A New Bucs Tradition?

Cool video here of what it’s like for a young family when daddy goes off to training camp.

It seems (new?) Bucs kicker Nick Folk has a summer tradition. Just when he’s to leave the house and join training camp, he shaves his head. This year, Folk had his kids buzz his dome. The reaction from his young children ranged from delight to horror to sorrow.

And yes, Bucs players show up at One Buc Palace today, the veterans. Rookies are already there. The Bucs will have a handful of players available to Joe to chat with and there will be stories later.

Training camp starts tomorrow at 8:45 a.m.

Joe wonders if Folk wins the place-kicking battle and has a strong season, if other Bucs become convinced shearing their locks will bring good luck, and start a Bucs tradition?

    Look at those little rug rats. Cute!

    I wish both kickers well….but remember, the kicking position is volatile. Aguayo could just as easily comeback with a dominant year. Aguayo has the leg, just has to keep his head still and follow his leg through the ball towards the center of the uprights. Too much sidewinding last season….and not proper striking.

    @feelthepewterpower-What has Roberto done at the Pro level to give any indication the he “has the leg”?

    He was good in college at making really short extra points and mid range kicks, at the pro level he’s shown he doesn’t have it upstairs or downstairs(leg)

    Funny if Roberto shows up at camp bald.

    @STUD….that’s what I was thinking…Roberto can barely hit a 40yard kick consistantly….GO BUCS!!!!

    Every team I’ve played for has done this for camp. I always thought it was a team unity thing but it could just be cuz it so fckn hot under those helmets.

    Then it usually morphs into no shaving until we win a playoff spot. This is awesome these guys are actually building a team rather than a bunch of individuals stars. That’s what it takes to win.

    Koetter may go down as one of the best HC in Tampa history. I just wish he had a better off coaching staff but again wtf do I know?!

    Good looking kids. Looks like mommy’s got a pretty big bun in the oven to add to the total as well. Nick was quite serious when he talked about intending to win the job because he’s got a family to feed.

    Aguayo better bring his “A” game to training camp…

    If this does not make it to Hard Knocks I’ll be surprised. If it’s up on youtube it’ll get a lot of hits. Those kids are just too darn cute! I love the little guy who is horrified by what is happening. LMAO
