This should be a major turn-the-corner victory for the Buccaneers franchise. It could be a game we’re talking about for ages, the day the losing was eradicated from the locker room after a four-year stench.
Against a 7-2, dominant-at-home Chiefs team, your Buccaneers were the better squad today through 35 minutes and they were the better team after 60 minutes.
What a monumental, complete-game victory.
The Bucs stood toe-to-toe against an efficient and physical playoff team and beat them at their own game — in their own house. Joe was so damn glad to witness it in person.
America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, had plenty of big moments, and he got away with most of his mistakes. Roberto Aguayo manned up and looked like a professional kicker. El Asesino! Alterraun Verner was pulled from the weeds after an early injury to Brent Grimes, and Verner stepped up just enough.
The Bucs’ defense bent but didn’t break. They were very Chiefs-like, highlighted by a red-zone pick of Alex Smith by Chris Conte. Everyone’s favorite Pro Bowler, Gerald McCoy, tipped the pass that set up Conte’s huge play.
Cecil Shorts even arrived with five catches for 62 yards.

This is a big win. The chiefs were 7-2 but probably the worst ever 7-2 team. Their best ateibute is finding ways to win in any situation. And we did, what they do best, to them. A very satisfying victory. The bucs haven’t won these type of close games often, especially not against a division leading team. I wont call this a cornerstone game yet, we have to continue this winning trend in order to do that. I do hope it does become that though.
Huge shout out to Aguayo who WON this game for us. Any miss kicks and we lose. Phenomenal job by the rookie. Most definitely a game ball goes to that young man.

Now that we’re starting to get players healthy…imagine Quizz and Doug..and Sims!!! We’re going to have some offensive weapons. And we’re slowly building some depth on our OL.
I hope we play well down the stretch and I”ve got a feeling it will have a lot to do with how healthy we remain. Right now we’re in a rare everybody is starting streak.
