Aguayo Becoming Accurate?

November 13th, 2016
Turned the corner?

Turned the corner?

Lost in the glow of a Bucs home win — see what happens when there is a supermoon? — is the sudden rise out of a player Bucs fans couldn’t wait to run out of town.

While the jury is still out whether this player has become a steady NFLer, Bucs kicker Roberto Aguayo hit on both of his field goal attempts today. He made all his extra points, too.

In fact, dating back to the win over the futile 49ers, Aguayo has booted five of his last six field goal attempts… through the uprights, that is.

Last week on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Bucs coach Dirk Koetter stated Aguayo has improved in practice, Koetter just needed to see Aguayo transfer his practice success into game accuracy.

Has Aguayo turned his rookie curve?

I thought he kicked with more confidence today, whatever worked keep it up, hopefully it carries over . I hope the entire team plays with the same passion for the rest of the season.

  2. cmurda Says:

I had to move to another topic. The Mike Evans sitting during Anthem pained me.

Ok, so on to Aguayo. We need to calm down a little Joe. He hit the kicks that any kicker should hit. Hey, I’m happy to see it and have nothing to complain about Aguayo’s way but, he didn’t have any impressively long kicks attempts. His longest field goal of 30 yards today is less than an extra point. In summary, good day for Aguayo but the jury is still out.

  3. Chris Says:

99 % of those people will never respond to another JoeBuc fan thread. Well, unless has to do with sitting during the anthem

  4. SB with Jameis Says:

F This……..Jameis hit 10 different receivers today for 23 completions of which only 4 belonged to ME13. STOP with all the “We need someone opposite ME13 to win” Just Stop it.
If the Defense shows up……Even when the OL pretty much stunk , we Still can win! Defense!! Defense!!

  5. DallasBuc Says:

He makes a few routine kicks and suddenly everyone is suggesting that taking the human point shaver in the 2nd was possibly a good idea.
Come on back to earth people

  6. Chris Says:

SB, Jameis looked great. Defense looked great, everyone healthy for the first time since Atlanta

  7. SB with Jameis Says:

Yeah Chris, JW looked good/ great. He played his arse off. Defense played their arse off. and ST played their arse off. This was a complete win whether it was a 2 and 6 team or not. This TEAM played like a unit today. Do that always and you win more often than not.

  8. SB with Jameis Says:

Of course the Nellys will still come out Im sure.

@Dallas, nobody here suggesting he was worth a RD 2 pick. But regardless we are stuck with him and we need him to perform. He looked confident today. The ball had greater power and he looked like he stopped aiming

    ……….
Actually I believe Joe is celebrating the Positive of our most troubled Draft pick. Sorry if it is SO hard for you to celebrate in a win. I know how hard it is to live in Texas and be positive about Anything except deportation

  11. SB with Jameis Says:

Actually that is why I moved to Montana πŸ™‚

  12. DallasBuc Says:

SB- What are the happy aspects of deportation in Texas? How does wherever it is that I actually live have to do with the fact that our ego-in-chief GM wasted a 2nd round draft kick on a head case keeker that can’t keeks de ball?

  13. SB with Jameis Says:

Dallas I have been here for almost 5 years. You are a ‘negative Nelly” I don’t care, that is your choice. Just don’t expect rational fans to be ………well ….rational to you.

  14. DallasBuc Says:

SB- use a lot of air quotes in normal conversations? You’re that guy.
So it’s the rational fans that cannot see negative aspects of a 4-5 football team that just beat up on a lousy 2-6 Cutler team? I’m so irrational.

  15. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo would never live in Montana…….they take out their 44s and shoot male table dancers there…..Pablo would love to attach a line to his eloongated arc and catch some Montana trout…..yumm…..fish Tacos”

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Aguayo Becoming Accurate

Just don’t tell him that….he needs to keep working on it.

  17. SB with Jameis Says:

Dallas…….It would not matter to you if we won 78 to 0 or lost 0 to 78. The Bucs would still suck.
Do you get it now. That is how we real Bucs fans see you.

  18. SB with Jameis Says:

    LOL Tbbf.!!!! Literal lol!.

  19. SB with Jameis Says:

Hey Pablo, maybe Aquayo is learning how to harness his ‘elongated arc’

  20. SB with Jameis Says:

The Bucs Defense had 5 Fricking turnovers
JW3 became the YOUNGEST QB Ever to throw for 40 TDs
JW became the First Bucs QB ever to complete to 10 diff receivers………………..SO many positives to take from this game
    ……………..
Then Aholes like you come in with………So it’s the rational fans that cannot see negative aspects of a 4-5 football team that just beat up on a lousy 2-6 Cutler team?
    ………….
Funny thing is you don’t get why your opinion is so undervalued

  21. Rando Says:

I still think this kid will have a HOF type career.

  22. Joe Says:

    the human point shaver

    AWESOME handle! LOL πŸ™‚

  23. DelawareBucsfan Says:

I just think he needed a little time to adjust. He will be a good kicker. He’s coming into his own. It feels great when we win.

  24. Chef Says:

Wasted win!!! If Mr. Evans wanted to protest stay in the tunnel. When the National Anthem is done come out alone. Oh, Fly Overs and military color guards must stop at professional sporting events. Wasted tax pay dollars on spoiled athletes.

  25. CloGreen Says:

It is Evans right let him enjoy it. Thats the point of rhis country is it not? Bucs looked great. Just like someone above said already, they need to keep playing with the same passion. Aguayo still sucks i dont care what you say Joe! Im still ready to run him out of town. Oh by the way, yall see Conor kick that 54 yarder with no problem for Chicago? Aguayo wouldnt have come close. Wasted pick! Glad to have a little momentum back on our side going into KC than back home against Seattle! If we play the way we did today look out NFC Soutb cause its still anyones division! Go Bucs!!

  26. Rod Munch Says:

Rookie kickers almost always have bad rookie years, and they get much better in year two. He still might have some struggles this year, but he looked much better for at least today. The kid was drafted in the 2nd round for a reason – and it’s not like the Bucs were the only team to have him rated that high. He will be fine long term and if he turns into the 10-15 year player the Bucs were expecting all the naysayers saying cut him after week 3 will look like absolute morons.

But he has to have that career first… I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

  27. JJBucFan Says:

6 missed extra points yesterday- None of them from Aguayo. This is happening all over the NFL. Easy kicks being missed as well. Look at the statistics before you bag on a rookie kicker. Aguayo looking like a HOFer compared to most of our recent 2nd and 3rd round picks, LOL!!

BTW,Remember when we took Gaines Adams instead of Adrian Peterson in the first round? Man oh man, it still hurts to say that out loud,LOL.
