VIDEO: Dirk Koetter Talks Bucs & Hard Knocks
March 29th, 2017Yes, Joe is going all multimedia today live at the NFC Coaches Breakfast in Phoenix.
Among the many questions lobbed at winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter were a couple about Hard Knocks, the annual HBO reality series that follows one NFL team through training camp.
The Bucs are possible candidates for this year’s edition. Koetter has been through it before, and he shared his thoughts today.
Interesting stuff.
Late in the video, prickly Pete Prisco hits Koetter with a follow up question about whether Hard Knocks can be beneficial to a team, and Koetter agrees with the premise.

I don’t think this means much and is just a coincidence, but the year the Falcons were on Hard Knocks was 2014. Mike Smith and Koetter were fired after that season.

lol, Joeypoppems. If you didn’t think it meant much, you would not have brought it up 😉
As I’ve said before…in previous years, I felt Hard Knocks was a bad idea for this team, but this year I think the timing is right. Even if the players ‘play up’ for the cameras, that just helps them develop some swag…and this team needs swag.
And once the season starts? The cameras are gone.

I know I would have to subscribe to HBO for the first time in probably 15 years.

Multiple owners whose teams are eligible for hard knocks were asked about their their teams on it and they said they wont be. When Glazer was asked he said they believe they have a team that can handle it. I think its looking likely it happens. Im pretty excited for it.

I’ll settle for reading what happened here if the Bucs are featured, rather than give those guys another penny.

@Bonzai
What I mean by not meaning much is I wouldn’t blame Hard Knocks for them getting fired lol. Just an interesting coincidence imo

I’ll find a way to watch HBO if our Bucs are featured. But I’ll not give one dime to HBO or these..self repeating monotonous cable TV stations. They’ve known for years they must change their programming to remain competitive. So what have they done? Offer up more of the same..over and over again.

God i love Koetters obsession with winning.
“The only thing anyone gives a spit about are wins”

@Mike HBO isn’t a cable tv station. And they have some of the best series on television. Curb your enthusiasm, game of thrones, Night of, west world, band of brothers, boardwalk empire, entourage, east bound and down – shall I continue?

If I remember correctly I got a 30-day HBO (not free) on my Amazon on Smart TV. Look into it.

Yep just saw it. You got Amazon you can get HBO.
