VIDEO: “Beast!” Jameis Talks J.R. Sweezy

August 2nd, 2017

The pads are on and right guard J.R. Sweezy is making a massive impact on his teammates. Big time! Even more than he was when he first started practicing this year.

America’s Quarterback weighed in after practice.

Enjoy Joe’s video below. Jameis’ expressions are fun after he’s asked about Sweezy, who he calls a “beast” who is oozing”tenacity.”

(Come back to soon to hear Chris Baker’s great take on Sweezy.)

Sweez about to make you eat all your words Mike Johnson. Everyone seems in awhh of his presence. ME when asked said I looked forward to seeing Sweezy in camp more so than anyone.

Everyone round here crying about the O line. The O line about to be a strength this year. “RB is still a concern” psss. And them folks in NE seem to swap’em out every season. The holes will be there I assure you. All whoever will need to do is simply hit them.

  3. Cobraboy Says:

If those guys stay healthy, the running game will finally have some huge holes and be less dependant on pure RB talent.

With two excellent WR’s and TE’s, the chances of stacking the box will be greatly reduced. And with a better OL—Sweezy will make a huge difference—expect some running game explosions.

I’m doubting Martin will be hit in the backfield on 41% of his carries in 2017.

Basically everything we try to do on offense this year should work….

Passing game, running game… I mean it’s not really gonna be possible for teams to stop us this year. Seriously, we’re too loaded

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I think it just might be possible…..just might…..that Sweezy really didn’t enjoy laying around “stuffing his pockets with the Glazers loot”
Perhaps….just perhaps….he actually likes to play and meanly hit people.

  6. TheBucsAnthem Says:

………….nothing be campfire talk…….every player is amazing in training camp……….prove it during the regular season

Just moved to Douglas GA to reunite with my special lady. Crossing the St. Mary river is like stepping into a Culture Warp. No Bucs love here, no coverage; and yes, they park their damn John Deer’s on the sidewalks. Seriously, I’m starved for Buc love here. Which is why I’m asking the Stick Carrier movement for some help watching our beloved Pewter Pirates. NFL Game Pass is ok for replay, but I want to watch live. Any ideas? Kodi?, SmartDNS? Somebody please help. Go Bucs!!

  8. darin Says:

There ya go Joe. All that talk about sweezy never playing for the bucs was a bit premature. Yes i know back injuries are tough but sometimes lets let it play out. Cant wait to see this guy and marpet blow the middle open. Go bucs

  9. teacherman777 Says:

    @tampa bay bucfan

    Thanks for being logical.

Of course the guy loves to play!!!

All the haters on here who called him a “thief” can all rot in their own spew!

    Go Sweezy!!!

  10. Mike Johnson Says:

Nole on Sat..Eat my words? I’ll forgive you for thinking we are halfway into the season already. Dementia does that sometimes…Easy money Sweezy has yet..to play..one single regualr season game now has he? Practice is..Practice. I stand by what I’ve said about severe back injuries. I also stand besides my man Sweez gettin his money for nothin and his chicks for free! You got it all twisted..I’m down with brother Sweez!

The Oline regressed noticeably last year compared to 2015 – a year in which it had gone from terrible (2013,2014) to proficient with 2 rookies starting which was damn impressive to say the least. (Mankins had something to do with that I believe).

    Not so much in 2016…

The addition of Sweezy and beefing up the center position by moving Marpet over will hopefully improve the unit. But I’ve been watching last year’s games recently and gotta tell ya – our tackles did not play well at all last year. Dot was just BAD too many games and Donovan Smith had plenty of issues as well.

Just watched the Rams game last night and Bucs, down by 4 in the 4th Q are driving strong and well into Ram territory. Jameis drops back – Robert Quinn speed dips right around the outside of Smith like he’s not even there – Simeon style tomahawk chops the ball out of Winston’s hand with his arm cocked to throw – and a Ram defender picks up the fumble and runs 65 yards with a convoy for a TD which proved ultimately (despite a valiant Winston led effort) an insurmountable lead to overcome.

Just 1 example but bad tackle play majorly effected the outcome of that game. Both tackles had penalties called on them that negated big plays and Dot had 2 that game.

If Smith and Dotson do not play better than last year – we are not solid up front. Simple as that – as the simpleton would say.

MJ I don’t require seeing him in a game. I’ve seen him man handle some of the best DTs in the nfl. Won’t be long before you see what I’ve been saying about Beastly Mr. Sweezy.

  13. Owlykat Says:

Solution on our tackles–draft a LT in first round next year and move Smith to LG and simply move Pamphile to RT. Hopefully Smith gets much improved in his third year but I sure would not bet on it.
