United Behind Dirk Koetter
December 28th, 2016Support for Dirk Koetter among Bucs fans is overwhelming.
The head coach just lost two games in a row and benched a wildly popular running back, yet the results of Joe’s Dirk Koetter Confidence Poll are unwavering.
Joe’s 24-hour polling data is right here. The poll ended yesterday afternoon.
Simply stated, 94 percent of the 2,000+ fans voting said they are either confident (31%), very confident (40%) or totally confident (23%) in the head coach. The remaining 6 percent are down on Dirk.
What incredible unity in the fan base during a highly-emotional time.
Koetter is surely the most popular head coach since Chucky patrolled the halls of One Buc Palace prior to the December collapse of 2008.
From the hire of Mike Smith and believing in joint training camp practices, to candid communication with fans through media and operating very differently from Lovie Smith, Tampa Bay fans have responded to Koetter with open arms.
Team Glazer should savor its New Year’s champagne Sunday.

Captain Dirk has righted the ship.

I don’t know if fans agree with all his decisions he made, including benching Doug, not using timeouts in Rams game, or going turtle a few times including the Raiders game in overtime or kicking an onside kick with two minutes left and all your timeouts against the Saints, but he is in his first year and you can see more potential than we have had in a few years. Just like he challenges his team I believe he will reflect on the year, film study of himself, evaluate and challenge himself. Once again, he is/was a rookie head coach that had the pressure of replacing the man who hired him.

Lets just not run him out of town if he has a rough year next year. Otherwise, same ol’ Bucs.

Gotta Love Dirk Diggler!

He’s got us on the right track, I love how he said we need more weapons around Winston. Glad he sees that.
December 28th, 2016 at 9:05 am
Well said Rrsrq!
Nobody is going to like everything. Heck, I don’t! We are trending in the right direction though and I, for the first time in a while, am seriously optimistic.

Bright future indeed. He will also improve as a head coach along with player development and roster improvement.

He has carried us this far with a very young team, lots of injuries, and some very emotional losses. But we have won some very big games already this year. Keep the coaches, keep the players, and let’s go acquire more talent in the offseason. Most excitement I have had as a buc fan in a long time. Watching young talent be coached up by good coaches. GO BUCS

The worst we can finish is 8-8 with a very tough schedule! We look to be going in the right direction even with the massive amount of injuries we’ve had this year. Why wouldn’t you support the head coach?
December 28th, 2016 at 10:11 am
This is why I say if the Glazers fire him, I’m done.
They might, if they had made a winning season one of the conditions and we don’t win the next game. You just never know with the Glazer boys.
I want stability, and we finally have a staff that is worthy of it.

Let me just say this…I hope someone at NFL headquarters screws up for a change and gives us an easy schedule instead of the Falcons next year…had we an easier schedule, we’d be winning the division this year, so imagine what we can do next year.
And no, I’m not saying I want a simple schedule…I just want one that is made to make us fail. An average schedule. A fair one.
For a change.

I hope the Glazer boys don’t see that the Steelers might replace their coach and want him here as HC.
December 28th, 2016 at 10:35 am
We’ll get ’em next year! LOL! The “confident” Buc fans’ mantra of the past 10 years.
December 28th, 2016 at 10:36 am
Bonzai..the teams we play are up..we got NE, GB, Vikings, and I can’t remember the rest..it’s up on the other website..
December 28th, 2016 at 10:55 am
Kuechly is not playing Sunday.
December 28th, 2016 at 10:58 am
@LifeOfABucFan
That actually doesn’t look too bad. A couple tough teams, the rest average.
December 28th, 2016 at 11:05 am
Next season we have the AFC East, NFC North, our 6 regular conference games and the Rams or Arizona, the Redskins or the Giants depends on Sunday outcome. If the Bucs finish in second place, they’ll face the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals. If they finish third, they’ll play Washington and the Los Angeles Rams. More likely we play the Giants and Arizona, NFC North, AFC East and Atlanta, New Orleans, Carolina twice.

@shadowman…..lol….that’s a classic…..lol
@rrsrq…..well said…I 100% agree….I lost my mind when he tried the onside kick….im still pissed because we had just stopped them and made them punt, hump had a good return and we cashed in a TD….then he gave up on the defense…..he has to do a better job with his situational football…and his play calling….and use better personnel….with that said, I have no choice but to have confidence in him…..I don’t want to see another hc, another scheme which will only create more excuses…..he has to end this season on a high note….9-7…..GO BUCS!!!!
December 28th, 2016 at 11:34 am
I for one voted totally confident and that is because i love his fire and passion and optimism. Also i love the fact he is wiling to do whatever it takes in his view to win and if that is not working he will fix it right away…….. (look at Martin). with the exception of Rah he has given us the best record since Chucky as well. Dirk is our man!
December 28th, 2016 at 11:36 am
He’s a passing coach and we’ve wanted passing with a good QB/WR for a long time here in Tampa. I’m very confident because of course he is gonna have some rookie mistakes and I want to see what happens if Smitty leaves him. CAPTIN DIRK! ARRRRRRRH!!!
December 28th, 2016 at 12:23 pm
like dirk but not sold on him… he’s old school and stuck in his ways almost to a fault just not as bad as lovie was… but i give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that his ho hum play calling is because of limited personnel
