After all that refusal to say the “P” word when the Bucs were in the hunt, America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, sang a different tune today in the bowels of the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway.
Jameis was calm and cool after today’s victory that thrust the Bucs to their first winning record, 9-7, since mighty Josh Freeman was slinging the rock to Mike Williams and Kellen Winslow, and handing to rookie phenom LeGarrette Blount.
Asked right away about the meaning of today’s win, Jameis dropped that “P” word.
“It just always feels good to end the year on top,” Jameis said. “You know, so that’s important. We want to make the playoffs and that’s going to be our normal, you know, pretty soon. But we played a great year, had a great year.”
Joe saw that as Jameis, who is a very calculated speaker, sending a message to his teammates and to fans.
A new bar has been set this season. There is no turning back.
