Koetter’s Notable Parting Words
October 24th, 2016Team cameras recorded a chunk of Dirk Koetter’s postgame locker room speech.
It closed with a message that was a slap-in-the-face reminder of what went wrong after beating Atlanta on opening day.
“Be humble in victory,” Koetter said.
Remember what Demar Dotson told Joe after Tampa Bay was spanked in Arizona; the Bucs got too high on themselves after winning in Atlanta. It seems Koetter believes that happened and wants to be sure that mistake isn’t repeated.
“I think we just put too much into a win,” Dotson said in the desert. “You know, we had a lot of people praising us over the Atlanta game, over one game. And I think maybe that maybe we just had too much praise over one win. It’s just one game. That’s the highs and lows in the NFL. We can get too high over a win, or get too low.
“And I think we got too high over a win. And we got humbled real quick.”
Yes, the Bucs should be humble in victory, especially this week. San Francisco stinks, and the Panthers aren’t much better. There should be no overflow of ego like there was after throttling the Falcons on Sept. 11.
Joe suspects the Bucs learned their lesson.

Step 1 for the Bucs will be to become a team that beats teams it should reasonably beat — crappy teams like SF or a decent team that might be playing with its backup QB. I can handle the occasional butt-whipping by a team like the Cardinals in Arizona but not a home loss to the Rams.
And there are plenty of crappy, beatable teams in this league. Who would have guessed that CAR would be 1-5 or that all the unbeaten teams would be gone by Week 7? ATL looks like a powerhouse, then it loses at home to SD.
One game at a time, boys, and we could have a decent season.

Hopefully they have the 40-7 loss film to look over to remind themselves over what happens when you put too much into 1 win. Don’t expect a win over the Oakland Raiders…

I sure hope they learned their lesson because the last 2 wins came against teams that both have only won 1 game. Next week will ba a real test.
Lets Go Bucs!!!

University of Seffner
Don’t expect a win over the Raiders? Just bite all we true Buc fans.
That’s beyond negative it’s freaking stupid.
I’m growing really really tired of the negativity here. It’s one thing to point out the mistakes after a bad game but you turrds who are here predicting future doom and gloom should just get over your negative selves.
Seriously!!! The opening line has both teams -1. Why would any freaking fan wish to take a pick em game at home after two wins and say DONT EXPECT A WIN. Ok…what we shall expect is for Seffner to come here with yet another negative LOSER post.

What is with you guys? It’s the freaking NFL…you know on any given Sunday!!! Or as the late great Chris Thomas said the No Freaking Logic league.
Only a moron would not realize that the Raiders or ANY team in the NFL could possibly beat us. But only a moron looks at this game as a contest the Bucs do not have a good shot at winning.
Man some of you guys are looking for any excuse in the world to claim the Bucs will probably not win on Sunday. Reality iS that it’s a pick em game and could literally go either way.
I’m a Bucs fan so here is what I say….GO BUCS!!! EFF THE RAIDERS.

Amen StPete..I so agree..
Twitter yesterday I had so many people panicking after Bucs went 0-7..I tweeted out for everyone to RELAX..I also tweeted that Chargers and Chiefs needed to win and we would win too..Boo-Yah! It happened..
I really had no doubt we would win after Jameis and Co. settled down..The Bucs are just a team, like so many great teams, that warm up after awhile and then it’s GO!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!!

That’s right. The Raiders are a high scoring team led by one of the best young qb’s in the league. So the Bucs need to deck them in the mouth and if the Raiders are going to put up points on us, at least make it hurt like hell. Lucky for us the Raiders are kinda similar to the Falcons 🙂
October 24th, 2016 at 11:10 am
@tmax: shove it. Why don’t YOU put on that tRump t-shirt?! @stpete is a true fan who pulls for the team. I’m right there, too! Go Tampa Bay Next Sunday!! The Raiders Owe Us!!

Were not playing the 86 bears.
They have a couple of one point victories, Atlanta beat them.
Tough game but doable for sure.

Raiders are playing great. If our O line plays very good, And we can match their physicality? Yes, we got a good shot at beating them. But we gotta be up..real up for this one. Raiders got some horses.
October 24th, 2016 at 11:35 am
The Raiders have some real receivers, and a big time QB that can hit them. To beat them, we will have to control the clock by running the ball.
October 24th, 2016 at 11:49 am
@realist…the defense has played pretty well vs. teams with no offense and minimum weapons…..cant wait to see what both sides of the ball do vs. teams with winning records….GO BUCS!!!!

Oakland is good but not great..barely beat the saints ,lost to atl, just got by on a bunch of the winnable games and got blow out by the Chiefs. They are extremely beatable. Have you guys forgotten how beat up we have been. Smh
