“Knocking On The Door”
July 8th, 2017Bold predictions from a national columnist.
Heavy metal headbanger Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is leaving little doubt. In this CBSSports.com video, La Canfora makes two bold predictions: The Bucs will win the NFC South this year. And if that happens, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, will be among the top six quarterbacks in the NFL.
La Canfora goes into detail why he’s pushing his chips in on the Bucs and Jameis in the video below.

If the Bucs win the division, I think they will most certainly be the most battle tested team in the NFC and I give them the best chance to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

A national pundit talks about a Bucs QB as approaching TRULY ELITE status!!!!!
Has that ever happened in Tampa Bay’s history. I mean literally….EVER?
We’ve seen a lot of false flags planted…JFRO…Trent…teasers…but this season we get to see what it looks like when you have a franchise QB under center.
GO BUCS!

Interestingly, La Canfora also picked the Panthers to win the NFC South in that article (Top-5 underachieving teams who could make playoffs this year). But in the Bucs writeup he adds … “Why they won’t make the playoffs: Just like the Panthers, the Buccaneers face a difficult division. It will be hard for both of those teams to make the playoffs, although not impossible.”
And therein lies our problem. We happen to be in the toughest division IMO in all of football. I certainly don’t write off the Falcons (last year’s Super Bowl 2nd half was bizarre, but Falcons did work to improve their defense this offseason & they did have the #1 offense in the NFL). Saints probably won’t win the division, but they do have the #2 offense in the NFL and always seem to do well against the Bucs, especially at home (Saints are 7-3 against the Bucs overall in last 5 years, but 4-1 against us in the Superdome in that period). Every game this coming season will be a dogfight.

Defense – Im confused, he makes a video saying he predicts the Bucs will win the division but you say he writes in the article that the Bucs won’t make the playoffs?

TouchDownTampaBay, that particular CBS Sports article was by Will Brinson yesterday BTW, not by La Canfora (my bad). In the article he uses the “Why They Will” AND “Why They Won’t” arguments vis-a-vis making the playoffs. The other ‘underachieving’ teams were Panthers, Cardinals, Chargers & Titans (uses the same approach for each of them). Here’s the link (good read anyways): http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/here-are-five-teams-who-will-make-nfl-playoffs-in-2017-after-missing-out-last-year/.

Sound like the obvious being stated if you ask me. All these TV heads trying to look like the smartest people in the room now. Give a former #1 draft pick,Heismen trophy winner and national champion some tools to work wit and that can be expected.

The Bucs division is like murderers row, sorting out the final kingpin on the block.

You better believe it!

Just beware of grandiose expectations which all too often can lead to humiliating disappointments. Meanwhile . . . . . go Bucs!

Toughest division hands down
Both CAR and ATL will be top 6 teams in the NFC and make the playoffs
NO gave away Brandin cooks there #1 threat and their defense is too young. I see 6 to 8 wins

carolina hot garbage and atl biggest challenge will be avoiding the Superbowl loser hangover. Wouldn’t surprise me if are not in contention late next season.
July 8th, 2017 at 12:29 pm
As for n.o. sean payton ain’t even concerned with defense.
July 8th, 2017 at 12:34 pm
Why is carolina hot garbage you ask??? Two words scam newton, dude full of his self. They blessed him wit a MVP now he round here talking bout he just as good if not better than the golden boy. Not hardly, the golden boy can read defenses (really well I might add). Bum shoulder and a weak down field completion percentage and some of you good folk complain about Fameis’s. Those hits adding up, won’t last a whole lot longer if he doesn’t adjust his playing style.

Frauds I tell you. The south is for the taking. And we in the batter’s box.
July 8th, 2017 at 1:35 pm
We matchup good against Atlanta and I look to see two good games vs them. The saints suck IMO and a true contending team should sweep them. Historically Carolins gives us the biggest fits fits and should give us a tough game if they continue their power run game.
NFC South is shaping up to be a three way dogfight

Bucs can win the division. Cam has shoulder problems, Kuechly has a head injury, and KB is the size of a lineman. Their window is closing. ATL will still be in shock from last year’s SuperBowl debacle. NO will suck out loud with old man Brees throwing to… no one.
