“Without Question This Is The Closest Knit Team I’ve Been On”
July 28th, 2017The math keeps adding up.
It’s all good for Tampa Bay, but it represents a ton of pressure on winning head coach Dirk Koetter and your Buccaneers.
Joe will put the addends in word form:
1) Coming off a 9-7 record, Koetter and his players are raving about the talent in the house, saying it’s markedly improved, which includes a franchise quarterback.
2) Fans are salivating, from buying bus tickets at TrainingCampExpress.com to forming the Stick Carriers and gobbling up tickets at a faster pace.
3) And now Gerald McCoy, who arrived here in 2010, said today this year’s team is a band of brothers like he’s never seen before.
“Without question this is the closest knit team I’ve been on,” said a sweaty McCoy after today’s opening training camp football session at One Buc Palace.
Add those three up nuggets up and it’s impossible to smile if the Bucs have anything less than 10 wins. They just have to improve, right?
Everything, for now, is going their way. They even appear to have kicked the kicking problem and you can bet your last dollar the guy with the most carries rushing the ball this year won’t average 2.9 yards per attempt.

Two ways this team isn’t going to the playoffs or at least a 10-6 record. 1) Jameis goes down hard sooner than later. 2) Kicking game is the same god awful show as it was last year. I also believe that this D ain’t gonna be no joke. I don’t think that stretch last year was luck, I think it was these guys finally catching on to Smitty’s scheme and now it’s just going to continue to improve even more. Fans, players, coaches, media aren’t hyped up about this team for nothing. We have almost all the pieces in place to be a team that goes very deep into the playoffs or even to the top.

10 and 6 would be a disappointment in my book. Waaayy too much talent for a lack luster season like that. People need to raise they’re expectations man. I can’t stop thinking about the Seahawks and after beating the pats they felt they could beat anyone in the league. As I’ve said before they finish 9 and 7 the “you mad bro” year. Ousted from the tournament I believe by the falcons. That following season I’ll never forget it, they came out and beat everyone’s @$$ in the pre season. That feel or look about them carried over into the regular season where they finish 12 and 4 enroute to beating the brakes off denver in the superbowl.

The way they looked in that pre season is what I’m expecting from us this pre season. A clear defined mission. Yea Its Just pre season,Ion give a s@$!. Beat a b@$!# @$$ ya hurd me. Set the tone, let the entire league know”we on some other s@$! this year”. Step aside or get ya @$$ trampled.

Just days ago this McCoy person was threatening to leave the team on social media and suddenly it is the closest team he’s ever seen.
I’ve been a fan of McCoy because he is a Buccaneer and he’s usually pretty good. I now wonder if his talent is worth the turmoil it now is evident he can cause at the drop of a hat.
Slow growing cancers are still cancer and if he is so thin skinned that he jumps on twitter to cry for all of the world to see, you have to wonder what he is like in the locker room.
Don’t expect to read the truth from the team or his teammates and coaches. There are problems brewing in Gerald McCoy and I hope he doesn’t bring others down with him when he finally goes full stupid.

I would tend to agree, Nole, but you also have to consider the talent in the division and strength of schedule.
I want a team that plays great no matter how tough the opponent, but I also understand they still have to get to that level. I think the Falcons will take a step back, but the Panthers will take a step forward again. And I think the Saints are due for a step forward.
Two years ago, the Panthers played very well. They deserved the Superbowl trip, and they were built right. That hasn’t changed much. They took a step back, but they know they can go all the way now…they’ll get better again.
The Falcons, I think, had an easy schedule last year. No so much this year. They are in for a wide awakening, especially when they face the Bucs and Panthers.
BUT…it’s still a tough division. Drew Brees is going to be pushing for a last big accomplishment before retiring.

But…I’m currently leaning toward an 11-5 result myself.

I feel what you saying Bonzai. And you know when I think back to that hawks team I remember us being the only team from our division to give them some run that season. Glennon of all people almost went over and got it done.

At least 10 wins or bust … but … the ONLY penciled in losses I have for the Bucs are the home game against the Pats and the away game in Green Bay, that’s it … I’d consider 10-6 progress but I’m hoping for somewhere in the 11-14 range
