Down Goes Doug Martin; Up Goes Kwon Alexander, DeSean Jackson
July 24th, 2017The face of the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway has changed.
The outer facades are traditionally adorned with truly giant images of key Buccaneers.
Last year, Tampa Bay’s big money running back had his own dedicated area. The northeast corner belonged to Doug Martin.
But now Martin’s image has been removed.
Per the Buccaneers’ official Twitter feed, the new “tower walls” are up and Gerald McCoy and America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, stand alone with their own images. Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson share one stadium section, and it’s Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David sharing another.
Joe assumes this is what happens when you average 2.9 yards per carry through a whopping 144 attempts.
Kwon is pumped at making his first appearance on the stadium. “Work my whole life for this,” he Tweeted yesterday
Joe’s happy for Kwon and thoroughly approves of the Bucs chosen for the honor, though Joe could see how Cameron Brate or Brent Grimes might be wondering what more they have to do.
Work my whole life for this !! Thank you God! Just the beginning !! pic.twitter.com/Xb7NZCfxmG

that duo is highly disrespected by the pundits. I think it speaks volumes as to what the franchise thinks of them and mad props to them for celebrating the fact that the bucs have a top 3 LB corp in the NFL.

Go Ghengis Kwon!
July 24th, 2017 at 1:24 pm

And The Man

Agree completely with Dave and these selections.
Brate and Grimes are terrific players but they are not as well known nor do they have the same impact as the six who were selected.

Smh Bryan Anger should be up there

You don’t put your marketing dollars on a guy you can’t count on, especially when he won’t even play til the 4th game of the year.
July 24th, 2017 at 3:35 pm
Good choices. I expect every one of those players to ball out this year.

LOVE THE CHOICES
Would of been nice to see all 4 corners have at least two guys however.
I think they can AND SHOULD still do it.
The two guys that deserve to be up there are Mike Smith (next to GMC) and Coach (next to JW)
That would of been the way to go IMHO.

Should put some fans in the background cheering loudly. For example – GMC with Tmaxicon in the background in his GMC jersey cheering for GMC.

^^^^note to self >this is about the players!!
July 24th, 2017 at 4:19 pm
Joe sounds if he is excited to see that dm off the board.

*depending.

Desean Jackson has not accomplished anything with the Bucs! He has not earned the right to have his mural up on Ray Jay stadium, that right goes to the TE that will Make America Brate Again!
July 24th, 2017 at 7:06 pm
I mostly like the choices. I kinda agree with Brate Again, Desean has not earned this honor yet as a buccaneer. Bucs are gambling that he will. Hope they’re right!

Grimes balled out should a put him up there with em

It’s true,..we don’t know which Doug we will get this year. The front office can’t stop gushing about the dougernot, so our hopes is we get the probowl version. Should not worry about some billboard to have an outstanding year. Just take one look at the past, and we out.
