“One-And-Done”
October 10th, 2016Team Glazer has never fired a head coach after one season, but Buccaneers beat writer Rick Stroud seems to think it could happen.
In fact, Stroud wrote a whole story about it today.
Here’s a snippet from the Tampa Bay Times.
If 1-3 turns into 2-8 or 4-12, Koetter might not have enough sweat equity and professional bandwidth to avoid becoming a one-and-done coach given the Glazer family’s impatience and desire to win.
In fact, you could argue that no head coach’s future is as dependent on the success of his quarterback as Koetter’s.
There’s plenty more via the link above.
So Jameis has three bad games in a row and the ice under Dirk Koetter is thinning? Jiminy Christmas! And why is Stroud using terms like “professional bandwith?” What ever happened to the real world?
This kind of talk has Joe yearning for a pitcher of JoeBucsFan Jason Light Ale, Tampa Bay’s newest craft beer.
Can everyone just calm down?
Team Glazer isn’t brain dead. Team Glazer was smart enough to let Raheem Morris recover from a 1-12 start to the 2009 season. The result was the team going on a 16-9 run. Yes, the Bucs went 16-9 before the Raheem regime came crashing down.
Team Glazer has never had a one-and-done coach. No logical observer entered this season thinking the Bucs were marching to the division title, or cruising to a Wild Card berth, not with a first-time head coach and a radically different defensive scheme.
America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, is a talented workaholic in good hands with Koetter and quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian. Joe is confident that combination will lead to Jameis having a good season.
October 10th, 2016 at 8:06 am
This is an asinine take and they’re clearly being sensational. Not sure if it’s Stroud personally grasping at straws or if he’s being directed to by management who are desperate for viewership, but this is way over the top.
October 10th, 2016 at 8:11 am
Stroud has been subtly trying to light the fire under Koetter’s seat for some time now. Not sure if he is trying to start a conversation, or if he is part of the Lovie Smith crowd.
October 10th, 2016 at 8:17 am
this is ridiculous.
October 10th, 2016 at 8:28 am
Stroud is no doubt part of the Tampa2 mafia!! who has question why coach my scheme was let go from the start!!! If you listened to his former show, he always had a quick jab at Head Coach Koetter and would throw in ” why fire lovie then”!!!!
October 10th, 2016 at 8:29 am
Going to have to wait till end of the year
If we only win 3-4 wins…Change Must occur
Fire jason licht and bring in a new GM and give Koetter another year with better players
October 10th, 2016 at 8:43 am
How could you possibly let Licht off the hook?
This is an absurd article born out of pure speculation…..primarily to boost readership, i presume.
October 10th, 2016 at 8:43 am
Media sensationalism at its’ finest! Or perhaps at its’ lowest! Personally surprised that Rick Stroud and Tom Jones still have jobs in Tampa Bay. Their 620 WDAE program got cancelled for a reason: Bucs fans had no interest in their dribble. The only one who’s made a ‘rapid demise’ is Rick Stroud, and he continues to sink further with garbage like this. Sounds like Tom Jones negativity rubbed off on him.
Coach Koetter has put together an excellent coaching staff and has outstanding experience on the offensive side of the ball. If the Bucs were 2-2 at this point we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. Get healthy and get Jameis back on-track and the Bucs can still salvage a decent season. The sky really isn’t falling.
October 10th, 2016 at 8:51 am
PFT was discussing this morning that Koetter could be one and done.
Defense Rules, the issue isn’t that Bucs fans had no interest in their dribble. The real issue is that the Tampa Bay area has no interest in the Bucss. Rick and Tom would not have been canned 15 years ago.
October 10th, 2016 at 8:53 am
Lets see how the season goes
Tampa will be favored in 1 or 2 games for the rest of the season
If they go 4 and 12, glazers WILL have an outside evaluation of the team
Lichts neck will depend on how well Sweezy and Aguayo play this year
October 10th, 2016 at 8:56 am
Time to get rid of licht that guys is incompetent as a gm and has a trail of the most awful free agent signings in the history of free agency, and with the glaring weaknesses on the bucs team he drafts hargreaves instead of tunsil or a WR from jameis, he skips the 2nd round every year and now the bucs are a dumpster fire, FIND a SAFETY the eraser was available but he went to oakland, we have 2 bums playing safety now
October 10th, 2016 at 9:03 am
It must be awfully liberating to not be encumbered by tedious things like facts when you put an opinion out there. I’d say that’s why so many of you don’t bother with them. Just taking that whole freedom of speech thing at face value and not worrying about personal responsibility for having what comes out of your head being informed or reasonable. What’s odd to me is that even with that approach you still seem to be so angry. Doesn’t that fly in the face of ignorance being bliss?
October 10th, 2016 at 9:06 am
Stroud must be bored now that he only has one job
October 10th, 2016 at 9:29 am
Stop.
October 10th, 2016 at 9:29 am
Constant turnover isn’t a good idea. If he is one and done it shouldn’t be based off this year’s performance. What I mean is don’t fire him and then search for a new coach. If we make a change it should be because a very specific coach they want to run the show is available. A plan needs to be in place not this week let’s fire this guy and hope there is someone out of work that might work out better, or worse a coach they want that turns us down again leaving us to scramble.
October 10th, 2016 at 9:31 am
It is not Koetter, Licht or even Lovie Smith. Our players are responsible for their poor performance.
October 10th, 2016 at 9:33 am
@D-Rome … “Rick and Tom would not have been canned 15 years ago.” Excellent point. Back 15 yrs ago, Tony Bruno did the 8-10 AM slot and Chris Thomas had the 10-noon slot on WDAE. Neither Rick Stroud nor Tom Jones is even close to being in that league. Can’t get fired if you never get hired.
October 10th, 2016 at 9:35 am
If this team does not turn it around after the bye there will be plenty of time for this kind of absurd speculation!
FOUR FREAKING GAMES!!! Against three division leaders!!! What part of this are fans not getting? Fans get a pass but Rick Stroud should just quit his job!
I worked ten years in radio and 15 in TV. Stroud and Smith got canned not because nobody cares about the Bucs…that’s just absurd!!!
They got canned because they are bland and unexciting on the air. They don’t jump up and down and scream…they are not Mad Dog’s…or Chris Berman types. IE They are boring!
Tampa Bay is more than just the Bucs!!! The Lightning open this week and they have a genuine shot at a Stanley Cup. Their games are sold out. There is still plenty to talk about…how much longer until the Rays leave town etc.
There are also financial considerations. It’s a lot CHEAPER programming to simply pick up a syndicated program than to pay two local hosts.
October 10th, 2016 at 9:42 am
That reference to JBF Jason Licht Kool Ale is all you need to know about why our GM is repeatedly let off the proverbial hook around here. That’s why I dub him Free-pass Licht.
October 10th, 2016 at 9:47 am
If the Glazers have a replacement in their sites IT IS POSSIBLE that Koetter could be gone after one season… Especially if we win less than 6 games this year… Im not saying this is what I want but I could see the Glazers moving on after just one year…
October 10th, 2016 at 9:49 am
Yeah and Sandy Penner did the show in the time slot before 8:00 AM, a local guy. You are missing my point. My point is that there is not enough interest in the Buccaneers or Bucs sports regionally for WDAE to carry a local show in the morning time slot. That’s not an indictment on Rick and Tom. That’s an indictment on Tampa Bay sports in particular the Bucs.
I said this over the weekend and I’ll say it again here. Rick and Tom getting canned had little to do with their show. This is very likely the beginning of the end of WDAE. With iHeartMedia’s debt you can be sure WDAE is in their death throes. It might take a few years but unfortunately it will happen.
I get it, you didn’t like Rick and Tom. A lot of people didn’t. A lot of people did. Whether one liked or hated them is irrelevant. Their firing is a clear sign of things to come for that station and I think that’s really unfortunate.
October 10th, 2016 at 10:04 am
Many “logical observers” on here thought it was all Lovie Smith’s fault and we would be competing for a playoff spot.
The Glazers may have thought that too, which was the whole reason they hired Dirk, no new coordinator for Jameis.
Offense has regressed. And the regime thought we were so talented we could afford to trade up for a kicker.
You know it just could be that Lovie had a lot to do with Jameis’ success last year. Sticking with him, father figure, etc.
October 10th, 2016 at 10:08 am
I respectfully disagree. The region as a whole does not care about the Bucs. The team has had an attendance issue for years. The Bucs used to proudly advertise the 100,000+ season ticket waiting list. These days I have sales people cold calling me asking if I have interest in season tickets.
Want to argue that Rick and Tom were bland and boring, well fine. So why did the station not bring in an excitable morning show host to talk about local sports? You going to try to tell me no such guy exists around the country? You worked in radio for 10 years. Do you really believe this decision was made solely on Rick and Tom being boring?
Quite frankly it seems en vogue to criticize radio personalities. Most of you would say the same kind of things about TKraz, Ronnie Lane, JP, and Mr. Afternoon Drive-Time. Heck, I have to use “Mr. Afternoon Drive-Time” because the mouth breathers around here are very negative about the guy and the Joes tend to block any references to his actual name.. They are all good radio people. It’s unprecedented that a sports town with three of the four major sports leagues represented does not have a local sports show during the morning drive-time. This doesn’t happen in larger markets or smaller markets. The 11th largest media market in the country, Tampa Bay, does not have a local morning sports show while the station claims to be the flagship for the Gators, Bucs, Rays, and Lightning.
October 10th, 2016 at 10:16 am
Sure attendance is down, due to losing, losing, and more losing.
Sure wish we could get one of those worthless division titles like when Chucky coached. Of course everyone HATED that.
October 10th, 2016 at 10:18 am
Oh yeah that Raheem Morris move was pure genius……………
October 10th, 2016 at 10:19 am
One and done? Maybe.
I think it depends on 2 things. The 1st is Jameis and how he progresses. This is year 2 of DK and Jameis, not year 1. And 2 is Jason Lict. If the Glazers want to gid rid of him, then they will get rid of both.
October 10th, 2016 at 10:21 am
look at all the injuries, we have no run game with Martin out and Vincent Jackson has nothing left in the tank with no depth. Our entire starting d line plus two back ups are hurt and our safeties suck. We can still won this game tonight. Get healthy and rebound
October 10th, 2016 at 10:21 am
He can go 4-12 and keep his job as long as we are losing games 41-38.
October 10th, 2016 at 10:23 am
Just click bait as Rick Stroud is doing his best to impersonate Skip Bayless. Simply as that!
October 10th, 2016 at 10:24 am
ERIC
You are 100% right sir
Monday night football is not only showcase of the bucs but of the Glazers
Rich snobby people may or may not care what fans think but they DO care about what their peers (other owners) think
If tampa gets embarassed tonight, the nfl wont give them a primetime game for the next few years
If aguayo misses tonight, tampa will be the laughingstock of the nfl
October 10th, 2016 at 10:36 am
Sorry, I hope we win tonight, but, I think Carolinas a better coached team with more winners. I believe this thing can go fast in the wrong direction. Jameis already started showing indeciveness last game. I think the coaches are in his head and I believe he’ll become gun shy. And if he’s done…..this team is done. 2-14, 3-13, I think somebody’s head will roll.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:01 am
Even the ever critical Mike Johnson thinks Koetter deserves 2 or 3 yrs to turn the ship around. If we changes coaches? It had better be Creme de la Crème..the very best out there. But I will say..Give Koetter someone of a chance. We can’t keep ridin coaches outta Tampa on a 2 yr warranty Unless of course…..They truly Suck to holy hell!!. So Koetter, You’d better win a few game dude. Lovie and Schiano already have a fishin tackle box with your name and DC Smith already inscribed on it.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:08 am
This is the problem. Media in the area call for the heads of the coaches way too quick. 4 games in and this is already mentioned? What absurdity is this? You cannot built lsu a winning team, a winning environment if you cut the head of the team off every 1-2 years.I don’t care who the coach or coordinator or gm is at this point. Just go 3 years with consistency at all of them at the same time. Then if you don’t like the product cut em all.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:11 am
WTF!!
I’ve voted no confidence the last three Koetter polls. But even I think this is the dumbest thing the team could do. You want to change the culture? Start with changing your underwear more often than coaches.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:18 am
@get a clue… i agree. Injury happen. You have to look at the gm and say, why didn’t you call reggie nelson? Why did you draft a kicker when depth is such an issue. Why not have a true back up running back when martin is always hurt and the O goes to crap when he is out. Why not sign a wr… ect ect ect. I think thats the only way dk gets fired… the want to fire jason so they have to strat over. Not saying either should be fired tho. 1-4 going into the bye will suck. We should beat the panthers but we wont.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:25 am
It’s a sad state of affairs but Koetter probably will not survive a 4-12, 5-11 season. He was brought in to win now, not build. It’s ironic because this teeam needs time more than anything.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:29 am
@chris
Did you see what competent gameplanning, playcalling and adjustment is with atlanta vs denver at denver
After 500 pass yards and 300 yarder by jones, shanahan had a veteran qb ryan to throw quicly to rbs and run to the gut of denver soft middle. Jones and wr was decoy all game long. They threw to rbs for over 200 yards. They knew like everybody that has eyes dont throw toward talib and harris which is denver strength. Even after a historical game for veteran qb like ryan, shanahan called plays to their 2 rbs and wr and the great jones to run routes
What did koetter the clown do. You run and watch jacquizz have a few nice runs in the first half sit and gets no targets in the 2nd half. He has a great catching rb sims run onto the middle and not outside catching balls attacking the weak denver linebackers
Koetter calls plays for jameis 22 year developing qb to throw to the strength of denver which everyone knew they will double evans and key humphries. Shanahan said no to veteran ryan
…and then our fearless guru throws jameis under the bus with the interceptions .lol
Tampa be warned
Koetter the clown is turning our franchise jameis winston onto jaboo gabbert 2.0
October 10th, 2016 at 11:38 am
I agree LargoBuc.. A lot of people here thought Koetter was the answer. I did not. I think Koetter is a great Offensive Coordinator. That does not necessarily mean he would be a great Head Coach. Some coaches are destined to be very good in their lane. Offense is his. HE still might do well. I just thought there were much better selections out there with HC coaching. Arthur Blanks (ATL Owner) was willing to say bye to both him and Smith for a reason. I knew last yr Koetter was the media and fans choice because every other question to Jameis was..Man Koeter is this, Koetter is that Huh? jameis fed right into it.
I do know one thing..Koetter needs to win at least 3 or 4 games this season to keep his job. Hope he starts tonight..for his sake!
October 10th, 2016 at 11:43 am
I agree with this. I used to defend the Aguayo pick because I really believed this team was closer to finding success than more failure. Granted, the Bucs were 6-10 last year but they could have very easily been 8-8 with better kicking. This team is worse than last year.
If Aguayo misses a kick on national TV this will be an indictment on Jason Licht and will shine a bright light on his many failures as GM.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:44 am
Stroud just trying to create drama, as usual. F this guy.
Does he do any real reporting, ever? Does he ever have an inside scoop or factual information? All he does is create drama. You can tell he loves when the Bucs are playing horrible cuz it’s an opportunity to stir something up.
Not buying, just like the rest of his BS.
October 10th, 2016 at 11:48 am
Wow!!! 3 games and some are ready to blow the whole thing up!!!!!! Maybe some of you can talk the Glazers into hiring Monte Kiffen’s grandson if he promises to run the outdated Tampa2 defense!!!!
Maybe, just maybe this very young team hit the hardest part of the schedule while learning the defense!!! They are still players away, but they are not that bad!!!! I am starting to wonder if some of you have already graded next years draft too!!!!!
Go Bucs!!!!
October 10th, 2016 at 12:17 pm
****Curse of NIKE****
Nike has screwed this whole organization all up…
The uniform change is to blame!
Look at all three Florida Teams…
The ugliest most ridiculous uni’s in the NFL and all three teams SUCK!
October 10th, 2016 at 12:24 pm
Stroud just is bitter because both industries he made his living at are dead. Newspapers and Radio in the same category is Fred Flintstones’s leg powered car. DEAD!
The bucs suck because Licht and Koetter inherited a bunch of mentally weak overrated players that some in the fanbase are delusional about. How many coaches does McCoy and his merry men of pay check cashiers have to quit on before the the blame goes where it deserves. Now Lovie sucked no doubt and deserved to be exiled to the corn fields. Jason made a lot of mistakes this off-season no doubt. Not getting rid of glennon last year and keeping vjax were huge mistakes but if he was to have dumped vjax and glennon the same crybabies whining about him now would be whining about those moves. The bucs will never win consistently when they have team captains that have more experience quitting on coaches than they do winning games.
Realist is right some of you fools would be happy if the bucs went 0-16 every year as long as one of the pathetic dungy clones were running the show. stop living in the past the past sucked. 4 good years is nothing to brag about or hold onto. Dungy was a 1 dimensional failure and all his assistants failed when giving head coaching opportunities the latest failure will be Caldwell.
Clean house Jason and get rid of the smiling cancer patrol
October 10th, 2016 at 12:33 pm
if dirk only wins 4 games this year he will be on the extreme hot seat….the only way he gets canned is if jameis regresses to the point where he doesn’t look like himself and a change is made to save our franchise qb….sadly I think rick sees the writing on the wall regarding jameis….he has regressed and the glazers as well as myself and many other bucs fans believe that this our qb….the decision was made to promote dirk because the glazers and licht believed that would help him continue to grow….but if he starts to regress under dirk you would have to save the hand by cutting off the finger…that finger would be dirk…..
the bucs are in a troubling situation….after watching football without the bucs on sunday I noticed a big difference between our coaching staff and other….the bucs have yet to create/find an identity….it seems like dirk just calls plans without having an specific game plan of what he’s trying to accomplish….that also applies to the defense….we have to figure out who we are on offense as well as defense…..everyone wants to say balance is the key but we have to figure out what our strengths are as a team instead of position….GO BUCS!!!!
October 10th, 2016 at 12:46 pm
@tmaxcon….cant put everything on lovie….so far dirk has been worse with better talent…..so far dirk is on pace to win 4 games this year….the issue last year and this year has been defensive talent, depth combined with so horrible coaching decisions….once we get some talented players on the defensive side of the ball and start getting healthy talented players in FA we will start to turn the corner….until then we’ll continue to be the same ole bucs….if they do can dirk, hire jim schwarts or bill callahan…people that have been hc’s and coordnators…GO BUCS!!!!
October 10th, 2016 at 1:30 pm
813bucboi
Lovie jettisoned a lot of talented players for HIS guys who failed. Lovie created more dead money than Raheem Morris was allowed in total payroll. No you are correct, it all can’t be blamed on lovie the majority has to be put on the glazers who are one of the worst ownership groups in professional sports. The living in the past PR stunt by hiring Lovie was stupid on several levels but most importantly trying to recreate a past that was mediocre at best is stupid. Bucs had 4 good years under Dungy that’s it. He was a failure his offenses were as bad as lovie’s and current bucs defenses. The franchise has two many mentally weak fragile players in leadership roles. Clean house and start over. I am not sure LVD can be saved he has been infected by the smiling cancer 93 longer than the other promising players but we will see. LVD has been a disappointment since schiano left.
October 10th, 2016 at 2:31 pm
I think “One & Done” is completely in play…somewhat of a Richard Williamson type situation for long time Buc fans out there. Tonight…the season is “on the brink”. Win and the Bucs are off life support…lose and 2-14 or 3-13 are completely in play. Cranky Tom Coughlin would be available…
October 10th, 2016 at 2:37 pm
what players do you speak of…..dalvin joseph?….dashon gloston?….revis?….Donald penn?….2 of those players aren’t even in the league any more while the other 2 are no where near the players the once were….mark barron could’ve been kept but you cant say those were his FA’s failures either…the FA failures are still happening under dirk which can be traced back to licht….
I do agree with you in regards to GMC and LVD….I think LVD has become comfortable making his money and winning would just be the icing on the cake….its obvious we still have a ways to go….I think both players have more value to in the trade market than to this team….
dungy was the best thing the bucs have ever had….golden boy gruden tried to create his own team and failed…he was a major disappointment after winning the super bowl….
the bucs organization needs to find someone with previous hc experience if they cann dirk(Jim Schwartz/Bill Callahan)….GO BUCS!!!!
October 10th, 2016 at 2:39 pm
@jonbuc….that could work….he has experience and knows how to build a team from scratch….GO BUCS!!!!
October 10th, 2016 at 2:50 pm
@ tmaxcon
You just made me think of our 2000 season when Les Steckel was hired as OC and said if we didn’t win a Super Bowl he would leave. All he did for the Bucs is score the MOST points in franchise history. Does that record still stand? I’m sure it does, that was a great year for watching the Bucs play (including the 38-35 game against the Rams). Dungy would have won a Super Bowl with the Bucs if Steckel had stayed here, maybe more than one. Another year in that offense and our team would have been great. Good times!!!
Anyway, I don’t see Koetter getting fired after one year when it is NO fault of his that we are losing right now. We are losing because of turnovers and he is NOT on the field last I checked. If he does get fired after one year it will be because Winston gets him fired for having too much faith in him. Calling JW a franchise QB means he is going to stick with Jameis no matter what he does. So JW had better turn things around quick, because this team looks like it will ONLY win about 5 or 6 games this season. No matter how Jameis plays Dirk will NOT put Glennon in to see if he plays better, and that’s a shame. That is one of the main reasons Lovie got fired last year, because Winston could not win more than 6 games for him. That and his dreadful defense. Lovie should have started MG8 and brought JW in IF Mike was losing too many games. It is what the Rams are doing with Goff this year, AND what MOST teams would do. If Winston was throwing 3 INT’s at practice EVERY day (last year) there is NO reason he should have been the starter from the beginning, simple. I could care less what they do NOW because MG8 will be gone next year and Tampa could have gotten something for him if they had played him last year. I hope that JW can play better than he has for Koetter’s sake. 30 TD’s and 23 INT’s is NOT a good ratio to have for a starting QB (7-13). Go BUCS!
October 10th, 2016 at 2:55 pm
If they fire him after one year, then stupid glazers deserve to be compared to stupid Cleveland browns.
October 10th, 2016 at 2:57 pm
@BigStinky
It does not stand!!! Head Coach Schaino broke that record in 2012!!!!
October 10th, 2016 at 3:00 pm
@tma you are 100percent correct. Mentally weak players. Live Lavonte. Hulk remember him making many comments about getting way down after big play by opposing offense. Also why does Hulk get impression McCoy wants Jameis to fail so he can come out and say “Yeah, he was a great leader. What a joke. This is my team.”
October 10th, 2016 at 3:11 pm
^^^^ Dungy The Hall Of Famer, you mean Father Dungy ………what in the hell does he have to do with this ALL /WORLD-COACHING STAFF, Ay fan that believes that getting rid of #93 is a positive move for this team …….well your just not an informed fan! LVD is just having a hard time picking up this NEW FANDANGLED DISGUISING DEFENSE! I said it would take 5 games for this new scheme to come together, hopefully it shines tonite! My last thought is this ….As a team we need to continue to bring in and draft talented players not trade them off, what if the kicker can pull one out for us tonite!
October 10th, 2016 at 3:23 pm
After watching the Eagles/Lions yesterday I can see why Carson Wentz got to start right away. He is FAR more accurate than Jameis is, he was 17 of 19 at one point in the game. All of his throws were NOT short passes either. And, he knows how to take care of the football too. He has 7 TD’s and ONLY 1 INT and that happened on his 134th throw. It took him 4 games to throw his first pick and it was a deep throw trying to get into field goal range. He brought his team back from being down 14 points and had the lead until his RB fumbled the ball trying to run out the clock. Wish JW played like he does. Go BUCS!
October 10th, 2016 at 3:33 pm
@ The Buc Realist
Thanks for the info, I did NOT know that. Must have gave up on the Bucs that season I guess. Hard to remember stuff these days with ALL the losing. That means that Freeman (not King) now holds the record until Jameis breaks it. Awesome! Koetter should be able to break it if Winston plays better.
October 10th, 2016 at 3:43 pm
813bucboi
Dungy never built a team either Sam Whyce but dungy s defense and the one dimensional coach could never field a complete team throughout his career dungy had 4goid years McKay won more division titles too… Dungy just like 93are just overrated media darlings that failed
October 10th, 2016 at 3:58 pm
Please guys, I put my pants on one leg at a time just like all of you. Except when I put my pants on, I make injury prognoses from my air conditioned office and run coaches out of town. Why not ratchet up the talk and list possible replacements for Dirk Koetter right now: Jimbo Fisher, Josh McDaniels, Jon Gruden, and the corpse of Vince Lombardi in that order. Now I have to write an article about when those interviews will begin.
October 10th, 2016 at 4:16 pm
We’ll, Big Stinky, the Tampa area has never heard of a fair QB competition. It’s like the preseason game Jameis rookie season. Glennon came in, checked out of the play called, blitz coming, knew he had one on outside, three step drop threw a perfect pass, td. Everyone forgets that kind of play from Glennon. Reality is, Jameis has still not put together a run like Glennon had his rookie year. Ok, let the hate come
October 10th, 2016 at 5:16 pm
If the Glazer’s fire Koetter, and with Jason Licht included, they of course will have someone in mind to bring in immediately. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean that it’s a good decision. They foolishly fired Gruden after back-to-back 9-7 seasons (took the Bucs to the Super Bowl and WON), promoted Raheem Morris (enough said on him), hired a wanna be drill sergeant (Schiano), and hired Lovie Smith. Along with that, Mark Dominik wasn’t good either. Their track record as Owners of the Bucs is terrible (The sons of Malcolm). No need to hit the reset button after this season, regardless of the results. Firing Koetter and Licht at this point just isn’t worth it.

Jeezus people… Get a grip. They’ve played 4 games. The schedule gets easier from here. Jameis will almost certainly tighten things up as we go along. The defense should begin to jell. Anyone talking about one and done only 4 games into a coaches tenure is a giant assbag. That makes no sense. If it actually went that way, I don’t think I’d ever support this team again as long as the Glazers owned it. But, more to the point, the media and fans who are in full-on panic mode after 4 games need to settle down. It’s ludicrous how people are acting. I’m as fed up with losing as anyone. In fact, I’m so fed up, I probably won’t watch the game tonight. Still, that’s more of a mental health precaution.
