Licht: Charles Sims Will Return For Final 4
November 28th, 2016While most NFL rosters are battling mounting injuries, the Bucs are getting healthier and healthier.
Look for running back Jacquizz Rodgers to play next Sunday in San Diego, so Rodgers said in the locker room after the game.
And expect fellow RB Charles Sims to return the following week against the Saints. That news came from general manager Jason Licht himself.
Licht broke the happy story shortly before kickoff yesterday on the Buccaneers Radio Network. Sims would be back for the final four games of the season, Licht told Gene Deckerhoff.
Sims has been practicing as part of his injured reserve/designated for return window, following an early-season knee injury.
Obviously, Sims will have rust to shake off. But the thought of Sims, Martin and Rodgers available offers a lot of comfort for a Bucs team in the playoff hunt — and for a Bucs team that will need to score a lot of points in order to beat the Saints twice.

And we can put sims as a receiver too.
SB here we come…….
November 28th, 2016 at 10:40 am
He is valuable because he is able to play wr if needed.

Please don’t get ahead of yourself…

And we get healthier, getting weapons on back. Finding players that filled in well while we healed. Kept hearing announcers talking about the hurting RB for the Seahags, talking about starting three rookies on offensive line, not trying to hear that.

He can take a WR spot. Bucs are better off with Rodgers/Barber backing up Doug.
November 28th, 2016 at 11:02 am
Besides ME, Sheppard and Brate and Martin and Humphries and Simms are the weapons and are all getting healthier.
Plus the Oline is getting healthier.
…And the defense is getting better and better.
They keep up a pass rush like that, skies the limit.

Joe, I wonder if the Buccs will split him out wide ala proise and bell….and get him touches that way and spread the defense to give them something else to think about………………………………..

Sims Martin Rogers all healthy? Let’s bring back the wing – T!
November 28th, 2016 at 12:11 pm
Simms can take it to the house on any given play. Hurry back Simms!
November 28th, 2016 at 12:30 pm
Simms at WR would be interesting, let’s hope they’ve been preparing him for that role during his recovery.

Great news. Sims got dogged early in the year for not looking very good as the everydown back. But he’s got some big plays in him if you get him a little space.
Quizz showed he is a tough runner and decent pass catcher as well.
This is very good timing that we are getting so many of our talented players back as we are now in position to vie for a potential playoff run.
It wasn’t that long ago that our entire starting Dline (save for run stopper Gholson) was out and we were down to our 4th and 5th RBs.
November 28th, 2016 at 1:45 pm
Martin, Barber, Jizzy, and Sims? What do we do with all of these RB’s now?
November 28th, 2016 at 2:07 pm
Don’t care about Sims except as a pass catcher. I want Quizz back

This playoff talk is ridiculous and exactly what losing teams do. You never hear teams like NE talk about the playoffs. One game at a time. The local media needs to respect that and stop harping on the “P” work. The Bucs would need to finish 10-6 to have a shot. That means they would have had to have gone 7-1 over their final 8 games – 4-1 over the upcoming last 5. That is so improbable.
Joe hypes the playoffs incessantly because this site has become obsessed with achieving clicks for revenue.
The Bucs have to travel across the entire country and play a west coast game against a very good team and offense this week. It’s a classic let down game for the Bucs – come off a big win, get some media attention, get spanked. rinse repeat.
THIS week – not New Orleans or whatever in the future is irrelevant right now, Joe – will determine how good this team is. Go on the road out west and stop San Diego in their stadium and the Bucs are truly on to something. Lay another egg and you can absolutely forget about this team doing anything other than prepping for 2017.

Feel free to let Joe know what else he is supposed to bury his head about and ignore.
Joe isn’t hyping a damned thing but if you don’t believe a team one game out from a division title with five to play is not in a playoff hunt, then what the hell do you think the players are playing for and coaches are coaching for?
Yes, people who run websites for a business do so based in part on traffic, just like a grocery story stays open by selling items most folks will purchase in order to get people to come through the doors and TV networks stay afloat offering content viewers will watch.
Joe never has been, and never will be a charity. Would you expect a store to open yet the manager put a sign on the front door that read, “We are boring and offer nothing of interest. Please shop elsewhere.” Of course you would never see that so don’t be dumb. The only thing that exists that Joe is aware of that chases people away yet stays in business is NPR and they are bankrolled by the feds. Joe does not have those types of connections, sorry.

People forget that Sims can run the ball, as long as he’s not a #1 back. This guy is a true offensive weapon – probably our most versatile weapon. He should be a welcomed addition that will only make us better.

Tony,
If you ever apply to work for my company, please remind me in the interview process how you feel about generating revenue. I’ll have a nice parting gift for you.

Sims will be a huge boost to the offense. He spells Martin effectively and is a legit threat with his hands. Would assume Barber takes a seat and Quizz can give some solid production on a few drives in the game.
November 29th, 2016 at 8:29 am
Sims had a couple of balls bounce off his hands that turned to ints so hoping he gets his hands back and doesn’t tip them to the other team.
That we screen they run to Humphreys would be a good play to use for Sims.
November 29th, 2016 at 10:43 pm
Sims may not be a #1 RB, but he’s one helluva a #2, and a devastating receiver coming out of the backfield.

Damn tony! Be happy that the bucs are in the playoff hunt and things are looking up. Such negativity coming from you constantly
