No Respect!
December 15th, 2016Bucs fans are loving the national attention their pewter pirates are getting after a five-game win streak finds the Bucs tied for first place in the NFC South with three games to go.
But there can be a double-edged sword to the new klieg lights shining on the team.
Take the case of BSPN, the self-described leader in sports (if that was truly the case, we, as a republic, would be in grave danger.) While the four-letter is jumping on the Bucs bandwagon, it seems producers there don’t even know who the head coach is.
Twitter user “JC Cornell” recorded a clip of a Bucs segment on the four-letter yesterday and it was clear someone with influence in Bristol is clueless. See for yourself:
This is literally pathetic @espn, you guys can’t even identify our Head Coach. Pathetic #Bucs #TheyWillRespectUsSoon @CommishOnline pic.twitter.com/gIKlBFBe8i

We’ve been so bad for so long that nobody pays any attention to anything we do…when we win, they make all the excuses in the world for the opposing team; and when we lose, we did what everyone expected us to do…The Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the red-headed step child of the NFL…Damned if we do, and Damned if we dont…We’re the ultimate underdog, it’s us against the world…Let’s make believers out of all of the doubters and win the whole dadgum thing….

Even in our single Super Bowl year we were underdogs at Philly and again in San Diego.
No respect.
It is our lot in life.

Really I don’t even care about the national media’s takes on the Bucs. You get better Bucs info from websites just like this one.

This is not surprising and even other NFL teams have gotten into the act. It seems like every game, other teams play games with their injury reports as we have just seen with Jason Garrett and Jerrah Jones. The greatest insult of them all was Jeff Fisher using humor and his “box full of touchdowns” to motivate his team against the Bucs. I still don’t understand the joke. It worked for him then, but who’s laughing now, Jeff?

From John Mckay to our first win in New Orleans. Then came 97′ when “WE BELIEVE” originated (which I still have my sign given to me at The old Sombrero) to Heart break in the NFC championship game via “The Bert Emanuel rule” No one believed in us. Then we “shut the vet down” and Celebrated like Animals on Bayshore!! No one still believed. This season just feels magical and I know many have said this before but why not us? 1-0 this week!! 1-0…Beat DALLAS then we will see how far this ride will go…I have a feeling we are in for a long ride!! GO BUCS!!

eve winning super bowl got us no respect. only champ not to get invited to white house. just saying.
December 15th, 2016 at 7:29 am
Keep disrespecting us! It’s only gives us more of a chip on our shoulders. Played sports my entire life. Bulletin board material works!
December 15th, 2016 at 7:54 am
Some things never change. So, the dimwitted pro football talking heads keep insulting us as fans of the Clown Princes of the NFL. Let them. We’ll just continue to support our winner. After all, ain’t that the Amerikan way? Snort! GO MIGHTY BUCS!!
December 15th, 2016 at 7:57 am
It really does feel like the start of something, doesn’t it? I big part of me feels like this team will not ultimately contend, but will turn the corner and become a dominant force in 2017 – sort of like the end of Dungy’s first season and transition into second.
BUT, a part of me feels like this team grew up before our eyes mid season and is ready to shock the world.

Awesome. What idiots, lol

Respect is earned over an entire season. Bucs are a small market team. And over the years, What little reputation we have, came from a Nasty Defense. Its great to see signs of it emerging again. Beating Dallas on a national TV stage where everybody is rooting for the propaganderized..so called..America’s team, would not only send a message but shock these Cowgirl fans. And..put fans on notice to..watch out for the TB Bucs. God I loathe the Cowgirls!!!!

ESPN is in last place in the NFL’s media coverage…though Jenna’s doing ok, right Joe? 😉
December 15th, 2016 at 11:31 am
Joe I saw that clip live yesterday! No respect I tell ya!
December 15th, 2016 at 11:41 am
There are solid people who work for BSPN who Joe fully respects. The company and the people are two different animals.

Glad you posted about BSPN idiotic mistake yesterday, I saw it too and came close to dropping my lunch when I saw it. Just one more morsel of waste to step around from that sad, sinking channel.

Combining Seinfeld’s George Steinbrenner trying to sing Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker” with Piratic’s very funny post:
You’re a heart breaker / Kobe Faker, Oath Breaker / Won’t you cut my shoes for free.
