Your NFL Leader In Tackles
September 21st, 2016So now we turn our attention to the rotten Rams, which have returned to their natural home in Los Angeles since the Bucs last saw them.
(Yes, Joe saw NFL history in December when the Bucs played the Rams in Gateway to the West, likely the final NFL game ever to be played in St. Louis.)
The Rams have a garbage offense — still looking for their first touchdown of the season. Yes, really. And Joe hopes the NFL leader in tackles helps keep the Rams off the scoreboard.
That would be Kwon Alexander.
The Bucs middle linebacker leads the NFL in tackles with 24. He is tied with four other players: Preston Brown of Buffalo, Craig Robertson of New Orleans, and the cat who Alexander replaced as Bucs middle linebacker, the Redskins’ Mason Foster, with 24 tackles through the first two weeks.
Yeah, Foster, there’s another guy who wasn’t good enough for Lovie.
The anger and frustration Alexander had over the puke-in-your-lap performance last week tells Joe he’s going to light someone up Sunday.

C’mon Joe, Mason Foster was not good enough to play in coverage. You’ve said as much in the past. Would you rather have Mason Foster or Kwon Alexander?
Mason Foster hasn’t had an interception since 2013. Kwon had two last season. Kwon has four sacks in his career (14 games). Foster has six in his entire career.
Foster has twelve passes defended for his entire career. Kwon had nine last year.
Buc fans shouldn’t be calling for an upgrade in personnel and then lament the fact that the previous guy isn’t here.

“The Rams have a garbage offense — still looking for their first touchdown of the season.”
Well, lucky for them, they are going to get some magic elixir to cure their ills. It’s called the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!!

Keep up the good work, Mr. Alexander! Please have a career day against the Rams.

The Bucs will make Keenum look like a serviceable QB while the Rams will make Winston look like Josh Freeman reincarnated, unfortunately.

Opposing QB’s ( Matt Ryan and Carson Palmer ), two statues. Have a 118.5 RTG against us, with Zero turnovers and 5 TD’s. That is PATHETIC, our pass defense SUCKS. We need to fix it ASAP.
