Pro Bowler Mike Evans?
October 16th, 2016Yes, Joe is on a campaign to get the hero of Hobart College, Ali Marpet, into the Pro Bowl played at Orlando in a few months.
Marpet is having a helluva year, but he should not be the lone Pro Bowler representing the Bucs.
Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans is having a top-10 season as the Bucs enter the bye week today. Consider Evans has 32 catches, which is tied for seventh in the NFL, and has 449 yards, also seventh in the NFL. That, friends, is Pro Bowl–worthy consideration.
The numbers reinforce to Joe what a job Bucs offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Todd Monken has done. Monken’s main task when hired was to fix Evans. Not only is Evans a much more focused player this year, which is obvious to anyone, his numbers have jumped as a result.

Mike Evans is performing–on and off the field, and is deserving of Pro Bowl honors, at least so far. Someone, be it VJax, Jameis, Dirk, whoever, maybe even himself…had a little talk and he’s matured a lot since last year. Maybe it was Evans’s old bud Johnny Manziel’s escapades that made him see the correct path. Key is that the Bucs need to draft the VJax replacement this next offseason, and it will be important to Mike Evans to mentor that person.

Evans is running crisp routes and making adjustments on passes.You can credit Montgen for that. But the will to play better comes from Mike Evans.

Hey folks, remember he also became a family man this off season. He says feels more personally responsible.

Lol, yeah because he really sucked last year! SMH! The drops last year were not as problematic as Joe made them out to be. One really bad game exaggerated those numbers. He has been a stud here since day one.

Mike Evans is an unquestionably great player who most fans from other teams know…..he is a fantasy pick. Ali Marpet is practically unknown and will need lots of help to get to the Pro Bowl.

Who the hell cares about Pro Bowls? Just win!!!!!!!

100% agree with yas there Chargedcnh!! Pro Bowl? Come on, man! How about a Superbowl? Or making and winning a playoff game? Or just having a winning season for a change. Ok, maybe that’s asking to much. How bout just finishing 8-8? The average fans could give less than 2 thirds of a Deeyham sandwich about a pro bowl. Let some other team occupy the cellar. Just become winners Bucs!

We need a WR drafted next year. A fast one too.

@TampabaybucFan
The drop count has opened a lot of people eyes this year.Pretty sure it won’t be Evans spending time working on deficiencies this off season.But I do hope he keeps up the conditioning,that has been Huuuuge!
