“I Just Like Watching This Dude Play”
November 14th, 2016How bout that Bucs general manager Jason Licht, plucking special teams studs and competent depth off the street!
Cornerback Josh Robinson is one of those dudes.
Licht signed the 25-year-old, fifth-year player in a hurry back in March after the free agency dinner bell rang. Robinson made 21 starts with the Vikings through his first four seasons there.
In Tampa, Robinson is a lunch-pail warrior type on special teams. With Russell Shepard out for the past couple of games with hip injury, Robinson has been more prominent on fourth down.
He made a couple of special teams tackles yesterday, including one for a three-yard loss on a punt.
In this official Buccaneers video, you can see head coach Dirk Koetter present Robinson with a game ball after the game. Why? “I just like watching this dude play,” Koetter said.

Robinson has been so good at that gunner position this year. I noticed it before but he had a great game yesterday. Nice special teams pick up Jason.

teams seem to get the most out of Free Agency when they are not targeting projected starters or core players. Bring in Free Agents you expect to compete with each other and your draft picks behind the starters and you end up with competent depth, some overachievers, and no Anthony Collins types
Of course to get there, you first need a decent starting 22, and we are still building that
