Not a fun scene that Gerald McCoy thought would haunt him.
There is a reason Bucs quarterbacks in practice wear orange jerseys. They are not allowed to be hit.
In the case of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, he should wear a gold jersey because he is the franchise. And GMC nearly took him out on the first practice of training camp.
On a pass play, GMC came racing in from the right side and he thought Jameis was going to cut outside when Jameis cut inside to step into the pocket. GMC clipped Jameis’ golden arm as he was throwing. Clearly could have done some damage. But luck was on GMC’s side, thought he didn’t think so.
In the background, viewers could hear winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter saying, “Stay away from the quarterback; stay away from the quarterback; stay away from the quarterback.”
GMC thought he was toast.
“Dog, I was trying to run past him,” GMC told Joe Hawley while sitting on a bench. “I thought, ‘They are going to trade me! They are going to trade me!’ That hurt me to my heart. The one guy I can’t touch. Oh, my God! The first day.”
In the next scene, it showed Jameis with a smile on his face, bro-hugging with GMC, as if to say, “No harm, no foul.”
Later talking to reporters, GMC said, “I almost teared up going to the next rep. Three is the franchise. Forget 93, forget 13, 11 and 1 – I don’t know what number he is going to be on any given day – 91, 98, 54, 58. … 3, 3 is the one. If 3 ain’t out there, eh.”

Wow DB are you a sock puppet for TMAX or a separate person. Like TMAX you offer a bunch of solid posts only to wreck your crediblity with this GMC nonsense.
GMC was NOT in #3’s shadow last night. What surprised me was that he was also not in Kwon’s shadow. GMC has a large personality and he simply loves life.
The picking up the equipment to help rookies…the talk about simply wanting to help his teammates…man I’m just amazed how much hate can blind folks to reality…but then I now have to say PRESIDENT Trump and so I guess I should have learned my lesson. Hate is an incredibly powerful debilitating force.
Anybody here can have their opinion about GMC’s actual contributions on the field. Don’t like his production or play…I disagree but that’s not hate.
But coming on here and simply MAKING up stuff about GMC’s personality in terms of not wanting to play in #3’s shadow is just…what is the word we use in 2017? SAD!!!
For heaven’s sake what did GMC tell the media…that #3 is the franchise…then listed his number and others as not being as important as #3.
And GMC is smart! Are the Dolphins Suh’s team or does Suh play in the shadow of the now injured Tannehill? A DT…even Sapp will play in the shadow of any franchise QB…GMC knows that as well.

Just weird how the on the first day of practice he’s talking about getting traded, add that to the Rhonde barber comments and GMC’s response plus the 3 pro bowlers who had a “talk” with him and of course the “talk” JW had with him and it’s possible that’s he fed up. Oh wait let’s not forget the poor sad haters

If he wanted to be traded he wouldn’t be JOKING about it. It was a joke!!! Did you not see #3 and GMC brohug after that practice.
GMC messed up and he knew it….in fact if he wanted to be traded all he has to do is actually blast #3 a couple of times in practice and he’ll be gone in a New York minute. It’s not really that hard for a player to get traded if he’s that dissatisfied.

I hearby request Gerald McCoy Day. On Gerald McCoy Day you shall hand every single fan a McCoy tee-shirt or a McCoy wife beater(your choice).
Each fan must put on the McCoy shirt before gaining admittance. If they refuse you then shall reserve your right to refuse admittance. Once inside the stick carriers shall bring any noncompliant fan to security.
Don’t worry about any problems since the number of McCoy haters is just a small handful of fans who just happen to have the loudest voices.

Why are the stick carriers shirts black? I proclaimed in a prior post that I’m a pro cheapskate but damn!!!!!!!…… I’m not cheap when it comes to something I love. That’s why I’m saving up for Yale.
