NFL analyst dishes on Jameis the Recruiter.
Real cool insight here from a guy Joe respects a lot, Peter Schrager of NFL Network and FOX Sports.
Schrager, as you well know, co-hosts “Good Morning, Football” on NFL Network. He is also a sideline reporter for FOX Sports NFL broadcasts. He gets insight into things very few folks do from private production meetings weekly with NFL coaches and players, plus sideline access.
There has been much talk about how a wild card for the quest of Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht to lure free agents is America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.
Well, the hype of Jameis as a recruiter is legit, said Schrager.
In Indianapolis, Schrager shared scenes he witnessed of how popular Jameis is with his NFL brethren players, even after only his second season in the NFL.
“Jameis is one of the more well-liked players around the league,” Schrager said. “His charisma is contagious. These guys, before the game I am on the field if I am doing sidelines for FOX. Everyone wants to shake Jameis’ hand. He is one of those guys that just lights up a room and players around the league recognize him. He’s a leader. He’s a young leader.”
And after it was reported that Jameis had a “rapport” with free agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson and that was an in for the Bucs, only to find out Jameis only met Jackson once, don’t be fooled, Schrager said.
“So, DeSean Jackson, they only met one time,” Schrager said. “It doesn’t matter. DeSean Jackson knows. He respects him. Trust me: Jameis respects DeSean Jackson. That would be a cool mix if it happens.”
What is the saying, “Real recognize real?”
Joe has seen how opposing players go out of their way to reach out to Jameis after games. Joe’s seen that with Tony Romo and Drew Brees, as well.
Pretty neat stuff from Schrager.

I think this guy is the biggest Bucs/Jameis fan in all of national media. He’s fun to listen to just because of that!!

I really want Torrey Smith now that he’s been released.
I have a funny feeling that he is going to turn back into a stud when he gets into a better offensive situation. Research him if u think that’s silly of me to want him… He’s highly motivated.
I feel just like his twitter says, ‘Don’t be surprised when I’m back on track next year.’

I want Djax mainly because Fameis has endorsed Djax. If Fameis wants him I want him. Real does recognize real. I recall after skull dragging his child hood fav team the eagles his rookie season. After the game was over he was in the middle of the field surrounded by five or six eagles taking turns to shake his hand. Whatever it is with him it is very contagious. I was smitten the first time I saw Fameis on a bspn highschool QB challenge that he won prior to joining FSU. To my delight during the competition they indicated he had committed to FSU. I knew then another National title would soon be coming. Needless to say it did.

Peter Schrager even has a segment on GMF where his Ridding for Mike Glennon of all people. Schrager thinks Glennon will get 13 to 15 Mill a year from Either the Jets or the Bears. Its gonna be an interesting in free agency.

Sign DJAX, Campbell (DT instead of DE), Farley and sign VJAX for 1 or 2 years for depth & slot work.
Draft Howard, Obi, Running back, the other Texas A&M wideout not Noil but the Evans clone & outside linebacker.

Bring in desean Jackson and sign him to a 4 year deal. Bring in Brandon Williams and sign him to a 5 year deal. Bring in micah Hyde and sign him to a 3 or 4 year deal. First round draft pick you do anything you can to get Dalvin Cook. Under the radar move would be the bucs pouncing on the chance to sign josh Gordon once the NFL reinstated him. 2nd round pick you get offensive tackle chad wheeler from USC and do whatever else you want with the draft cause holes are filled with this assessment. Can you smeeeellll a lah lah lah what the bucs, are cookin!!!! 😁

Get Cook for RB, that’s a combo that just can’t fail like at FSU, it got a National Title and will get the Buc’s a SB win. Then just another WR to take the heat off M. Evans and we got a SB team in place…..
