Caution!
May 1st, 2017Either this is very good or very bad for Tampa Bay fans.
Joe does not watch Colin Cowherd, who Joe enjoys calling “Cowturd.” No use for his shrill act. So words from his mouth come with a major attachment: “CAUTION.”
Cowturd is notorious for bragging about how he doesn’t care if he is accurate, only interesting. That’s where Joe draws a line. If one isn’t trying to be accurate, then what the hell is the point? Joe would rather waste time talking to a dude in a bar over a couple of pints if accuracy isn’t a goal.
To this day, Joe cannot fathom that there were actually sober suits at BSPN that one day said, “You know, it would be a good idea to can Tony Kornheiser and replace him with this fraud from Portland.”
Cowturd has now taken his act to FS1 and proclaimed today that the Bucs got the best draft of any NFL team this weekend. You can watch it all right here.
Joe is hard-pressed to find anyone who thinks that Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht stunk up the joint in the draft over the weekend.
But if this fool Cowturd thinks the Bucs cleaned house, not sure if Buccaneers fans should revel in this information or be very scared?

He is wrong
May 1st, 2017 at 4:12 pm
Cowturd, Classic.
That being said, Think we got a solid B+ draft, and addressed the majority of our needs.
Somewhat disappointed that we didn’t address pass rusher, But I have a strong gut feeling that the Beckwith pick is indicative that Schmitty will be a blitzing fool this season.
Perhaps Licht has his eyes laser focused on potential cap related cuts around the league that he can sign in order to further address our Dline depth.
All in all, I’m very pleased. I would not be shocked if we see our GM receive a big money contract extension in the near future.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:12 pm
Title should say take notice! Reliable or straight up wrong everyone is starting to take notice of the Bucs. Hard to pick out many teams that have the fire power (on paper) that we do.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:14 pm
Sorry Joe but as a loyal reader it would be great if you would refrain from writing anything that includes the opinions of this idiot. I don’t care what he said, beggared as you pointed out he doesn’t give a damn about the accuracy of anything that comes out of his mouth, his only motivation is to enrage viewers and be controversial. I’d ask that we please go back to forgetting that we share air with this fool. Thank you

Something about this dude freaks the hell out of Kobe…
“I have no doubt there is a Marv Albert thing going on with this guy”
Kobe Faker
May 1st, 2017 at 4:18 pm
that guy is THE WORSTTTTTTT. i used to listen to ESPN Radio while i worked, and i wanted to crash the van every time i heard his voice. and he’s definitely wrong. I’m very pleased with the Bucs draft, but i don’t know if i’d go far enough to say it was the best one.
that dip$hit probably picked a name out of a hat, and went along with it.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:19 pm
We had a solid draft wouldn’t call it the best in the league, but it is far from the worst (Rams or Jets).
Either way like Bucnjim said, people are taking notice of the Bucs now.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:19 pm
I typically don’t like him but this was a cogent segment. I didn’t have the feeling about Evans that I do now, partially because I was locked onto Godwin at 50. Taking him in the third and all was forgiven and I was able to look at Evans with a bit more understanding. I wanted the Pass Rusher too but I believe the Bucs are transitioning to a hybrid scheme of defense that will be flexible and change situationally so we might be better off on pass rush than we think. We just got really accustomed to coaches that can’t make players like Bennett or Revis fit in there scheme.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:21 pm
On a side note, in his “moves he loved, liked, and loathed” story, Adam Schein thinks that drafting OJ Howard earned the Bucs a playoff berth.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:25 pm
Nobody is wrong all the time, right? Maybe it’s this guy’s turn to finally say something meaningful???
May 1st, 2017 at 4:27 pm
At this point it does not matter what anybody thinks. Because the players have not gone to camp or made any teams. Only the out come of the season will matter.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:30 pm
Niners took Dabears to the woodshed; bills had a great draft; Vikings made the best move-up; and the Packers made the most of what they had.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:31 pm
If I had to say who i think won the draft, I’d have to give it up to Johnny Lynch.
Committed highway robbery on the Bears, and Got 2 potentially game changing players to lead his defense. Reuben Foster yells and screams “I’M THE NEXT RAY LEWIS!” with his play on the field. Solomon Thomas is just as physically talented as Gerald McCoy, but flashes next level Nastiness on Tape, he’s got a bull rush, enough speed to bend the edge, and he can kick inside as an interior rusher in certain passing situations.
Toss in potential impact skill position players in Joe Williams & George Kittle, and I’d have to give ol’ Johnny Lynch at least an A- just based on how good I think his 1st round was.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:31 pm
That’s a very biting observation, Kobe. Toupee. I mean, touche.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:34 pm
Joe sez:
Neither. Hit ignore on all post-draft reviews.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:38 pm
We will know in 3 years
May 1st, 2017 at 4:38 pm
Blake
Agree completely about John Lynch. He had the best draft. But he started armed with some good choices. Speaking of that I thought the usually woeful Brownies did a pretty good job of not messing up a lot of picks.
We had a very good draft with potential to be great. We know OJ is the real deal…it’s our 2nd and 5th round picks that will tell…if Evans turns out to be a good safety and if we’ve found another RB and our “committee” is now set…this could be a draft we won’t forget.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:41 pm
A starting TE
A starting S
A WR who should step in as the 4th
A RB and LB competing to start
A beast at DT who should play right away on run stuffing downs.
Seems good on paper
May 1st, 2017 at 4:44 pm
It’s always comforting to get good reviews no matter what the source…..I’ll take it.
It becomes more and more difficult to have top drafts as your picks get higher….and we don’t get compensatory picks or have picks from trades….
Of course, a team that has two number ones, and two threes….and 10 total picks should have the best draft.
What I look for is a guarantee out of the #!……and a starter out of either #2 or 3……and a keeper from 4-7…..we do that each year and we are golden.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:48 pm
We had potentially a very good draft however we did not have the best. We wound up with 6 players. If 4 of them become solid starters then we should all be extremely happy. Other teams had many more picks such as the Browns. So to say we had the best draft is a little inaccurate to say the least at this point.

Regarding Blake …’s comment about more blitzing this year. Maybe. A film I saw of Beckwith looked like he was shot out of a cannon as he nailed a runner in the backfield. Don’t care what is 40 time was, that was impressive. Would be nice to see here occasionally.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:53 pm
Greg Rosenthal picked the Bucs as one of his 5 teams that improved the most after the draft. Last year I hated our draft, this year I love our draft. I believe that we had an excellent draft.
May 1st, 2017 at 4:59 pm
How could you hate Noah Spence in the second round LakeLand?
That pick had me hyped, I had him as my top rated pure pass rusher behind Joey Bosa. And still believe in my heart that if this kid stays healthy, he’ll be a force in this league.
I can remember to this day falling in love with his highlight reel. The kid is legit.

I have no problem with what he said, from a value stand point, those players as with almost any player though, could’ve been off the board according to some draft pundits.
May 1st, 2017 at 5:07 pm
Blake..on my board I had WR Michael Thomas ahead of him. And i believed that Thomas was also a bigger need than Spence. Matter of fact during last season draft. I had Laremy Tunsil, Micheal Thomas and Vonn Bell as our top three picks. But
May 1st, 2017 at 5:09 pm
This is a new season, and this draft was excellent. And I believe Kendell Beckwith and Justin Evans will be the cream of this draft.

Brain fart with the 2 pick.

Doesn’t NOS live in O-town?
If so this might be him….a new name popped up on JBF 2 days after the draft…
407BucLovinHomie…gave the draft like a D-. No mention of Cook though.
Pretty sure Orlando is 407 area code though. lol I’m on the case!
Go Bucs!

May 1st, 2017 at 5:48 pm
Blake…Vernon Hargreaves had a solid season last year. Now I’m glad that Jason Licht drafted him over Tunsil.
May 1st, 2017 at 6:43 pm
Any lack of a running game is on Licht. Everyone knew the Bucs’ running game is suspect and they did nothing to address the need the fact that there was multiple opportunities to fix this mess is also on Licht. This is a rehash of last year’s WR corps. He’s pinning a lot of hope on the legs of a drug addict.
Doug Martin better return from rehab better than Robert Downey Jr in IRON MAN.
May 1st, 2017 at 6:44 pm
Still not sure why so many posters kept talking about the need to draft a DE. I just didn’t see the pressing need unless they felt a generational type of player fell into thier lap. We used a 2nd rounder on Spence, have Ayers who is decent, J Smith who has had success when healthy and a couple of role players that can spell those guys when needed. I felt that safety, WR, RB and some defensive pieces were much more important. I do think we could use some help on the o-line but they only have so many picks. Next year I think they will look for a guard and a RT first and address the defense. All in all this was a strong draft. Howard seems like a sure homerun and I think J Evans is going to be a good upgrade in the secondary.
May 1st, 2017 at 6:44 pm
Skip Bassless is the worst! Absolutely no semblance of manhood with him. He’s a pee sitting down on his French bidet kinda guy(al). When I used to listen to sports radio about 10 years ago or so I thought he was entertaining.

I mean I thought Colon Calherd was entertaining not Skippy

Off season championships are easy.
Let’s see what happens with other teams on the field.
Remember rock star got his name due to all his media appearances. Didn’t work much on Sunday’s.
May 1st, 2017 at 7:06 pm
He said we had the best draft in terms of Value.
I agree
May 1st, 2017 at 7:11 pm
I don’t think the Bucs had the best draft at all. Sorry. I know it’s all ‘team’ by saying they did, but I won’t lie.
There were other teams that got hold of fantastic talent. Talent I wish we had gotten a hold of. But that’s water under the bridge.
I think the Bucs had at least a 50% successful draft that is pretty clear right now. The other 50%? We’ll have to wait and see how injuries and talent work out over the next year or so. They might all be good, they might not.
There is nothing but hype all over the place for every team.
We didn’t address all of the most important needs. Nothing on the offensive line was addressed because Jason Licht thinks the one we have is good enough…except we saw that it wasn’t last year. Sure, the whole Sweezy thing is happening and Marpet is moving to center…but that will do absolutely nothing to fix right tackle…our main weakness…and it creates uncertainty at LT and Center also.
He should have drafted a center and had Sweezy learn RG, and kept Marpet in place. Sweezy hasn’t played in a while…and he was only learning LG before his injury. He could easily make the switch to RG with the same learning curve.
May 1st, 2017 at 7:14 pm
Draft grades are meaningless at this point. Let’s grade it three to five years from now. That being said, how would you all grade the Bucs 2013 draft? Oh the memories!
May 1st, 2017 at 7:15 pm
Was a great draft. Not really any pick i hate. The move up for the LB would be closest then the Evans pick; but both went in their projected range and fit needs. Some rumors had Evans going late round 1; and Beckweth was a R2 projection before the ACL which prob knocks him a round.
Per PFF; Evans had the 3rd best coverage rating in the nation. He was named co-MVP with Garret – and how in the hell can you not love this characteristic:”Soft-spoken but carries a walloping stick” – dudes gonna fit in well with this locker room. Compares to Karl Joseph via NFL.com and Earl Thomas via PFF
Howard was absolute steal. Godwin was a huge steal and I was a bit shocked to see the few WRs that went before him. He could be a #1 WR for a team like the Browns
McNichols seems to be a perfect fit for us and was great value that late. Love the 7 round run stuffer we needed that as well. Can’t get everything in one draft but we did well.
2018 = DE/CB/DT/OT and maybe OG if this line doesn’t pan out like they think. Maybe RB. Should be set at WR
May 1st, 2017 at 7:36 pm
In the FO’s opinions (you know the ones that matter) they addressed the needs THEY feel were most important. Sorry It wasn’t up to some of the GM’s standards we have littering these boards lolol.
And again he didn’t say best overall he said best in terms of value which he clearly explains.
Stevie T will be on our roster come the start of the season. Bet on it.
May 1st, 2017 at 8:11 pm
I have any respect at all for very very few in the media to start with. Many are one step above slip-and-fall lawyers and three steps above axe murderers that eat their victims. The media is chock full of screw-your-buddy people who would sell their mothers for an exclusive, and often don’t care who they embarrass along the way.
But the national clowns, good or bad, do a lot more than the local wannabe’s like TBT to shape national image and start the broader dialog in anything they cover. So it’s always a good thing when our local team gets positive coverage from the national media.
We shouldn’t point and name call…we should feed it where we see it!
May 1st, 2017 at 8:16 pm
@ PR
Well said sir.
May 1st, 2017 at 8:20 pm
If he were just talking about offense I would say no one filled out their roster better than us this off-season. Defense is my only worry with this team now. I can’t wait to see these guys get to work because besides the obvious Howard pick this draft seems like it’s not his best but you at least wait for them to get in training camp
May 1st, 2017 at 8:39 pm
PR…”Big Stevie” will be a fan favorite I’m betting, starting with Hard Knocks.
May 1st, 2017 at 9:41 pm
“…he isn’t interested in accuracy?” Fox has an opening.
May 2nd, 2017 at 2:07 am
Cowherd was merely indicating that every player the Bucs drafted was slated to be drafted earlier than they did and no other team can say that (in his opinion.) Nearly every other talking head on TV has said the same thing about the Bucs draft (Kiper included.).
Bucs got “value” from their picks and didn’t reach on any of the players they drafted. While most people on here may have wanted a different player or two aside from who was actually drafted the Bucs were one of the few teams that apparently didn’t listen to their fans and drafted the best available player that was available at a needed position. They may not all be sexy picks top to bottom, but hopefully they will all be contributors.

In 2015 the day after round 1 ended, Cowturd had a lovely video basically guaranteeing the world that Jameis Winston would get into trouble and embarass the bucs
May 2nd, 2017 at 11:00 am
…so, his endorsement of our draft in 2017 means about as much to me as his critique of our QB selection in 2015 did. it’s all noise
May 2nd, 2017 at 11:37 am
I like to call him Coward; he blamed Sean Taylor’s lifestyle when he died before he knew anything about the situation. And he didn’t replace Kornheiser; Tony had too much on his plate and decided to give up the radio show but later returned to do a local show which took that clown off the air in DC.

@Blake,
Colin Cowerd lists the Bucs, the 49ers and the Patriots as the team’s with the best draft class. Each team is listed as the best depending upon the criteria used to evaluate the draft.
I’m amazed at the number of posts critical of the comments made by C.C. since it’s blantaly obvious only a couple people actually took the time to listen to what He said
May 2nd, 2017 at 5:41 pm
@Blake,
Colin Cowerd lists the Bucs, the 49ers and the Patriots as the team’s with the best draft class. Each team is listed as the best depending upon the criteria used to evaluate the draft.
The Bucs in his opinion is the best in terms of value. Value being when a player was picked vs when the player was projected to be picked.
The Patriots was rated as the best draft class in terms of the number of plays He expects the players to contribute.
It’s painfully obvious that C.C. is not declaring that the Bucs had the best draft class unless you’re looking at it from a value
stand point.
I’m amazed at the number of posts critical of the comments made by C.C. since it’s blantaly obvious only a couple people actually took the time to listen to what He said before posting.
Blake I’m sure you understand the only comments specifically to you is in regards to the niners. The other is to a larger audience.

So, I have a choice between ‘Pat & Aaron’ show or ‘CowTurd’ on my drive home ….. All CC wants to talk about is the NBA, ugh. P&A, eh, they try.
