Don’t get the title ‘Laughing at the Falcons’. They were one of only 2 teams to make it to the Big Dance; 30 other teams failed to get there. The way they lost wasn’t pretty to be sure, but I’m not buying in to some of these opinions like ‘Matty Ice choked’ and ‘The Falcons D Melted Down’. Putting up 28 pts on the Patriots defense in the 1st half was pretty impressive I thought … 0 pts in the 2nd half not so much. Falcons defense was on the field for 99 snaps, similar to the Bucs defense when we played the Raiders. As I remember, by the 4th qtr our D had nothing left in the tank either. Personally think that the Bucs could learn a lot from that particular game in terms of the value of balance between offense & defense, as well as the value of quality depth in terms of key rotational positions.

@DefenseRules its simple bro, they successfully executed the biggest choke job in the 51 year history of the superbowl.
I’m still laughing at them.

Blake_Bucsfan … “I’m still laughing at them.” Whatever floats your boat Blake. I’ve got a hunch that Falcons will learn from that and re-make their defense with several big-time acquisitions as well as focus on defense in the draft. I’m sure that’d bode really well for our Bucs winning the NFC South next year.

I do feel for the Falcons being a Bucs fan. I don’t think they will get back to the superbowl next yr or..the yr after, They have been there what? 2 or 3 times and lost every time. That 2nd half meltdown was a bummer for them. Already they are undergoing coaching changes. Just hope we get there before they do again.
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Bucs need one more mean A.. defensive end to bring the heat next year.

D.R.
We are on exactly the same page. If there was any choking it wasn’t Ryan or the Falcon’s D which as you pointed out was totally gassed by that 4th Q.
It was Shanahan’s lame brain call to attempt a dangerous pass on 3 and 1 leading 28-12 instead of just running the damn ball. Set up the game changing turnover.
So the Brady bunch has had two SB’s gifted to them…Carrolls moronic call with two plays and the time to get it over the goal line in the Seattle giveaway and now the Shanahan giveaway.
Sometimes you win a game…sometimes the other team simply loses it…the Patriots now have two SB’s they did not win as much as the other teams gave them the game.
