“A Little Bit Less Than 100 Percent”
November 8th, 2016The Buccaneers’ “naturally pissed off person” probably isn’t smiling too brightly today.
First, his team hasn’t won a home game and is tied for third place in the NFC South.
Second, he’s not fully healthy.
Of course, Joe’s talking about starting defensive end Robert Ayers, who largely has been invisible in his two games since returning from a serious ankle injury in Week 2. Ayers sat out five weeks and returned against the Raiders.
Last night on the Buccaneers Radio Network, Dirk Koetter said Ayers is “a little bit less than 100 percent. But it’s still good to have him out there.”
Joe’s really bummed out by that news. Ankles can be nasty, especially ones that keep you out five weeks. Those rarely improve while playing through a season.
Bucs fans might not see what Ayers is really made of until next season — if he’s here.
The Bucs don’t have guaranteed money tied up in Ayers next season, when he turns 32 in early September.

I’ll be at RayJay on Sunday, and am tired of watching my team lose at home. I know they will find a way to lose, you know they’ll find a way, and the worst of it is the players know it. And….I’ve watched the Bears come to our stadium over the years and kick our butts. If we don’t win another game this year, win this one. Puh-lease.

He needs more tape. Tape it up and stop making excuses. If the Bucs can’t beat the Bears, they will finish 3-13.

I hope we keep Ayers next year……he has the right attitude and enough skill to be a positive for our defense which will likely have more younger players added.

Greg Auman, Tom Jones, Don Stroud gave Dirk Koetter a C- grade at the halfway point. Thomas Bassinger gives him a D. I give Dirk Koetter a C- also. I give Mike Smith a F, and I give Jason Licht a F.

I gave Doug Martin F !!! I was so happy when we resigned him but sadly I was wrong (again) I guess he’ll do good next year every other year right?

So far Ayers just talks a lot. Not much else. Can do without hearing from this latest Licht charity case.

Someone please tell me what Jason Licht has done in the last 3+ years to improve this anemic pass rush? Start with the greatness known as Michael Johnson!

Another whiff by our genius GM. Big talker and no show on gameday.

Get Alshon Jeffrey, draft Derek Barnett in round 1, safety in round 2 or FA. Him and GMC would straight up dominate the strong side.

Thus far, Ayers is “big hat, no cattle.” One could say Licht shot an “Ayers ball”. Or committed an unforced Ayers…an Ayers in judgement?! The election is making me loopier than usual.
