Seething Kwon
June 29th, 2017Seems like Kwon is going to bust somebody up.
Kwon Alexander, the talented and fiery leader of the Bucs defense, who Bucs types like to refer to as the “Jameis of the defense,” seems like he wants to strap on a chinstrap now and start breaking bones.
And it is still June!
Alexander has been in a slow burn of late. He missed the cut in NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players” list, an item allegedly voted on by 700 players, and he was none too thrilled about that. Yesterday, Joe brought word how Alexander also was peeved the Tampa Bay linebacker corps did not make the cut in the top-10 linebacker units named by the network.
Apparently, that was too much for Alexander as he issued a direct warning to Bucs opponents this season on Twitter.
@Kwon: I swear every chance I get this year I will be trying to break somebody face mask ! Li-Ti-Rilla
Yeah, yeah. This may be just silly public woofing in order to get Alexander to motivate himself. And talk in June means little to nothing come September.
But damn, Alexander sure gets Joe worked up for football. Man!

@Joe … “NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players” list, an item allegedly voted on by 700 players.” interesting use of the word ‘allegedly’ Joe. Did the NFL players vote on that Top-100 list or not? If they didn’t, then a number of previous articles on Jameis & GMC based on that Top-100 list would be meaningless. If it is based on the players votes, why the word ‘allegedly’? Did the NFL (or the Russians) tamper with the results?

Robert Ayerd spilled the beans Rules. Said the players only actually vote on the top 20.

Apparently, they only vote for the top 20 so that makes the bottom 80 suspect.

The Bucs have a slightly below average secondary and an average defensive line, but I agree with Kwon regarding their linebackers clearly being a top 10 group.

@Defense and NOS –
It would make no sense and be far too time consuming to expect 700 players to list out their top 100 players. Think about it. It would make far more sense to get a top 10 or 20 list and then rank them that way. This is how all star voting goes. You can then easily flesh out the remaining 80 players based on number of votes. Easy.

Correct..other NFL players spilled the beans as well…

Motivation!!!
Kwon is tired of hearing he can’t tackle or cover receivers, Sweezy can’t pass block, Donovan Smith can’t block at all, Grimes is too old, Hargreaves is a bust, McCoy is overrated, and the bucs don’t have a running back.
I hope visiting teams bring some body bags…

I realize it might be a bit time consuming to ask players to vote for 100…..but, let’s face it…..only voting for the top 20 would certainly skew at least players 80-100……..the list becomes more meaningless when you look at it that way.
And, for me, it would take more time for me to try to pick the top 20 than to expand it to more players, I’d be pondering as to who the last 5 players should be…..the more players you can put on the list the easier it becomes.

Ghengis Kwon.
Anyone who thinks our linebacker group is top 10…or even top 20…is out of touch with reality.
They have done absolutely nothing to earn such designations, and until they do, they deserve no acknowledgement. If Kwon, much as I like him, wants acknowledgement, then he needs to earn it through action.
Right now, he is the ONLY bright spot in the group. David has all sorts of potential, but it just isn’t showing up on the field. He’s a vet now. Excuses are gone. Steo up or ship out.
