Nobody compares to Joe when it comes to celebrating the virtues of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

However, what Jameis did after halftime today was thoroughly unacceptable.

Through 23 NFL starts, this sewage can’t be peddled to Bucs fans any longer, certainly not at home.

Jameis didn’t look like a franchise quarterback or a first-round pick. Maybe he looked like Mike Glennon. Maybe.

Jameis had seven drives after halftime and completed just six passes on 19 attempts, plus a two-point conversion.

Six completions in seven drives with so much at stake against a below average Raiders defense? Unacceptable.

Yes, Jameis is weapons-challenged. That’s a front-office issue and bad luck. But he’s also missing open targets, and he certainly doesn’t look like a spiritual leader out there. The fire in Jameis isn’t outwardly roaring like it used to be.

Joe’s going to speculate that Jameis might be suffering a little burnout after pushing himself so hard for so long. There is such a thing as overworking yourself.

The end result was bad football from the team leader — and the 16th home loss in the last 19 tries.

Joe wasn’t OK with the product on the field after halftime, and Joe doesn’t expect any Bucs fan is.

Man you missed toooooooooo many Jameis.

  2. Ray Rice Says:

Raiders gave you the game time after time and you kept missing open WR’s. Not a good look Jameis.

  3. stpetebucsfan Says:

#3 mirrors the entire team right now. Just too inconsistent. ME did not have a gfeat day and where was our vaunted OL. They were Quizz in the backfield half the time.

DB played mediocre…Kwon was getting moved out…the ENTIRE team needs to find some consistency.

They re young and I suspect this is what we’re going t oget Inconsisistency.

  4. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I’m hardly ever negative at all..no one will find a post I made that’s anti-Buc anything..

But seeing Evans get tripled covered and no other weapons for Jameis has to be a big reason for his frustration..

The deadline is Tuesday..Jason, please get someone here ASAP for Jameis…tell the Glasers to pull out the checkbook…it really has to be done..

  5. NewTampaChris Says:

I am so tired of 10 years of lousy football.

  6. LifeOfABucFan Says:

and I don’t want to hear there’s no one good out there..look at Jacquiz, like Joe calls these good players, refurbished…

There’s a gold piece among the rocks out there…find it Jason!!

  7. Mike Seven Says:

#3 for the Bucs is not a starting QB in this league he was a standout in collage in a slower moving game, Lovie Smith really screwed the Bucs with this pick there were 2-or 3 standouts drafted in the 1 st round one off them Amari Cooper today showed what a 1st rounder should look like, Jamies was slow at combine and has gotten slower since taking his huge checks from Bucs ,All the talk and raw raw out of his mouth peice is BS to cover fact he lacks true NFL talent, The sooner the BUCS understand they have a bust the sooner the BUCS can move forward , his salary and cap handicap the BUCS ,Dirk Koetter is not stupid he knows this , Last year his awkward throw bought him some yards , this year he was exposed and the league will only adjust more and more and by years end the full bust will show it self. I am not sure but I think Dirk already thinking about how make some kind of change .

  8. MadMax Says:

Burnout. ok. Maybe? It is just his 2nd year so I’ll try to reel it in a little. But he better get on whatever it is he needs to fix it or we need to move on! Fk this kind of crap! Im sick of it.

I completely did NOT expect to see him regressing as much as he has so far this year.

THIS IS A BUNCH OF BS JAMEIS!!!!! WTF MAN!!!!!!!

  9. Ben Says:

yep…As most nfl insiders thought, the bucs chose the wrong qb with their 1st pick in the draft. You also have to wonder about 2 high draft picks given for a kicker.

  10. EA Says:

This article is spot on, agree 100%.

  11. University of Seffner Says:

Jameis has pulled off good games before. Just look back at the Falcons, and Eagles games in the Regular Season last year. This season he’s been good against the Falcons, Rams, and 49ers games. Jameis is young, and the older he gets, the better he’ll get.

  12. Silent_Partner Says:

If Jim Harbaugh came back to the NFL to coach them, the Raiders would be the AFC shoe in for the Super Bowl. That’s how good their roster is. Jack Del Rio is as big of a moron as Koetter. I thought I was going to have a stroke watching all the bad coaching in that game. Tell me anywhere that the Bucs are better than them besides LB. I’ll wait, yet you had the game won because your QB gave you the lead with 3 minutes left throwing to Mike Evans and a whole bunch of other ordinary people, literally no RB after your scrap heap guy got hurt, and your still bad offensive line. Oh, and the unit that got all the money and picks spent on it in the off-season because this new scheme was supposed to fix everything couldn’t stop a nosebleed. Just gave up 626 yards, but yep, the QB’s fault, lol.

  13. BuccaneEric75 Says:

These posts today are too funny. You guys give up to quick. He’s only 22 years old. You can’t expect a finished product so soon. If Winston is eventually a bust, he will be replaced. I’m not giving up on him so fast. If he has a lot of bad games when he is 24, something might have to happen. Most QBs take time to develop, and they are usually a couple years older when they do come into the league. Don’t give up so fast. We didn’t expect playoffs this season, did we?

  14. Tampa Tony Says:

Players stop following their leaders once the leaders play awful. More performances like today and players will stop following this inaccurate qb

  15. 1999Bucsfan Says:

You guys really are terrible slow. He had a not so great game. He over threw receivers. But he’s still a developing 2nd year QB on a injured, untalented team with a 1st year HC. You guys are quick to bash after a loss. You really are lousy fans. Browns are terrible but they’re fans are better than our so called fans. Smh. I ride with Jameis all the way.

  16. Silent_Partner Says:

Kind of funny that when they run the ball and he even has a little bit of time to throw, he has no accuracy issues as Buc fans call them because they’re dumb. Accuracy is when you are in the pocket, no one is near you, and you air mail passes. Kaepernick is inaccurate because he used to do that when SF was really good. But Buc fans don’t seem to understand the difference between a hurried throw and an inaccurate pass because Buc fans dumb. Winston is on track to get hit like 160 times this year despite being anywhere near the league lead in sacks taken, but yep, it’s because he’s slow getting the ball out and not your awful offensive line, lol. Buc fans, lol.

  17. THETRUTH Says:

Reminds me of freeman years , the team played as freeman di. Accuracy is bad , let’s not sugarcoat it. I like what jamies brings to table but of accuracy doesn’t get better look for more of the same.

I think he actually plays better in hurry up offense and gets more into groove.
But they did put up 24 and defense sucks

  18. BucFan20 Says:

Thanks for letting us know your dumb. After all you are a Buc fan right?

  19. DallasBuc Says:

Mike Clayton Evans dropped half of those incompletions. Let’s stop with the gravity-free talk

  20. LargoBuc Says:

Oh bet you’ve been waiting all year for that one dallas! How many drops did he have?

  21. Poor Glennon Says:

The daily FF league’s are seething at Winston and Evans.Winston is just that bad. Not even a very favourable matchup. Can make him look good.

  22. Pelbuc Says:

JBF, maybe JW is not that good and never will be. He’s Byron Leftwich 2.0. Doesn’t matter what talent at WR, he was overthrowing everyone. He looked unsure all game long. Unfortunately we have a dufus GM that despite all the holes on the roster picks Aguayo. And now we’re seeing the consequences. Also, the defense was atrocious once again and it looks like the rental DC Smith will be gone after this year.

  23. DallasBuc Says:

Which “one” are you referring to?
He had about 10-12 passes thrown his way. Four were caught I think. A few were poorly thrown or well defended. He flat out dropped the rest. Channeling Michael Clayton like he did last year.
Queue the excuses and insults because facts are inconvenient

  24. Warthog Says:

Some bad throws by Winston. To be honest, he probably left about another 120 yards out on the field with those blatant overthrows of open guys.

  25. LargoBuc Says:

Dallas it’s just kinda cheap. You dont say a word when he was balling , you only have something to say when he has a bad game. Comes off as trolling.

  26. Silent_Partner Says:

For smarter Buc fans (and I’m really not sure how many of you there really are out there), I’m going to put hurried throws into context of accuracy. Winston of course you all know gets hit more than any QB in football, and I fail to believe all of you are dumb enough to believe that that just happens because he holds onto the ball too long despite him being nowhere near close to the league leader in taken sacks. However, to put how bad the Buc line was today, which kind of hurries throws, Mack had 10 hurries and 2 sacks on his own, and you only had the ball what, 18:00, lol. But yep, your QB is just an inaccurate fool like Jake Locker or something and is missing wide open receivers, lol. Having 1.5 seconds to get the ball out and 4th string receivers next to 1 real NFL receiving weapon I’m sure also has nothing to do with it.

  27. DallasBuc Says:

Largo- been singing his praises this year for the most part which of course goes unnoticed but when he regresses I’m calling it. Everyone is so damn quick to sugarcoat garbage performances and that is exactly why we can’t win a damn home game and Licht still cashes Glazer checks.
Get off my ass. It’s a waste of attention and effort. Get some perspective and start calling out poor play at all levels of the org, coaches/front office included

  28. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Koetter is to blame IMO. His play calling is questionable at best and he doesn’t understand how to be a head coach and OC. We need a change somewhere. I’m really hoping we go out and get a wr. AlshonJefferies should be available and not too crazy of a price tag . He would be my pick. Torrie Smith is garbage, pass on him. Or contact Miami about Landry. We need help in the worst way at WR. Murphy will help but we still need another guy IMO. Time to trade some picks. Either a 2nd or 3rd would be acceptable for the right guy…*cough*Jeffries*cough*

  29. LakeLandBuc Says:

This team has been SUCKING for 10 years, they are CRAP, accept it and move on.

  30. TampaRob Says:

I’ve been a fan since 1991 and put up with a lot of bad football. I’m done. No more. This is worse than watching Craig Erickson, Casey Weldon, Jeff Carlson, and those guys because JW is a first round pick. Even the coach lost faith in him and can’t trust him in a 2 minute drill at the end of the half. Why should we pay good money to watch– or waste any more of my Sunday afternoons. I’m just done. And, apparently, from the number of Raiders jerseys at the game I’m not the only one. We’re back at the days when Chicago, Green Bay, and Vikings fans would fill the old Sombrero and tickets were given away. Good riddance, Buccos.

  31. Dexter Says:

I think it’s the play calling jameis needs some no huddle to jump start the offense
If we keep blaming jameis then we must not have a defense the last time I check the offense put up 24 points our defense gave up 30 stop the nonsense you people know what up jameis can’t do it all that defense needs fixing if not we are going to have to score 50 points to win head coach and jameis is not on the same page

  32. Bucs Ace Says:

Jameis has backup written all over him

  33. LargoBuc Says:

You aint sang a thing Dallas. If you had any perspective you wouldn’t be hand out bull spit titles to the only player on our offense worth a damn. Look at the big picture bro. And I’ll get off your ass when you stop trolling.

  34. LargoBuc Says:

Munky, we need a receiver, but I think a speed guy would be more beneficial. We dont need another big possesion type guy.

  35. Chris Says:

Don’t hear too much rah rah coming out of Fameis now

  36. KingBuc17 Says:

Alright lets put that mess behind us, thank God it was an AFC team. We should have won that game as the Raiders tried to give it to us. Not many bright spots or positive things to say. We need to stop referring to Jameis as America’s QB, he is not even close to Brady, Wilson, Breese or any championship QB. Forget about wind excuses, Carr didn’t have any trouble with the wind. We should have had about 3-5 touchdowns on wide open WR’s. Shouldn’t have even been close for Aguayo to miss another clutch EP, although kickers around the league are struggling. Horrible game Winston……….

Funny thing we win Thursday and we are 1/2 game out of first…. hilarious. How good is Mariotta looking now… still sick as that is who Koetter really wanted…

We will never get Enunwa now the way he is playing. Shoot. That would have been a speed weapon for us. How do these other teams find all these speed weapons? Crowder, Erickson, Enunwa, Smith…Come on Licht, pull the trigger on a young SPEED WR2. Carr has duo weapons which we saw how hard it was to defend those two…

  37. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

No the fire is being coached out of him. Jameis DON’T get hyped before the game, DON’T run, DON’T dive in the endzone, DON’T scramble take the sack, DON’T just throw to Evans, then why aren’t you throwing to Evans…and on and on…

I wish he would have gone to a better equipped team so he wouldn’t have to deal with these fair weather fans. IF he was better protected and had more weapons he would light it up!
BY THE WAY MARIOTA IS HAVING UPS AND DOWNS TOO…SO MAYBE IT IS A PROCESS YOU THINK….THAT INCLUDES THE KICKER…also.

  38. Stranger Says:

I too feel Koetter is a major part of Winston’s regression. Dude doesn’t even look like a field commander anymore like he did last year. I really don’t know who’s more messed up in the head right now between Winston and Aguayo.

  39. JM Says:

    Trade Jameis for Mariota..
    Nevermind they’ll decline it

  40. evolvingBucfan Says:

posted this on another subject but fits here, lol just like everyone elses comments will too.

Offense is too predictable right now, they’re scared to mix it up and be up tempo, what was that first drive in OT 3 and out ??that was horrible, didn’t see any adjustments that a good team will do (Oakland made them) that 3 and out is where i saw this offense lose hope, you could see it in their face and our defense was beat up and drained was getting picked apart, popbably since being out there most of the 4th qtr and OT. Carr did to us what a surgeon did to Micheal Jacksons face. To me all of our problems are more mental than physical.

That hit to Jamies at the goal line, to me he wasn’t the same after. you could here it, wow.

  41. dkdubbnole Says:

I take it most people on the Mariota bandwagon have only seen the Titans v. Jags game.

When Tennessee played Oakland this year, Mariota was 17-33 for 214 yards with 0 TD’s, 2 INT’s and 1 Lost Fumble.

Those numbers don’t equate to anything better than what Winston did yesterday. And if you get in on the completion % argument, Mariota very rarely throws the ball more than 5-8 yards down the field. He isn’t lighting the world up on 30+ yard passing plays. Both are having growing pains, and I expect they both will have more over the next couple seasons.

  42. America's Commenter Says:

I’m glad to see the Joes have taken off their rose colored glasses and can see Winston for who he is. While the regression surely could be burnout from overworking or mishandling of the player and the play calling from Koetter, it’s really more likely that the NFL Defensive Coordinators have just caught up with Winston’s game.

When teams double-cover Mike Evans, play man on Humphries, and put a Safety on Brate, Winston doesn’t know what to do. Russell Shepard has started to show signs of life, but he has a long way to go before anyone can call him a bona-fide WR2. Winston needs to take his game to the next level in order to be a true franchise QB.

Jason Licht really messed up by not stacking the WR corps with veteran depth. There were plenty of players out there over the spring and summer, along with 3rd and 4th round draft picks that were wasted by trading up for the right to pick a kicker in the 2nd round.

The stains on Licht’s record are starting to pile up. Penn, Zuttah, Revis, Barron, Collins, Johnson, Verner, Carter, Brindza, Sefarian-Jenkins, Sweezy, Aguayo. If Winston doesn’t pan out, Licht’s NFL career could be over.

  43. North Korea's Quarterback Says:

    I agree with America’s Commenter.
