“I Don’t Care About No Blocking”
November 2nd, 2016It’s always fun to hear what’s being said on the football field, especially when it comes from the mouth of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.
Mike Evans was “mic’d up” against the Raiders and Buccaneers.com compiled a highlight reel. There was nothing too exciting in there, but Joe enjoyed an exchange between Evans and Jameis.
During the scramble against Oakland in which Jameis was drilled in the head for a 15-yard penalty, Mike Evans could have easily blocked the guy that hit Jameis. But Evans didn’t block, and he earnestly apologized to Jameis on the sidelines.
Jameis’ response? “I just need you to catch. I don’t care about no blocking,” he said.
Joe thought both young Bucs displayed the right mentality.

Jameis can run and the lb took the brunt of that hit. Now the hit ME took in the back of the head was cause for and ejection of Joseph the safety as it was his second of the day but that’s none of my business though.

That no call on Evans was bull. He got hit in the head clear as day. It’s beyong obvious that Evans isn’t going to get any calls from the zebra’s but hey, at least he’s not pulling a crybaby Cam fit out there.

Wrong scramble I was talking about when he took off for the end zone and met a lb at the 4 yard line. Still not sure why Koetter does want jameis to run. The boy can move.

That would have been the perfect time to stay on the ground motionless. A late flag is just as good.

DB55, you suggest “stay on the ground motionless”. Sounds good, but would that necessitate a concussion protocol, and if so, how many plays would Jameis miss?

Thanks, Bryan. Now, same question about ME13. Would he miss plays?

Lets bring norv turner to help out koetter the clown
We need an experienced nfl coach to help jameis progression instead of kotters 2 college pom poms- bark and monk

Kobe
Yes, and Kniles Davis that kid can ball.
November 2nd, 2016 at 12:20 pm
We need more structure and checks and balances
There was 2 guys in control of jameis development last year. Both lovie and dirk shared their views and bounced ideas with each other concerning jaboo
This year koetter is all by himself doing 2 or more jobs all by himself

NFL needs to suspend or reprimand the official who missed the helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless Mike Evans. The rule is clearly defined and that was a clear penalty. Not open to interpretation, a helmet to helmet to a defenseless receiver is an automatic personal foul.
Shame on that official responsible for not throwing the flag. I hope that player gets a huge fine.

Kobe you left out Bajakian who is supposed to be the QB coach. Believe he was a Lovie hire.
November 2nd, 2016 at 3:37 pm
kobe bajakian’s only Nfl experience is with Lovie as a quality control coach. He did coach at Tennessee with some success. At any rate Jameis is not progressing as much as much as expected and realignment of coaching duties might be in order. I say let Montgen should get the nod.Joe gives a lot of credit to montgen for straightening out Evans.Igive a lot credit to Evans for
for working out all summer with Shepard and an nfl backup whose name I don’t recall. So Evans came in in shape and was ready to go.
Appears Joe was right on Doug martin and ASJ though, two players whose
type of skillset Jameis needs badly right now.
