“Nerdy” Bucs Preduction
April 22nd, 2017Talk about going out on a limb!
Yes, it’s a lot of fun, mindless fun, to look at the schedule and try to predict how the Bucs will finish the 2017 season. Sure, this is before rosters are set and before the draft. Joe has noticed uptight Tommies on Twitter with their briefs bunched up, sniffing at those who stoop to such fun.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go back to your room and do arithmetic problems until mom calls you for dinner. Meanwhile, Joe will go frolic with babes at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach.
One guy who admits being “nerdy” with the schedule is Nick Wright of FS1. He cut a Facebook video that predicts each and every game 2017 season. And Wright found out that a certain surprise team will wind up with the best regular season record in the NFL.
That will be your Tampa Bay Buccaneers, baby.
Wright thinks the Bucs will finish 13-3!
You can watch (and listen) to Wright’s full Bucs break down in this video.

Wouldn’t 13-3 be the best record ever for the Bucs?
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:21 am
That is pretty optimistic to say the least lol
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:21 am
Kiss of Death. I remember Lin Dawson on Inside the NFL on HBO in 1983 predicting the Bucs would win the Super Bowl after a 4-0 preseason. They went 2-14.
It’s way too early to be making season predictions, even for my pal Ira, when the draft hasn’t even happened yet.
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:23 am
That’s some bad juju right there Joe!! That’s how teams go 4-12.
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:37 am
prediction (sp)
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:37 am
The future is so bright I need to wear sunglasses.
Go Bucs!!!
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:38 am
You don’t accomplish that with some developmental DE. You do however increase the chances by adding as many weapons as possible. Dushe I’m still waiting for your Summer’s Eve @$$ to tell me how many sack leaders have won superbowl over the last ten years. Take ya time I’ll consider your age.. Did the pats even having starting DE’s last season. What exactly was threes falcons defense ranked again??? Bet I could tell they’re offensive ranking real quick Dushe..

@ Jim
Wouldn’t 13-3 be the best record ever for the Bucs?
Indeed it would. 12-4 in 2002 was the best the Bucs have ever finished…
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:43 am
Got ya fingers cross huh Summer’s,ol Nosbos get under ya skin??? Praying he’ll one-day just go away. Don’t fret none Popa smurf my days here are numbered, won’t be necessary to mix words wit ya whack @$$ after DC4 is drafted because the mission will be complete. But until then howdy partner..
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:54 am
We can easily go 9-7 again but I think we will do 1 better and finish 10-6 just making it into the playoffs.

““Nerdy” Bucs Preduction”
Might want to check the spelling of your headline Joe
13-3 is – um – let’s just say unlikely. Unlike the Pats – we ain’t playing in a crappy division.
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:57 am
This is the second NFL commentator who has predicted big things for the Bucs that I have heard of. Hope they don’t jinx the Bucs. I’ve been saying all offseason that we are just about two or three players away from being a really good team. I’m hoping we go all in on this draft and trade those future picks.
April 22nd, 2017 at 8:59 am
Gotta shake that loser mentality Funky. Why cant they go 11-5 or better if they draft well.
April 22nd, 2017 at 9:16 am
What Touchdown said.
April 22nd, 2017 at 9:24 am
Again…I believe the talent…assuming an even decent draft and the pickup of a true NFL RB whether drafted or FA then it’s down to the sports gods.
#1 issue as with every team but perhaps our greatest weakness if you compare us to the other “quality” teams….NE…Pittsburgh…is INJURIES. The really good teams are generally deep enough to sustain their seasons even with injuries.
I do not believe we are there yet. IMHO it’s our biggest weakness. We’ve finally assembled a team capable of winning a championship but we’re not very deep.
OL may be the exception if Sweezy comes back healthy and Benenoch is ready.
#2 Team leadership….I believe we’re definitely there at least both on and off the field both players and coaches which is another reason I’m looking forward to Hard Knocks. This is a smart team with class.
#3 Luck…bounces of balls…do we get enough of our starters to have career years in the same season…
Let’s put it this way…ask yourself this. Which is more far fetched.
13-3…..or 3-13 ?
April 22nd, 2017 at 9:37 am
@Stpetebucsfan
3-13 seems more far fetched.
April 22nd, 2017 at 9:46 am
I am in the wait until the Bucs draft before predictions crowd. After game 3 of the pre season, I think a more educated guess can be made.
April 22nd, 2017 at 9:47 am
He says that we will beat the Giants, Packers, Patriots.. and the Falcons twice. But he has us losing to the Panthers, Bills and Vikings. So much for predictions.

lol That reminds me of watching a game last season with my mom (Bucs fan) and she says to me during the game. “They need to get in FG range.” For the first time in years I shot back at her and said, “That mentality has stop mom, expect TD’s”.
April 22nd, 2017 at 9:54 am
Joe laughs at mock drafts but not at schedule predictions before the draft or before rosters are even set? That makes little if any sense at all. I wonder if his opinion would be the same if they predicted 5-11 for the Bucs…
April 22nd, 2017 at 9:57 am
And I’m typically a woe is me type of Buc fan. Even during the offseason.
Last time I was this excited about a season was coming into 2013 with the team going 7-9 the year before. I predicted 11-5 back then. We all know how that turned out though, but this team is different.
I’m ready for a deeeeeep playoff run in 2017. Sure it would be nice to wait for the draft and final roster, but why? I can change my prediction down the road.
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:05 am
We can go 13-3..if we limited our turnovers and create more turnovers. It’s a must that we win the turnover battle against these teams.
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:10 am
I’m not talking about fumbles and interceptions only. Our defense need to get off the field and quit giving teams second chances with these silly P.I and holding call. We would have beaten the Raiders if not for the stupid holding call against Jude. We had far too many big plays on offense call back for stupid penalties.
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:11 am
Does Joe frolic with babes?…really?
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:15 am
Dallas…Jason Licht Ale? It’s a babe-magnet.
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:16 am
Hey nosbos, im all for making predictions and being sold on something, but if it does not happen will you be back to eat your crow, or will you just dissapear?
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:21 am
Dreaming
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:32 am
Dallas, I doubt it when one Joe is married and the other isn’t what you’d call a babe magnet.
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:46 am
Wow. Im about it. 13-3 works for me! We gotta defend our efing house from those punks from up north too! They think we should bow at their feet and the national media just reinforces their attitude. No more! We’re taking this league on and off the field!
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:50 am
Well on the positive side..Mike Smith and Dirk Koetter did go 13-3 in Atlanta. They know what it takes to go 13-3, the key is getting the players to believe.
April 22nd, 2017 at 10:51 am
Mojiska …NOS has JBF bets he has to settle too.
April 22nd, 2017 at 11:18 am
… the only frolicking
Joes do is with their ED pills and Diabetes medicine!
LOL!
April 22nd, 2017 at 11:21 am
As much as I would love to see that, I’m thinking more 11-5ish.
April 22nd, 2017 at 11:37 am
How bout 14-2. After we beat the Patriots and have no losses everyone will jump on the 14 and 2 bandwagon.tampaaaa
April 22nd, 2017 at 11:40 am
Take the fuccing league by storm.Tampaàaaa
April 22nd, 2017 at 11:56 am

Boy ’87…….I’M WITH YOU!!!
We have a decent draft, I can easily see us topping 11 wins.
April 22nd, 2017 at 4:08 pm
I see 9-7 being a challenge unless they get off to a hot start. Hey I’d love to see it, but I’m more of a low expectations and then I can be happy when those expectations are exceeded type of person.
The biggest issue I see with any record, even a 9-7 record, is the complete lack of depth all over this team. If you D Jax goes down with an injury, which you’d have to assume will happen based on his history, then the Bucs are in an even worse situation than they were last year as I thought last year Russell Shepard was the 2nd best WR on the team. If you lose either VH3 or Grimes to injury, there is zero depth behind them. The Bucs are still missing a starting linebacker and the safeties are terrible. I think the D-line and the O-line are in better shape than most people assume and even with a team with little depth if you have a stud QB then you can do amazing things (look at Luck with some awful teams early on).
Lack of depth is really the biggest concern to me – but if you have a home run draft and maybe pick-up a FA or two that has yet to get cut then that can help, then maybe it won’t be a concern.
April 22nd, 2017 at 5:14 pm
Well I don’t know about 13-3, but I am darn sure done with mediocrity or worse. I expect big things this year. Barring a plethora of injuries, no excuses. Playoffs or this season was a complete waste of time.
April 22nd, 2017 at 7:14 pm
Well, I predicted 6-7 last year and it seemed we were going there until that D finally clicked at the end and won some games I thought we’d lose. We have a real kicker now, a real WR2 (hopefully remains healthy), Center should be fixed with Marpet….RB still a ? (sign Peterson regardless of the draft).
I think 9-10 wins is very likely.
April 23rd, 2017 at 4:13 am
He did say, “sneakily good the last two years” when referring to our defense which we know is not true for 1/2, maybe 3/4 of that time…
April 23rd, 2017 at 11:12 am
Right now, every fan should be thinking that.
April 23rd, 2017 at 12:58 pm
Lets keep the NFC south Superbowl appearance streak going, Go bucs all they way.
