Fast Half-Start
October 20th, 2016For much of last year when Dirk Koetter was offensive coordinator, and through training camp and preseason, Joe heard the term “fast start” uttered quite often at One Buc Palace.
You don’t hear that much any more. Perhaps because the term has almost become a punch line.
Sunday, if the Bucs start slowly, as has been their habit for much of the 2016 season, don’t freak out. Matt Barrows of the Sacremento Bee explains the 49ers are horrid in the third quarter.
Of their 127 points, only 10 have come in the third quarter. Meanwhile, 14 of their NFL-leading 34 punts have come in the quarter, as have a fumble, an interception and a failed fourth-down attempt.
Another way to look at the issue: The 49ers have trailed badly only once at halftime, 24-3 to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. They led at halftime in one game, were tied in two and trailed by seven points or fewer in two games.
But in most cases, those tight contests became one-sided in the third quarter. Aside from their Week 1 blowout win over the Los Angeles Rams, the 49ers haven’t led in the second half.
This is all good to know. Because the Bucs sure don’t seem to want to adhere to Koetter’s formerly favorite catchphrase.
So in this game, a fast half-start seems to be the order of the day come Sunday.

Fast starts can also come by quick turnovers!!!! Cover college kaepernick’s first read and just wait for him to run!!! Gang tackling will take effect!!!! leave the LB’s to come down and to knock some sense into him!!!! Defense is slowly coming up!!! ( and that is with the usually suspects out or limping around on the field!!!) Motto for this game is, When he runs, make him kneel for good!!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!

While our Bucs’ D has played marginally better over the last couple of games, how surprised will we be if Kap and the ‘9ers figure it out against our “get right Bucs”; just like the Cards, Rams & Paxton Lynch did? …Bucs life!? :/

Man, 9ers haven’t looked good all year. We have to start taking advantage of these favorable match ups. They got problems, we got problems, get scrappy and get the win.

We should play tight man 2 man and dare kaep to throw to tight windows
We dont need to blitz, just tackle him when he comes out
We have to becareful on 3rd and long because that is his best run lanes
We need conte to make the sure tackle
Our 2nd half run defense against carolina was putrid mostly on the sweeps and at the edges. +10 yard chucks to a backup fozzy
We have to trust our corners that kaep cant throw into that coverage because we need our safties to play the run and contain kaep all day

I’d like to see the Bucs wrap Kaepernick up into a pretzel with a poofy afro.
