“I’m Going To Go With The Bucs”
April 6th, 2017It appears the Bucs now have two friends on the “Good Morning, Football” troupe.
Co-host of the weekday morning NFL Network gabfest, good guy Peter Schrager has always been kind to the Bucs. He now has a kindred spirit in colleague Kay Adams.
Last week, Adams giddily confessed her newfound NFL crush to be the Bucs. Today, Adams (“Don’t ask me about my business, Kay”) cemented her feelings for the Pewter Pirates, though in a more subdued manner, likely having come down off of her three-shot espresso latte buzz.
(Is there a morning show more caffeinated than “Good Morning, Football?” It sometimes makes Regis Philbin seem like he was on Dramamine.)
The “Good Morning, Football” crew was looking at how each NFC South team has overhauled its roster (pre-draft) to prepare for the 2017 season. Adams squarely planted a Bucs flag in the middle of Times Square, careful not to catch the attention of “Woody.”
Adams believes no team in the division has improved itself as much as the Bucs.
“I’m going to go with the Bucs I think here,” said Adams, who was without her porn glasses this morning. “I think I might be all in on the Bucs. They added DeSean Jackson who adds an entirely different element to their offense. … Defensively, last half of the season last year, they were fourth-best in the league. They added to that, right? One of my most underappreciated storylines is Chris Baker. Now he is right next to Gerald McCoy. That is pretty lethal.”
You see! This is why Joe has been writing constantly since the end of last season the defense is not what kept the Bucs out of the playoffs. Once the defense got used to Mike Smith’s traits and learned how to communicate, it turned the corner and was, for the most part, strong.
Imagine how this team could take off if somehow it landed quite likely the final piece of the puzzle, Dalvin Cook?

Joe I thought all the ladies would hate jameis and boycott bucs for decades if he were selected. Where are those posters now!
Get Cook Licht!
April 6th, 2017 at 12:25 pm
Agreed
Get Dalvin!!!!
April 6th, 2017 at 12:26 pm
Lets not get too carried away Joe, it took the defense half the season to “get it”. I agree though, that in many ways it was the offense that failed them.
I can’t get enough of Kay Adams. My wife is starting to grow suspicious!

The horror! 🙂

“You see! This is why Joe has been writing constantly since the end of last season the defense is not what kept the Bucs out of the playoffs.”
Joe, I would mostly agree with that. The defense played much better during the 2nd half of the season. But let’s take a look at those 2 games we lost to the Cowboys and Saints:
That is atrocious, and unacceptable. Improve our defense and our run game / pass blocking, and this team can beat anyone.
It all starts in the trenches, get some damn linemen!

Bucs are announcing a draft party pretty soon or so the frobt office tekls me. With that and schedule release and maybe hard knocks announcement, the summer belongs to the bucs. Let’s get it started.
April 6th, 2017 at 1:09 pm
I just wish they would announce the Hard Knocks deal with the Bucs like SOON!!!
One of my new hires at my work jumped on the bandwagon this year, he was a Dolphin fan (so he claims) for years..
Now he just saw the Licht! (get it?)

Not to complain, but am I having déjà vu ?!😳 Could’ve sworn you already ran this article. No? Anyways, just making sure I’m not losing my mind.
Btw, Kay is the girl Nextdoors who likes football. What’s not to like! Seeing Chris Simms on her morning show the other day reminded me of some not so memorable football. Remember Grudes looking at him like he had 3 heads. All tongue twisted and confused. Smh. Thank god for JW3!
April 6th, 2017 at 1:22 pm
And Kay in the a.m… Not a bad replacement at all for my girl Erin Coscarelli
April 6th, 2017 at 1:27 pm
You had to bring up Erin Coscarelli!!! WOOF! I miss her!
April 6th, 2017 at 1:41 pm
Erin & Kay would make a lovely breakfast sandwich. Yum

You say the defense wasn’t responsible but then point to dak and drew going 55-70 or whatever it was with no interceptions
That’s kinda on the defense.

@BK- No truer words have ever been spoken!!!

At the risk of being struck dead by lightning for daring to blaspheme the messiah, I will simply point out that in those two games, there were 5 interceptions, and two fumbles; two of which resulted in the opponents’ possession at the Bucs’
14 yd line. There was also the most idiotic unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in history for head butting a defensive lineman by the QB with the highest football IQ in history?? That was all on the defense, right?

Alas we’re on the same page Joe. The defense got a little upgraded already. They weren’t the problem towards the end of the season too.
Beef up the O I say. Add a CB on D. Yes I said CB if need be. Cause Grimes is how old again? I keep reading safety this and safety that.
I want a RB first and foremost. RB and WR or OJ, but he ain’t making it 19 either. I can see the Bucs having a very nice selection of “weapons” with that pick though. Excited. Cook or McCaffrey might be there. One of the two I suspect will be there if they want to go that route. Excited.
Protect Jameis on that right side though. Some much to do, so little time.
Excited. Big things might happen THIS season. StPete…ya feelin’ it?
Let’s make some noise for this team. Okay? Be loud from the get go.
April 6th, 2017 at 4:05 pm
tickrdr…all of that head butting WILL pay off in the end. It already has actually.
This is Jameis Winston’s team. Because of incidents like you stated.
Everyone’s going to have to just deal with the INT’s every once and awhile. The kid’s a gamer and a gunslinger. I didn’t say he had the highest IQ those were the NFL guys. Also I guess his teachers in high school and college too.
Stanford is Stanford. As I’m sure you already know.. he got accepted.
I think we’ll see a much improved Jameis Winston this season. He’ll cut down on his mistakes by about 25 to 30 % and that will be a YUGE difference.
See that wasn’t painful at all now was it?

Buc did you say you live in nc?

I would be happy with Dalvin, but also several others, including Christian McCafferey, any of the top three receivers who may fall, and maybe even Jabrill Peppers. it seems like Mike Smith could find the right fit for him, and he returns kicks. I’d definitely like to see a RB top three rounds, I don’t think you can count on a 5th round RB to be “the guy.” Overall, i hoe the Bucs pick the best football player available. We have enough holes, but enough front line guys that we need the sure thing. Dalvin Cook seems to fit that bill.
April 6th, 2017 at 5:42 pm
Eric…I used to live there for 6-7 yrs or so. Back in 2000 to 07.

I got jag co-worker saying the same thing. He’s a Nole and has made it perfectly clear that if we indeed draft Dalvin like I’ve assured him we will he then is jumping ship and becoming a Bucs fan. I told him do out now capacity will soon be over flowing.

I think there should be a warning on these posts as to which “joe” is writing them. In one article one of you comes to his senses and talks about how a 1st round RB is not needed, and then the next article is pimping Dalvin Cook again. So which is it?
April 6th, 2017 at 9:03 pm
Good point unbelievable. I think the defense was a little bit of fools gold last year. I think they played better than they really are coming down the stretch save those two games where they got torched. I think Joe is ignoring some of the shortcomings on defense. We don’t have a legitimate starting safety on the team and the line wasn’t getting nearly enough pressure.

@Buc1987:
Nice response, thanks.
