a starter to win Rookie of Year. Perhaps on another team but doubt he’ll be starting on the Bucs, unless either ME13 or DJax gets injured early-on.

One of my colleagues, another teacher, is Penn State alumni.
He said,
“Chris Godwin has AMAZING hands. So good, he made HACKENBERG look good!!”
Hackenberg is the joke of a QB the Jets have.

This is guy is the reason that Humphries will mostly see kick return duties only this year. Key word – Mostly. Hump is limited in his route tree. Not this young man. And this is not a knock on Hump either. Hump is just limited in his effective routes (he can only run slants, short digs, screens – nothing vertical like fades, hooks, posts, curls, etc).

I rarely watch these 15 second videos. Not long enough to enjoy. Wish they were 30 seconds or more. (hint, hint) 🙂
