Doug Martin Gives A Rust Report

Talks rust

Doug Martin had a nonstop, ear-to-ear grin standing at his locker after today’s blowout of the Bears.

It wasn’t the usual look for a guy who just carried 16 times for 33 yards.

But Martin was pumped for a home Bucs victory — and pumped to be back contributing after sitting out since Week 2 with a bad hamstring.

Martin told media, “I got my feet wet .. get some rust off.”

Joe asked Martin about the rust and when he felt it leaving him.

“There were some points in the game where I felt like, you know, ‘I got my old legs back,'” Martin said. “And it will come back with more practice. I just did like a little scout team last week. You know, practicing more, I’ll be just fine.”

How awesome is it for Martin to get his “rust” game out of the way and the Bucs still won.

Now Martin can jump into this week confidently as the Bucs prepare for their trip to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, was gushing after the game about the return of No. 22. It really seemed like Martin’s presence was a confidence boost for him.

The run game was lackluster at best; clearly a sign of the injured and mediocre O-Line game…

Hats off to Doug. Alot of fans on this site have been hard on him being hurt. Glad hes getting back healthy. Even if the yardage totals werent great… It still served a purpose and scored points.

Screens and more screens to open the running lanes

Surprised he made it through healthy. Not bad for a part time player

He ran terrible just as he did healthy at start of season. he is back to shuffling feet instead of hitting hole with power. I hope he improves but think he was more determined and prepared last year (contract year).

Wasted win!!! If Mr. Evans wanted to protest stay in the tunnel. When the National Anthem is done come out alone. Oh, Fly Overs and military color guards must stop at professional sporting events. Wasted tax pay dollars on spoiled athletes.

  8. McBuc Says:

Chef, that’s not for the Athletes it’s for the fans. I agree to stop, sine the mil pays the NFL to do the military days. Also, Mike Evans has every right to protest, all those vets put their lives on the line for all our rights, not ones you pick and choose. Hopefully Mike voted, Kap lost credibility sitting out the election.
